1. Skippy is stunning! Ethel is a beauty too!
2. Ack! Sorry I forgot to get back about the seed mix we use... there is peanuts. Glad you got it all sorted though
3. Thank you everyone Most people I know just roll their eyes when I talk about Morgan coming home. It's nice to meet folks who understand how I feel. Two more days! :woohoo:
4. Welcome Dustin! Can't wait to hear more about your grey and her progress
5. My conure loooves baths. We use a casarole dish with a couple of inches of water in it. He runs through it splashing and laughing at himself. Maybe something like this would work for yours as well? Here's a pic so you know what I'm talking about Post edited by: Abernathy, at: 2008/09/03 20:30 OMG... lemme see if I can get it smaller

Post edited by: Abernathy, at: 2008/09/03 20:31
6. Might I suggest something like "Bandit" it sounds similar to Damnit... Sorry, that's all I could come up with that is similar... Good luck choosing a new name
7. Oh congrats!! I would have checked on him when I woke up also. Then, once you see him, you can't help but interact some. Yeah, I'm with you on that  30 hours! Wow. Sounds like he's adjusting well and isn't too grumpy after his journey.
8. Those are really neat. I wish I could draw or paint.
9. If it were me, I would switch back to the original, large cage now, while you can watch him and make sure he's adjusting alright before your surgery. It may take a few days for him to get used to his new home, but I'm sure with a little reassurance he will love it
10. Oh yeah, the butterflies have been making an appearance on and off all week! Wait till Saterday morning, I'll be pacing and driving my husband out of his mind until it's time to go get Morgan  *must resist the urge to rearrange the cage again...*
11. Hey there Skippy, welcome! Sorry to hear about Shadow and Poco, and your dog and cat. That's great that you were able to get training and have vet assistance with Skippy and Scookie. They are lucky birds. Looking forward to hearing more about you and your flock. There's a section of the forum for non-greys that we'd love to see Peanut in... no pressure
12. Hi and welcome Stephanie! How awsome that you were able to keep your birds in the family and continue to see them from time to time. You must be so excited to be getting them back. I'm looking forward to hearing more about you and your birds
13. Heya and welcome! Congrats on your new CAG!! Dow's very pretty. Can't wait to hear more about you and your gf's experiences with Dow... and of course, see more pics
14. We put newspaper on the bottom of our cages and it works very well. I just lay a few sheets flat and peel the top layer when it's soiled. Gizmos coming home tonight!! Congrats, I bet you're counting down the minutes
15. Thank you, yes, I'm super excited. I can almost not contain myself
16. Hi there LabRat, welcome! Congrats on your new grey!! Can't wait to hear more about you guys
17. Thanks guys, we can't wait! If all goes well (Morgan isn't terrified of the cameras) there will be pics to go along with her homecoming story :cheer:
18. Hi and welcome Darkmocha! Congrats on finally being able to get a grey! You must be very excited. Sounds like he will be one lucky bird My conure is still sleeping (and does not take kindly to sleep time being disrupted) but when I get home from work I'll check the ingredients list on his seed mix. I don't think there's peanuts in it, there are other types of nut though...
19. Great post. Definately gets me thinking. We're a multi bird home with 2 budgies, 1 conure and soon 1 TAG (in addition to our 2 cats and 1 dog). We have lots of space and noise is not a problem for our neighbors so it can be very tempting to expand our flock even more. I'm fairly certain that the addition of Morgan will be our limit, at least for a few years. Easy for me to say that now, but when faced with an unwanted bird it's so hard not to crack under temptation. I'm such a sucker for the underdog  If that happens I'll definately be refering to this thread for a reality check.
20. Funny picture Great that you're getting to visit with your baby before bringing the little one home. The wait must be killing you. At least you have lots of time to prepair though, so yay for that.:cheer:
21. Heya BlueCounty, How exciting for you! I'm super jeanlous, I'm bringing my baby home Saterday. I set up Morgans cage right after we found out we were getting her. Good thing too (for us) because I've rearranged it a hundred times to get it "just right" Good luck with your first night with Gizmo, I hope it goes well
22. Hello and welcome Ora, Milly and Mr. Jingles!! I hope Milly's feathers continue to grow back nicely. Looking forward to hearing more about your flock and of course seeing pics when you are able
23. Thanks Toni, I agree. I was poking around the forums for a couple of weeks then finally decided to join. There are some really long threads and it's taking me a bit to catch up, in the meantime I'm soaking up all the knowledge I can.
24. Hello Debbie, Greyson and Myah, Welcome!! How exciting that Greyson is begining to trust you and lets you carry him. I'm looking forward to hearing more about Greyson Myah and yourself. Can't wait to see some pics, when you're able
25. Thanks for the warm welcome Visiting with Morgan a couple of times before we bring her home has been really great. When we chose our sun conure we did the same thing. He was very close by so we were able to really build a friendship with him before he came home with us. When he did, it was such a smooth transition. We knew we wanted to try and do the same with Morgan.
