  1. Very nice thread Jane. Before I got Ana Grey I became a member of this forum and read all the information, okay a lot of the information here. The things I didn't want my grey to fear I put in the back of my mind to make sure that my grey wouldn't fall prey to that fear. The fear of new things and change: from the get go I have just put new toys or perches in Ana Grey's cage or around the house and she is not afraid of new things. I clean her cage every day and am in it all the time so that it is not her "territory." I throw a towel over Ana Grey's head and played peek a boo with her so she is not afraid to be toweled. I was so proud when I took Ana Grey to be micro-chipped and when they wanted to sedate her and I refused to let them they later told me that she was the sweetest grey that they had seen in a long time. That she made not a peep while they handled her and that she was as good as gold. All greys are different. To assume that all are afraid of this or that is unfair to the ones who are willing to explore and are adventurous. Karma to you Jane for this thread.

  5. Pat, I am so glad you posted about Adaya. It's been awhile since we have heard about her. My she is a little smarty pants for sure. What a fantastic vocabulary for such a young grey. She is beautiful! All your fids are gorgeous Pat. You are the best parront ever!
  6. Great pictures of your sweet grey Coral! Thanks for sharing her with us!
  7. How about crockery type bowls. Perhaps you can find some that will fix into the bowl holders. They are heavy and I don't think a grey could flip them.
  8. Dirty Dancing "Take the biggest guy in the world, shatter his knee and he'll drop like a stone."

  11. Thank you Dr. Flock for the explanation. It is a long an impatient wait for me. Ana Grey tries all the time to fly and it heartbreaking to watch. When she finally really flies, believe me all of you will hear about it loud and clear!

  14. I got Ana Grey when she was 4 months old and she was clipped by the breeder before I even purchased her. She was a year old August 6 and I am still waiting for new flight feathers.

  16. At 63 am I not the oldest here!!!
  17. I never met my grey until the day I purchased her. I spoke for two months with the breeder over the phone weekly. We always talked about the youngest of her clutch who I named "Sweet Pea" because the breeder said she was always a sweetheart and the one she would pick for me. Funny thing we talked about Digger and Peg Leg but never the oldest grey because quoting the breeder the older one "just don't stand out." I got first choice of the clutch and had my heart set on Sweet Pea. I held all of the greys from older to youngest and Sweet Pea bite me right off and wanted back in the cage. The older grey came to me and wanted to stay with me and the rest is history.
  18. It certainly does look like the Rocky and Mango get along great! Thank you for sharing them both with us!

  20. Hi Ellie. Sounds like Elvis is afraid and unsecure of his new surroundings. He needs more time so just see that he has food and water and let him get use to his new home. Just talk to him and he will come around. Just be patient with your new companion. If you have any pictures, we would love to see Elvis. Congratulations on your new friend.
  21. Oh Bernie so sad. Did you ever name this boat??? Did I miss the name some where along the post???
