  1. I have a exhaust fan in my hall between my three bedrooms. Is this what you are talking about. The fans are in the ceiling with a cover. Not even my canary could get though so I don't worry. My system is both heating and cooling combined.
  2. You need to relax and know that you are taking the very best care of Issac that anyone can. Have you thought perhaps that his plucking and actions have to do with the fact that you were "ill". I believe our greys/parrots can sense so much more than we can ever know. Perhaps Issac "felt" your illness and in his own way was reacting to his caring for you. The more you got upset about his plucking the more he reacted to your reaction. Relax and enjoy your sweet grey. He is very attuned to you. Calm and loving vibes are what he wants to see and feel just like always. Issac is a very handsome guy and I truly enjoy reading your posts about your feelings and his for you.
  3. Happy Hatchday Nilah. You look like a very happy little lady; and very spoiled I might say. Today is your day and tell Bird you can do anything you want because that is what Hatchdays are for!
  4. Peck looks very interested in his new digs and very relaxed. I am looking forward to seeing how things go in his new forever home. He is a healthy, happy looking guy. Thank you for sharing him with us.
  5. I saw this on facebook. Parrots, especially AGs, can be very vicious if they don't like what is going on. Thanks for posting this story.
  6. It's just great when they love their showers. Great picture.
  7. My parrots are not meat eaters. Not one of them cares for a chicken bone, fish or any meat. They just toss bones on the bottom of their cages and eat veggies, nuts and seeds although they have a choice. Shrimp forget it. My gang are vegetarians. Would love to see some pictures of Cricket scarfing down her food.
  8. This is great news I can hardly wait to see and hear what happens. I too think all will be great and Megan and Peck will be okay. Of course, you know, pictures are a must.
  9. Nice thread Ray. My first parrots were greys and a zon. Oops, I guess I broke the "rules". I have both types of greys and a BF zon. Each is different and each is different from yours or Talon's or anyone else's. My greys both came to me from their breeders. Ana Grey, tag, is fearless and loving. Sterling Gris, cag, is a big lug of a guy and a fraidy cat. Introduced to family and people differently and each showing their breeder's "upbringing". Louie, zon, is an abused re-home who was ignored and left outside by the wife and children when the husband, care provider, became ill. Louie is very observant, leery and so wants to belong but leery of women. He is my hero. Each parrot is different and each is loved. Each so wants to belong to the flock. I get very upset when I hear of stereotyping zons or greys. Stereotyping can be a efficient shortcut and sense-making tool. However, stereotyping can keep people from processing new or unexpected information about each animal/person. No animal/person is the same, each is an individual. Each deserves a chance to grow and learn and be the best person/animal they can. A parrot care provider should be open-minded and patient. Basically be able to go with the flow and be open to whatever comes along. Love my parrots!
  10. Hope you hang around here until you get your own grey. I was a member a few months before I got my first grey. It was worth it and I learned a lot and met some great friends.
  11. Snow peas my fids and I all love them. Of course they prefer them raw! Great picture.
  12. Can't wait to see some pictures and hear how the new guy fits in.
  13. Oh wish you could take a video. I would love to see Brutus in action.
  14. Happy Hatchday Nala. You are a great birdie and I bet the kids love you. Good job. Have a wonderful day!
  15. Want a great post. Am still laughing and grinning. One for Marco!
  16. Loved the video. One of a parrot's favorite thing, bombs away time! Would have loved to watch the whole act from start to finish.
  17. Yes my greys seem to believe that it is their God given right to drop things off the table, refrigerator, cabinet, anything if it is higher than the floor. Which is strange because the floor is the last place they personally want to be.
  18. He is trying to get your attention. I would just talk to him or sing back so he knows you are still around. Greys are flock creatures and you are the "flock".
  19. Oh the pictures are just priceless. Gorgeous photos.
  20. So glad you took Toby to the vet and were able to find the root of the problems Toby is having. Always better to be safe than sorry and definitely less expensive hopefully.
  21. Love the picture of your sweet little TAG. Love those tags. I also have one, Ana Grey, and she is fearless and loving. My favorite parrot. (sshh, don't tell the fids)
  22. A cast iron skillet, I have a couple of those. Great idea, Thanks.
  23. My parrots are not fond of pellets. However, I do keep them in their cages just in case. My TAG loves to grind them into dust. No eating just grinding.
  24. Shanlung, why don't you start a thread in the Other Bird Room for Yingshiong the white rumped shama. The Grey Lounge is for African Grey Parrots. If you have information on Tinkerbell, of course, we would love to hear about him in this thread. Many of us were very fond of Tinkerbell. Thank you.
