1. AHA! I gotcha on the small error. I kept on looking at the yellow bar on the top, not the one under it. Fixed it ... damn my OCD  http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k470/lokicag/NewPirch20.jpg
2. Ok, made one last adjustment to the pic. Made the diagonal one wider as it should have been. Probably not to scale, but oh well hehe. Gave it more of a 3D look, to make it a bit easier to understand. Don't forget to refresh your page if you click the link to it: http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k470/lokicag/NewPirch20.jpg Might as well re-post the link too, so people don't have to hunt for it.

Post edited by: Broomer, at: 2008/08/15 01:31
3. They can't. the top bar need to be supported by the remaining two . The front and Sides would still see those bars, just one being in the back and one in the front.
4. n2fisher wrote: Yup, thought of that. The only place where there will only be a 5" clearance is right down the exact center of the gym. Everywhere else there will be at least 11" clearance. I also figure that I can hang toys off the top Green bar, since it goes around the entire structure. That and there will be a Boing hanging above this contraption at a future date. When Loki shows that he has the co-ordination to use one .
5. Oops, just noticed a mistake on the side view, fixed it.
6. Congrats! Can't wait for Loki to come home myself. You lucky dawg ::laugh:
7. Just did some quick measurements. The diagonal bars would be about 20 inches long. and the rest of them would be about 14 inches long. He'd have a Horizontal play area about 26 feet . All that compacted into something that is 17" wide and deep hehe. and drops my total PVC pipe needed down to 42". This total stand will cost about 100$ now. 65$ less now without the Sphere... just not as cool.
8. I figured I might as well offer my talents incase anyone wants a new Signature Pic or Avatar made. If you have a picture you want made into either, post it or e-mail a link to it for me. Photobucket.com is a great place to store pictures if you're not sure where to link it from. You would also need an online picture storage to upload the Signature to. I can normally make them pretty quickly, but if too many people request one, I might get backlogged . Soo patience is greatly appreciated. That and I'm sure Kim will want one too (kinda suprised she hasn't asked for one yet lol) Sooo she gets first dibs hehe. Just let me know. You can see from my Avatar and Sig what I can do. Oh, and my Avatar, Loki had a bunch of food around his nostril, I have the skills with Photoshop needed to erase that kinda thing My signatures tend to be 450 wide by 90-100 tall and Avatars are 150x150. So if you give me anything really cluttered it might not work. Let me know! Bryan - Father of Loki, Norse god of Mischeif.

Post edited by: Broomer, at: 2008/08/14 23:55
9. Okiedokie, it's taken about an hour to draw this out. No Sphere :pinch: But just made it like a rotating staircase. Little easier, and a lot cheaper to make in the end. Each "Step" are 5 inches apart, so should be close enough for Loki to climb with little difficulty. That and there are a lot more places for us to hang toys. It also leaves me with 8 extra Slip-Tee fittings, to either make something else, or add to this. Any thoughts? http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k470/lokicag/NewPirch20.jpg
10. Actually, just came to a conclusion. Me and Kim have this small rolling IKEA ... thing ... that is on casters. It's inner size is 17.5"x17.5" ... so I could change the playstand to fit into that, attach it to it with something, then suddenly Loki's stand is portable hmmm I could easily keep it 56" tall that way too. Time to draw something out.
11. Nope, it's 7/8" or .875" ID. I don't feel comfortable making something 30"x30" with it that thin. The pipe i'll have to use is the 1/2" PVC piping that has a .840" OD that I'll have to wrap in something a bit to make it more of a snug fit.
12. Here is a picture of the parts to show thier size. Regular playing card and Quarter.
13. Well, I got my fittings in today. I definitly can tell that a few things will have to change. One, the 5 way connectors I ordered are HUGE :pinch: . The outter diameter of the hoopball would end up being about 1.59" in diameter. Since it would be covered in rope I think it would be ok, but it might be to big (the plans I found on Birdboards showed it being about 1.3" in diameter). So what I might do is just make the hoopball on it's own when we get a bigger place. Or just be happy that I have 8 5-way connectors that will never ever be used :pinch: hehe. The rest of the connectors are smaller then I thought. I don't see being able to make a 30w"x30d"x56"h stand and having the sturdy'ness as I origionally thought. Well, at least I ordered a bunch of extra parts, so I could easily make it as big, with just more support. Especially since I doubt the Shpere will be included. Well, to quote my inspiration: "Back to the drawing board" ~ Wile E Coyote; Super Genius.

Post edited by: Broomer, at: 2008/08/14 19:10
14. When Kim and I last visited Loki, he kept going after the zipper on my vest, I don't normaly wear anything with a zipper when I'm home, but I forsee many of Kims fleese sweaters needing new ones once Loki comes home  Thankfuly my normal wear are simple t-shirts ... soon to be simple stained t-shirts, but that's ok
15. Me and Kim have to figure out a way to do that as well, switch Loki's sleeping schedual to match ours, that is. We both tend to be up until 3-4am on the norm. Kim works until 2-3am sometimes, so our sleeping schedual can be a bit wonky. I tend to work my sleeping schedual around hers so we can see eachother, that and so she can get to bed before me, since I sound like a chainsaw some nights (read: always  ) So we're going to have to work out lil Loki's sleeping schedual. We've also been debating on getting him a sleeping cage and put it in our secondary smaller bathroom (Is this safe?), since there are no windows in there, it's dark as a tomb and we can work around not going in there and disturbing him. We've been thinking about this since his main cage is in the living room, AKA the hub of our condo. Also, with our place we rarely, if ever get any sunlight coming into our condo. We face north, so we only get a sliver in the afternoon. But plenty of reflected light off the opposite building. I've been trying to figure out if we're going to absolutly need a full spectrum light for him because of that. Any thoughts?
16. Ok, I'm no expert, especially since Loki is still at the breeders, but I know my cage bars have a spacing of 27/32 of an inch apart, or just under 7/8". You should get in contact with the shop and tell them exactly what you told us, tell them that you might need a new cage as they sold you an improper sized one. They should do a trade in of some sort, as long as the cage you have is still in tip top shape. If not, tell them that they'll have an angry Canadian on their hands ... me  ... There might be other advice out there, but sounds to me as you should call the shop and let them know.
17. Well lets see. For Loki, hmm, He's still a month away from coming home. Already has about 10 toys, 3 different perches, I'm building him a play-gym: http://http://www.greyforums.net/forums/african-grey/86201-help-on-a-future-play-gym-d.html Because nothing out there is even remotely as interesting as something I can make, let alone the price. I've done more online research for him then I think I did in my 2 year college course  . We've tossed our brand new Non-stick pans and so forth into our Locker (Condo living) already, so we don't forget. Already taken out most to all the aerosol cans/air fresheners. And he's not coming home for a month ..
18. Here are some new pictures of Loki! I finally broke out Photoshop for some, don't know why it took me so long  Getting a scritch from Kim. Posing for the camera, and a peak of those tail feathers. Nap time! Nap time on Kim, and those tail feathers grow so fast! 19. I would have to agree with BMustee. My friend from work, who convinced me to go Grey, has 2 parrots. She origionally had Mikey, then bought Mickey so they could keep eachother company. She found out very quickly that they do not like eachother, meanwhile they're both Red Lored Amazons. She finds that if Mikey, who she classifies as "hers" even see's her looking at Mickey, who is her "husbands" he gets insanely jealous and upset. She even told me that if Mikey notices that Mickey is not in the same room, he starts acting up and saying "Mickey, Mickey" over and over. As she puts it, Mikey doesn't want Mickey getting any attention from anyone that he should be getting himself. She does love them both, but she's glad her husband takes care of Mickey, or she would have a lot of trouble on her hands. A fishtank would be a lot easier to keep Sensei company if you put it near his cage, since it would give him visual stimuli, along with a radio for the audio. Since me and Kim already have a sparkle Lava Lamp, and I read that they work just fine as "company" for a parrot, we'll just go out and buy a second one that is the wax one. That way they can be on at different times of the day. Mix that with a small radio, and Loki should have ample stimuli. Somehow I can see Loki saying "Ohh trippy" when they turn on too ... :silly:
20. Well, the one good thing to offset the poop .. is getting them all to say "Resistance is futile" at the same time in different voices ... :silly: /end nerdiness. B) hehe
21. 150,000.00 US for the pair .... that's 125 baby birds from my breeder lol. I think I'd rather the 125 AG's lol ..... now THAT would be a full time job hehehe. Oye the poop ....
22. 150,000.00 for the pair ..... {Emotions-00020070}   Doesn't that molt out anyways?
23. Welcome to the boards! Let us know what name you picked, and take pictures!
