  1. We purchased Morgan, our TAG, from a breeder who was recomended to us by my husband's family. We were able to visit with them and Morgan a few times before bringing him home. He's very confident, friendly, inquisitive, and outgoing. We couldn't be happier with him. The pet stores in my area do not sell medium or large parrots. We did purchase our sun conure from our local pet store though. Stewie is very affectionate, friendly and has a fantastic personality. We could not be happier with him. We also visited him several times and formed a friendship with him before bringing him home. Both breeder and store hand fed the birds and spent a lot of time playing with them and handling them. They were both happy to answer all of our questions and give us great advice. Both took excellent care of our boys. They did fantastic jobs. I feel that us being able to visit both birds while they were weaning, and being able to interact with them often enough that they reconized us and showed signs they were happy to see us was key in making our transitions home super smooth. If you are able, I definately recomend pre-homecoming visits. Good luck with your search.
  2. Hi and welcome JokersMamma and Joker! Congrats on Joker becoming part of your family.
  3. Morgan is a 15 week old TAG and is interested in everything. He goes right for anything I put near him. He's afraid of nothing and loves to explore everything he can get his little hands and beak on.

    Fruit Juices

We buy little bottles of organic fruit juice when we pick up Morgan's baby food fruits and veggies. His favorite is pear juice. The little bottles from the baby isle are great because they're size makes them easy to store and Morgan goes through them in a few days so they don't go to waste
  8. Poor little guy I hope they are able to get that bacteria taken care of and that Spike starts feeling better soon.
  9. Howdy Shanny and welcome to the forum! Morgan loves his branch perches. He enjoys peeling the bark off of them and chewing them. If you collect the branches outside (instead of purchasing brances already made into perches) don't forget to bake them in a 350º oven for about 30 min or so to kill off anything that could be living on or in the wood. Also be sure the trees you collect them from have not been sprayed with pesticides or other chemicals.
  10. Hello Andrew and Sam, welcome! Sam sounds like a joy to be around. Looking forward to hearing more about both of you
  11. Hi and welcome Shelly and Sara! Can't wait to hear more about you and Sara
  12. I started buying things for Morgan the day after we found out we were getting him. Within 2 days I had his cage set up. I changed it around a million times before he came home. Almost every time we go into town we pick up something for each of our birds.
  13. Hi and welcome Ben! Looking forward to hearing more about you and your grey.
  14. Hi and welcome Mark! Congrats on your new baby. Looking forward to hearing more about both of you
  15. Glad to hear Indy is doing better. I agree that she just feels safer on the floor now. Maybe she'll move back up to her favorite perch, or another one in time. Until then, IMO, if she's comfy on the floor then no harm
  16. Hi and welcome Denise and Dorian! I have no experience with egg laying. All of my birds are male. Just wanted to welcome you aboard. Looking forward to hearing more about you and your late bloomer Dorian.
  17. Hi and welcome Alricka and Layla! No worries, you'll be a pro at navigating this site in no time. Looking forward to hearing more about you and Layla, and or course seeing some of your many photos when you get a chance.
  18. Hi and welcome Bren and Dakota!! The breeders we got Morgan from have 3 pet CAGs. One of them makes this insanely loud impression of a smoke detector with failing batteries. She also makes a super loud "dong" sound which, I suspect, was some sort of door bell or something she picked up off the tv. They do have a strange idea of what a fun sound to make is don't they? lol. We've had Morgan just over a week now and so far he is only making quiet noises that resemble our dogs squeeky toys. I'm just waiting for the day I come home from work and he greets me with an impersonation of our sun conures ear piercing scream heh. Looking forward to hearing more about you and Dakota!
  19. Congrats on finding Radar! Glad to hear things are going well with her
  20. Congrats! Glad to hear your little guy is doing well despite his rough start. Can't wait to hear more and see pics of him when you get a chance
