  1. Hi Lisa and Harley, welcome to the forum. This is a fantastic forum, with some very knowlegable and always helpful members. It sounds like Harley came to you a very troubled little bird - karma to you for persevering with him enough for him to trust you. He seems like a real character (scoobie-doo!!?) Looking forward to seeing some more pics. Bye for now. Lyn & Alfie. xx
  2. oh Judy, I'm a bit jealous - I'll just be going out to work as you're coming in!! Enjoy!
  3. eeee I have not! It's just the anticipation!!!
  4. Peeeeeople! Why is it that when we "skate on thin ice", we can "get in hot water"?
  5. lol Judy - say hi to Marg for me!! Poor Jilly - feel better soon. x
  6. I'm so sorry to hear Rishi is sick. The only thing I would suggest is giving him some fresh air, if he's breathed something in some fresh air might help, if your not doing that already. I really hope he gets over whatever it is. Our thoughts are with you. Lyn & Alfie. xx
  7. Woo hoo! Here comes Friday :) :) :) :) night! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
  8. Hang in there I still get lovely cuddles from Alfie in the evenings! x
  9. I've gone/am going through a similar thing with Alfie. She is testing her boundaries to the limit! I've had a few bloody fingers, and she's had a few time-outs in her travel cage (no toys). She is definitely biting alot less. The link below is an interesting thread from danmcq - it may help you at least understand your greys behaviour! http://www.greyforums.net/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,27/func,view/catid,19/id,160836/ Jane is right - your bird is young enough for you to turn this around, but it will/may take a lot of time and effort from you. Hope everything works out. Lyn & Alf x You can read a similar post of mine and some of the answers I got by clicking the link below. http://www.greyforums.net/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,27/func,view/catid,5/id,156022/
  10. Hi Charlotte, Welcome to the group! Lol - you've been a snooper? That made me smile. As Jooles said, you've pretty much covered everything with Charlotte, it doesn't sound as if she wants for anything! A photo would help though, and you'll soon have replies from the pros of the forum helping you with your querie! Bye for now. Lyn & Alf xx
  11. Thanks folks. They're a great bunch and I just love them all to bits! And would you believe Tia is the boss - Megan is the mild-mannered one! Thanks for having a look! P.s. Judy, I think it was your advice passed on to another member that was passed on to me regarding how to post the pics, so thank you! And Bernie helped too! xx
  12. P.s. 3 jobs, 3 kids and reading every post? How did you manage to swing 36 hour days?!! xx
  13. Hi Penny, It does take a lot of people in a lot of different roles to make a forum as successful as this one. You must do an awful lot of reading if you get all the posts!! And you are right, there are some members who never miss any of them! I have been a member since I got Alfie in May 2008, and I really would have been a little lost without this Forum. I'm only just beginning to use it fully - finding older posts that are every bit as helpful as the newer ones! So a big thank you to you too, Penny, and indeed everyone who has made me and Alf feel like part of the family! Lyn & ALf xx
  14. So Alfie would like to introduce you all to her family! I've been taking tips from other forum users as to how to upload a few pics into one thread, so please bear with me if I don't get it right! First of all are Megan (big dog) and Tia (chi). It was really thanks to Tia that Alf joined our family in the first place - Tia told her Dad she wanted a pet (her Dad is wrapped around her little paw!) and the rest, as they say, is history! Next we have Leah (10yo) and Gavin (14yo) - Two foals I that I bred myself, and then, their Mum, Gem Princess Tia Gentle Megan Mental Megan! Gavin's a real character! The Humans! David and me. And last but not least of course.....! .....Alfie! I'm working on a Family portrait, but it may take some time!! HOpe the piccies work! Catch you all later. 15. Hi Folks, I've just been reading Dan's excellent thread, Grey Personality changes in years, and something he wrote reminded me of this picture I have of my Chihuahua, Tia. I found these Possession Laws and thought it suited Tia to a, well to a T, so I printed them over the top of a photo of Tia giving me her "bestest fierce face!" But now I realise, they suit Alfie aswell, so I thought I'd share. Since we got to know Alfs character, we keep joking that maybe she is part chihuahua!!
  16. Great thread Dan, thanks. Wish I'd caught it first ime round - I'd have realised a lot sooner that Alf is in fact, a normal, healthy, happy (sometimes moody!) Grey! x{Feel-good-000200BB}
  17. Lol, me too Katana. Great link tho Adina, thanks for posting. x
  18. Well done - mine too! The Terminator 2 - Judgment Day "you hauled your cookies all the way to the beach for some guy?"
  19. Home alone? "I'M IN THE DARK HERE!"
  20. Lol - Alfie used to throw her bowls, I've fixed them in now tho (spoilsport!). She sometimes taps her beak on the window too, I think the people outside think she's waving at them! x
  21. That's the spirit Judy! I'll join you if you don't mind?
  22. Lol. Perhaps you had better call an emergancy F.A.R.T. meeting to steady your nerves?!
  23. Oh dear Jilly, sounds like you've had a stressful afternoon? So do you know what the noise is?
  24. Thanks Folks - Lol Judy, I don't need any mko re encouragement than that - I've got thousands!! x
