I'm a huge Phantom fan, my cousin worked for Pantages theater (now known as the Canon Theater) up here in Toronto, the home of the Phantom for about 12'ish years, I saw it 3-4 times at least. Heh, my main love in music is Heavy Metal .. my iTunes is full of mainly just that .. so I hope Loki likes it. :woohoo:
  2. Thanks  My blisters thank you too :silly:  And to think ... Wednesday my and Kim are taking an hour drive out of town to 'Parrotdise Perch' ... the only one in the province (read "State" for you silly Americans ) ... just to buy more toys, a traveling cage (if in stock, if not, we order one) and ... lots of vetwrap http://www.parrotdiseperch.com/parrot/index.php Naaaa, Loki's not spoiled at aaaaaall /end sarcasm :silly:
  3. Carolyn, I have 2 lists of safe and dangerous wood ... I just don't know the difference between them by look lol, since I'm not a botanist or a dendrologist  http://www.birdsafe.com/woods.htm and http://www.silvercloudaviary.com/safewood.html Wish they had pictures. There are trees that are lining my condo's property that are all twisting and bent, would be perfect, but I haven't a clue what kind of tree they are. Mind you, my condo management might not like me taking a saw to one of them lol. hmmm, I should take a picture...
  4. Looks great! Wish I knew what some of the types of trees around here are so that I could find wood to make perches and such. Too many tree's .. no clue what they are lol .. not going to risk it.
  5. Now I'm wondering if the JiffyPop trays or air popping machines are tefflon coated
  6. Thanks Matt, that means a lot Karma to you
  7. We just dont want to bombard him with toys the day he comes home. We'll add them as time progesses
  8. I don't think he's too spoiled, do you? His dresser He only has 1 drawer full so far: Think that's enough? :whistle: {Feel-good-0002006E}
  9. Thanks everyone. Is it wrong that he has about 300+ popsicle sticks waiting for him ... just for random playing and toy making ? That and well, I eat popsicles all the time, so it's an endless supply lol, rather then throwing them out.
  10. Oh, also, in the first picture on the floor behind the gym is the small ikea rolling ... storage .. thing (no idea what to call it  ) The playstand will fit into there, I'm going to lock it into it so it can be rolled around, and to make it stable.
  11. Oh my, I'm so sorry to both of you. Dutch, thank you very very much for meantioning the popcorn. My Microwave is within 10 feet of Loki's soon to be cage, and I had no idea. I'm a popcorn fiend myself. Not anymore.
  12. Well, spent a few hours the last couple of days with a dinky little pipe cutter and I have the playgym put together! It's not screwed together yet, and obviously lacks Vetwrap, but here it is. (My measurements that I took in photoshop were exactly right ... I was shocked ) Here's a front view A closer view of the front A top view (this took a few tries to take lol  ) ----------------------------------------- Here's a shot of the cage in it's final set up in preperation for Loki's homecoming in 15 days. (me? counting down the days? naaa  ) And finally, some of the toys we have waiting for him Now to tackle the bathroom ... remodeling it before he comes home

    Boing?

Ah, thanks everyone. Just seemed large. Mind you, I'm also looking at Loki while he's 11 weeks old .. so lots of his stuff seem really large for him.

    Boing?

Just wondering something. Kim bought a boing when she was down in Niagra Falls. The diameter of the rope is 1 1/4" ... that a good size? It just seems big. I know Loki wont be able to use it for a while since he probably wont have the balance for it for a few months, but just thought I'd make sure that 1 1/4" isn't too big for his cute lil' CAG beak and such.
  16. Yay that was my 100th post .. I'm an "expert" now ... *snorts* hehehe
  17. Woot! :woohoo: Home Depot actually had the CPVC piping that matches my fittings. That takes a load of work off my hands since it fits snug! Bought 50' of it, that should cover the Playgym with a little left over. Time to measure it out!
  18. Fair enough, They've been in operation for 20 years and we checked with a few vets around and got nothing but high praised reviews about them. It's not formula on his belly, it's wood shavings (I was easily able to pick it off, but didn't want to work that close to his "buisness end" while doing it  ). They tried using the shavings as a change instead of wood chips and didn't expect the mess. Other then that he gets covered in stuff from his brothers and sisters socializing and playing with him and regurgitating after they've been fed. Unless she was working small scale, I can understand that she can't keep her eyes on them all day, every day. She has about 50 pairs of breeder birds of about 35+ different species, they're actually eastern Canada's largest exotic bird aviary. Other then that, we have an appointment the day after he gets home with an Avian vet, and we'll get him checked out. I must say, however, that I can't but take it as a personal attack in a way. Me and Kim get to see him, are happy to see him, and I happily post pictures, and all we get is critisism. We're unable to see him every day or we would gladly bathe and clean the little bits off of him. Other then that we've talked to the breeder and she's made an amazing effort for us and he's looked great compaired to three weeks ago. Three weeks ago it was nothing of her doing anyways, she did clean them off while feeding them it was, again, the after affects of what he and his brothers and sisters did after she left. Of which we didn't mind, because we understood that babies will be babies (I'd pay to see a human baby spotless after being able to play with a few other babies of the same age and eating lol). But trust me in one thing ... we will have no wood shavings here at home lol.
  19. Oh I have, and he gets a bi-weekly bath. It's just that in socializing him with his brothers and sisters, they tend to get each other messy by regurgitating and playing with the wood chips that cover the bottom of thier weaning cage and so forth. She can't watch him all day. :side:
  20. Hello again, just saw Loki today and got some more great pics and Video's (see my sig for my Youtube link to see them). He's getting very active and was finally making little baby noises! He's been silent around me and Kim until now (Other then the little poop grunts  ) Hope you enjoy! Can't see me! "Gimmie that!" Hi Daddy!! Preening the green frog! Preening time! Sitting on Kim, being all cute! The popsicle stick is mine! MUAHAHAHA  Ya mind? I'm playing with my popsicle stick! Enjoy! Oh, TalonSis or anyone who knows how ... I tried the "Size=550" thing, it didn't work
  21. Hmm, though i've never had a bird, every time I see loki I spend a portion of my time playing with his beak. Making little "Boop boop boop" sound when I lighty touch it. My philosophy (for now) is if I play with his beak a lot, he might figure out that I'm not scared of it. Though Kim keeps saying "One of these days, you're going to lose the tip of your finger" Eh, my own fault if it happens.

  23. Oh I have to admit that my first thoughts when Kim said "hey, how about a parrot" was teaching it to say "GET TO DA CHOPPA!" like Schwarzenegger. The funny thing is, when we first thought of getting a bird was a few weeks after a new neighbor moved into the building. After a few weeks of hearing this screaching sound like a cat eating a small child (or vise-versa) we found out that it was a cockatoo. So of course, the sounds of this screaching is what made us think of a bird in the first place . Kim origionally thought of a Lovebird, but a friend at my work say "No no, Afican Grey" (She owns a couple Red Lored's). After a week or two of research, we were sold on the idea. Talking was an interesting thing to me. The fact that they're some of the quieter parrots out there was the other. Now with all the research that I've done in the last 2 months, I'm ever so glad of our choice. Even if he doesn't talk. Though Kim is certain that he should, since I never seem to shut up. . Or Kim thinks that he'll learn to shove his head under his wing and turn his back on me ... to show that I'm talking to much
  24. Eh, I'm good with Photoshop. The way I've set it up is I can turn on and off each of the Front, Side, Diagonal and Top views, as well as turn off the fittins or the frame. That way I could get the measurements of each pipe. Though, now you have me curious ... I gotta check it out  :woohoo:
