1. What a wonderful story Amyj. A gift from heaven you might say. If the owner of the little guy doesn't contact you, I know he/she has found a loving forever home. Would love a picture of you get a chance.
2. Hi Jason, I truly enjoyed reading your post! What a great introduction. I look forward to traveling with you on your journey to find the right grey for you. Are in interested in a Congo or a Timneh African Grey? Whichever you choose, I believe your grey will have a very loving forever home. Welcome to the Grey family!
3. Thanks for the great laugh Judy. I loved it!!
4. It's just like having my kids around again so no problem!!!!! And these kids I can lock up legally for a little while for a little peace LOL!!!
5. Always like to see what Issac has been up to.
6. No I am not familiar with breeding greys. This is a pet/companion grey forum and our greys are not breeders. What I know about breeding greys is from my own pet greys' breeders and my speaking with them before bringing my greys home.
7. Good luck with your new endeavor. You should do some reading about breeding and raising greys before you go forward with your new hobby, because I don't believe it will be very easy.
8. My parrots are all flighted so, I am an advocate for flighted birds, but do believe it is a personal choice and only the people around a bird know it's personality the valid reasons for a bird not being allowed to fly (ex. constant door opening). Lillie is practicing her flying because she wants to fly. In your place, I would see that there are proper landing places for her. Talon has given some great advice. I have made my own window/glass decals from colored saran/plastic wrap. Works great. I know a parrot that was not allowed to fly for 7 1/2 years, he was clumsy and it took a couple of years of practicing but his determination to fly has him flying now. The sound of a flighted birds flapping wings to me is pure beauty.
9. Update on Sully. As you all remember, I gave Sully to the young man next door, Jordan. As Ana Grey hates Sully and always attacks him if she sees him, Jordan will not bring Sully over if Ana Grey is out of her cage/room. Well one evening Jordan and his family came over to play cards and after my flock went to bed, Jordan brought Sully over. I was delighted because during the course of the evening Sully climbed off of Jordan's shoulder and walked up my arm and gave me a kiss/beak on the cheek, and then started back to Jordan. Only you that have re-homed parrots or abused parrots know how happy that made me. To me it was as if Sully by giving me a kiss was saying "Thank you for my new life but I love Jordan and family now, thank you." Made me cry he is so loved and so very happy. Check out his leather harness, Sully is so spoiled by this family. Just a little reminder: Sometime people give their parrots away for other reasons then that they don't want them anymore. Sometimes it is for the love of a parrot. (food for thought)
10. My gang love snap peas and my house plants. Well, I no longer have any 20-30 year old house plants but they do love snap peas. I also add peas and carrots into they scrambled eggs. I do not feed many fruits but they like freeze dried banana chips and also freeze dried veggies. I finely chop their fresh spinach and add it to their scrambled eggs sometimes. I do also chop up fresh veggies with my electric chopping appliance and feed this "chop" to them a couple of times a week at least. have to be very sneaky to get fresh veggies in my flock. I also throw in a teaspoon of red palm oil for the little darlins.
11. Too cute! Would like some pictures (hint, hint).
12. Hi Sean, Diablo is quite handsome. I look forward to watching him grow with you. Welcome to the Grey family!

Lovely picture, the light looks like a flying saucer coming in to land on this pad in front of your porch.
14. How exciting, can't wait to hear how the homecoming goes. Lots of pictures please!!!
15. When my parrots scream they usually just want to know where I am. I answer them with a "come here". They either come or are quiet because they know all is well.

Very cute picture of your sweet grey!
17. Dave, I would never give my Louie up, I only wanted to ease a former owner's mind about their prior pet. As it turned out, this woman couldn't even remember if her Lui was banded or not and he only spoke English. I only wanted to find out more about my Louie if he had been this person's parrot, because Louie wants to love but is really afraid and I wanted to know why so it would maybe help me with my friend. I love the story about your TAG, priceless. Thanks for sharing it.
18. Very nice job Paul! Love and patience, a very good combination.
19. Well, I did contact the craig list person and I am positive that my Louie is not her Lui. She did not know very basic tell-tell things about Louie that any prior owner would have known. Things like whether or not he was banded or not, languages he spoke, words he knew, flighted or unflighted. Her Lui only said Hello and knew only his name, Lui. Now I can feel good about trying to do a good deed. Thanks for your help and advice everyone. I feel good. (big smile)
20. If this person could possibly be my Louie's old parront, I would love to learn more about him. If I do contact this person, I would ask for specific information about Louie's looks, speaking abilities and other things that only a former owner would know. And the age I was told he is, which state I purchased him in, etc. I only want to let a possible former owner know he is loved, happy and in his forever home. If the person looking for their zon will not answer my questions, then my conscience will be free and contact over. I am not using my "real" e-mail but a temporary one, as my daughter suggested.
21. I really don't know if this is my Louie. But I did purchase Louie (he had this name but it could have been spelled Lui) from a woman and her children, who I can no longer contact. So what would you do, would you e-mail this person to see if perhaps my Louie is his former friend or not? http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/pet/2869646301.html I love Louie to bits so would not want to give him up but I do "feel" for this person who "just" wants to know if his Lui is fine. Your thoughts please. thanks.
22. CharlieB are you asking about breeding greys or family pets. We are not breeders here. I change my parrots' water twice a day, dirty or clean. They need fresh water available just like people. If I see that it is messy/dirty, I change it regardless.
23. My three won't eat fresh bananas. they don't like to be messy, I guess. But they do love the dried ones.
