This is so very sad. I hope you were able to disinfect the cage. Personally, I would have left the cage and just purchased a new one for your newly acquired cockatoo.
This is an amazing story of respect and devotion to all living things. What a wonderful feeling this story has left me with. Thanks for sharing it Dan.
Sorry to hear that your grey is having flight feather problems. I hope someone with experience with this will be along to give you some advice. Dave007 in the Health Room is a good one to ask about this.
Can't wait Bernie!!! Will be looking forward to more about Ben. What a great babe she must be and very tolerant of you I'm sure!!!

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2009/12/21 22:22
Pat is the moderator of the Other Bird Room. She has multiple parrots as well as an older grey, Tyco, and younger grey, Adaya. Adaya is learning lots from Tyco.
Have you asked your baby grey's breeder these questions? Didn't you get any instructions or ask for advice from your breeder? There is also a Nursery Room in which to post questions about baby greys. Congratulations on your new grey!
We have members who have both older and younger greys and they have never said having two greys hinders the talking. Hopefully TycosMom, Pat tell post to reassure you.
Thank you Dee. Even in your time of grief you are the loving and caring person we have all grown to love and care about. Juno had a wonderful short life with a most loving parront and God has brought him home so He can enjoy the love you taught Juno to share.
As you know regurgitation is a sign of affection. What is it you think you should do? I would try to distract her if not then just ignore it and move on.
My grey just learned to fly. She was clipped when I got her. You will have to give Phoebe a chance to exercise her wings. Phoebe will have to learn to trust you again so you must take things slow and easy. My grey loves pine nuts for treats.
