  1. Personally, I would use the smaller cage with what sounds like a nicer top. Especially if you plan on letting him spend most of his time up there. Plus, he already knows that cage, might be nice to have something familiar in his new home.
  2. Congrats! Sounds like The General had an eventful trip. Glad to hear everything turned out alright. He sounds like a great bird
  3. Gizmo's beautiful! Looks like he's loving his tomato's {Nature-00020093} Thanks for sharing some pictures, they came out great!
  4. Hi and welcome! Congrats on finding a grey so quickly. He sounds like a great bird. B)
  5. Hey there Haggis, Thanks for updating us. I'm happy to hear that all is going well. If you know the egg is infertile I would go ahead and remove it. I have zero breeding experience though, so that is just my inexperienced opinion
  6. Hi and welcome Ryan! I hope you find the info you need to have healthy breeders and clutches. Good luck to you. Looking forward to hearing more about you and your birds
  7. That's a very nice cage and set up. I'm sure Loki will love it. The night before I brought Morgan home I did more tossing and turning than sleeping. My husband was ready to kick me to the couch lol. I can't wait to hear about Loki's home coming
  8. Thanks The breeder we chose did do a great job with him. Once we chose a baby and a name they started calling him by it. He knows who he is already. He's doing really well and is now down for the night. Hopefully my budgies won't wake him up too early lol
  9. Congrats on your new boy! Your breeder sounds wonderful. I'm looking forward to hearing more about your baby ans seeing pictures when you get them
  10. I would be hard pressed not to laugh and ruin my attempt at verbal discipline... too funny. *Pulling Morgan's cage a little firther from the wood molding*
  11. Hey guys, We finally brought Morgan home! *doin' the cabbage patch* I need to start getting used to saying "he" as Morgan has been confirmed a boy. He's settling in nicely with us. He's been eating and drinking, making funny noises, wandering around his cage and hanging out with us on a play gym made for a teil (all of my other birds hate it, Morgan had a lot of fun detatching all the toys and ladder). He's been really good about stepping up and has a new trick already. If one of us puts him down on the couch, stands on the other side of the room and calls him while patting their chest, he flies over to us. He flies really slowly and does a lot of hovering. He's now taking a much deserved nap after his busy day. I've put a few pictures of him up online, if you'd like to see them, check them out here: http://s425.photobucket.com/albums/pp332/CaptainMorganBird/?albumview=slideshow :cheer:
  12. That's awsome! I'm happy to hear things are going well and Gizmo's loving his new home Virtually all of my birds do the same thing with their feet. Sometimes they switch feet very frequently. Sometimes it's a long while between. Unless Gizmo seems to be favoring the foot, or it's sensitive when you manipulate it (gently, of course), I wouldn't worry about it. What you described sounds like normal preening to me as well. Sounds like things are going great!
  13. Congrats! This is definately the place for gloating, we all understand how exciting it is! {Love-0002006C}
  14. Hi and welcome D4NGEROUS and MITTU! Looking forward to hearing more about both of you
  15. Congrats on your new babies! Can't wait to see the pictures when you get them and have a chance. I bet they're adorable.
  16. Hey there Natasha and Boesman, welcome! Can't wait to see pics and hear more about you and Boesman.
  17. My husband and I have decided that we won't take our grey outside unless she's in a harness or an outdoor cage. The breeder has her outside in a cage raguarly so we're not too worried about it, just don't want her getting lost or hurt. The movement on you picking up the towel probably just freaked your grey out the same way that sudden movements we catch out of the corner of our eye can sometimes freak us out for a minute. It may not have been anything other than a quick "oh crap what's that!" reaction
  18. I'm so happy that Shadow is pleased with his new cage! I can just imagine how relieved you are
  19. Welcome Haggis, Loui, and Jack! Congrats on your baby chick. Can't wait to hear more about your flock as your chick grows
  20. Welcome Udbluehen and Storm! Sounds like Storm is adjusting really well and warming up to you quickly. Leaving the tv on is a great idea. I either leave the tv on or some music playing when we're going to be out of the house. My guys seem to enjoy it. If you have any photos of Storm we'd love to see him. Looking forward to hearing more about your journey together
  21. Congrats on bringing Tigger home! How exciting!
  22. I hope Fergie starts to feel better soon. Poor baby
