  1. Sizing each other up looks like to me. Great pictures!!!
  2. That must have been a marvelous thing to watch. Thank you for sharing this great story with us!!!
  3. Captain Caruso, aka Cappy, has been singing since he came home BUT, he is very shy and is still a little uncomfortable in his new home. I leave his cage door open for a little each morning but he has only ventured out a couple of times and then goes back in with a minute or two. He only has morning time as I really don't trust Ana Grey to be a lady!!!!! I can only get Cappy singing if I sneak up on him as he will immediately stop singing of he senses me in the room. So here are a couple of sneaky peeks so to speak. Enjoy!!! http://s407.photobucket.com/albums/pp158/JanetMoulton/?action=view&current=010-9.mp4 and http://s407.photobucket.com/albums/pp158/JanetMoulton/?action=view&current=011-8.mp4

  6. rife, strife, knife Wife, strife, fife, knife... rife, strife, knife Oh to have an easy and restful life to put up my feet and bide my wife to get my dinner and slippers.. don't gripe just stop the whining and causing strife next word: bed
  7. I don't know about the "nose" picking but Ana Grey just went through a spell of wanting head scratches constantly because she had oodles of pin feathers coming out. All is back to normal now.
  8. Yea Blue as the safety inspector I'd say you're going to be pretty safe in here if a predator comes a knocking... Now let me OUT!!!!!! Very cute picture!!!!
  9. I have two EZ top cages and order from Pet Solutions all the time and have never had a problem. Please let us know how things go with getting a replacement. I had my grandson put my cages together and they are both sturdy and all parts work wonderfully. One cage is over two years old and the other over a year old. I would certainly order more cages just like them if the opportunity arose.
  10. This is very sad, I like the policy that our local animal shelters have, if you adopt a dog/cat you must have it spayed or neutered. You must sign a contract to do so. I don't know how many people keep their word, I know I did when I adopted a beautiful German shepherd and my daughter's family did when they adopted a wonderful rottweiler mix.
  11. Oh dear, so sorry Cocoa your reign is over and a new king has arisen. Long live the king. As Demosthenes said, "The man who runs away may fight again." From that line is derived the modern day version, "He who fights and runs away will live to fight another day." So be patient Cocoa perhaps your day will come again. I'm glad every birdie is fine, you gave us a moment's scare there Sanggay. (tsk, tsk)
  12. How exciting for Emma!!! She is the mascot for a winning soccer team. Hooray!!!! Go Emma, go team!!! Can't wait to see the team picture!
  13. I wish we had a room where we could discuss books about our avian friends that we would like to share with others. Many of us have read Alex and Me, by Irene M. Pepperburg. I would love to hear about other books about birds that others have read and that the rest of us would perhaps also enjoy. I'll start with: Conversations with Cosmo by Betty Jean Craige I thoroughly enjoyed this book about an African Grey who is blessed to be owned by a university professor of comparative literature who totally loves animals and treats them as her friend. It is full of humor and get stories. "It is a wonderful book of shared affection and intellectual intimacy between bird and human...." (Dorothy Fragaszy) Has anyone else read this book and wish to comment???
  14. They tell me there are monsters in the local lake but come on guys give me a break all that malarkey sounds so very fake and certainly isn't going to make me quake! New word: flower
  15. Spinner of our forum is a breeder from California and he has shared his wonderful nursery cam with us so that we have been able to watch some babies grow. **Sorry, I have just learn Spinner is not from Calif. sorry for the mistake.
  16. They are lovely little babies Paulo! I can't wait to hear more about them and watch them flourish!
  17. That's just to kinky for me!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!!
  18. My grey loves to steal from my plate also. I just move a portion of what I know she can eat to "her side" of the plate. She seems to enjoy this.
  19. Hi Mindyluz welcome to the grey family!!!!! I would go with the one new grey so that you will both have a chance to bond together without competition for your attention between two greys. Have you found a breeder and are you looking at babies right now?
  20. Wow lots of goodies!!!! I can't wait to see all the toys you are going to make for Spencer!!!!! What a lucky grey!!!
  21. Hi justinfisk, I'm sorry you are unhappy with your grey at this time. What is his name, how long has he been a member of your family and how old is he?? Details please. I found if my grey calls after me or at me it is just that she wants some attention or to know where I am. I always tell her what I am doing, where I am going and when I'll be back just like I would any member of my family. Our greys are so intelligent and really do try to understand us. Try to be patient and talk to your grey. I agree with others shouting does not help it only confuses them more into wonder why we are shouting or are unhappy. Patience and letting my grey be in my presence if I can seems to help in my home.
  22. Pet. Solutions.com is a great online store for parrots.
