  1. LOL!!! Well they say great minds think alike and it seems all our greys do!! So since we know they are great minds...what a perfect phrase!!!
  2. Congrats!!! What is his voice like? Fawkes has about 6 or 7 different voices she uses, and has now strarted using mine too:) She has only been here somewhere around three weeks now, though she's 5 years old!
  3. Your welcome!! And thats what it was that killed the finches was axe body spray!! So good call, we put our sprays on in the car now!
  4. Thats great info Ronda! I would personally get rid of all that nice smelling stuff!! Not worth it!!! Shane forgot once and sprayed an aerosol cologne before he left and within an hour 5 of 6 of my finches were dead!! Soo I know the risks and there is nothing of the sort in my house!
  5. By every cage I have posters from Bird talk magazine, I find my self saying (mainly to Fawkes and Pocco) " No now you leave that poster, no bad girl" Then of course she says "oh bad girl, bad bird" then takes a break and tells herself "Ohh good girl, pretty grey bird!" LOL!!
  6. Welcome!!! I would love to see pictures!!!
  7. LMAO!!! Yeah I know my dumb camera doesnt offer a flash or light when you use the video part of it, but I figured out that if I do it while its sunny and open all the blinds they come out great!! So I will do that fro m now on!!
  8. WOW!!! First of all I did not think you could offer to many toys!! Second One wing? Thats crap!! Bleeding nails? I can see why you are so upset, that sucks!! I take fawkes to groomer at a small non-chain petstore her for wings and nails, its $7 for wings and $7 for nails, he also does beaks for $7!! Never has he made my birds bleed, and I take them in even if their nails are just to sharp, he just takes the very tip off and NO blood! Foot toys are a great thing to offer on a playtoop, but I dont give them in the cage either. I agree with what you are doing, just opening the door and letting her out at her own pace!! Some take longer than other, my quaker has been with us for over a year and does not come out...her door is open from the time I get up until I put them all to bed! Im so sorry you had such a crappy visit with a vet!
  9. Its 2:55 am, just finished feeding the baby beaks!!! I have no idea what the temp is but I wanted to fill you all in that were aware of the situation that happened with the hubby the other night. BIG mis-understanding!!! Something terrible happened to him and there will be a full blown criminal investigation of this....all I have to say is if you go to the bar PLEASE PLEASE watch your drinks and do not take anything from somebodsy that you do not trust 100%!!!
  10. My 16 year old cockatiel HAS to have 12 grain bread everyday at 3:00 pm...if its not on his white clip by 3:00 pm SHARP he will scream JOEY JOEY JOEY until you get off your bum and get it there!! That spoiled little guy!! He also has to have a ritz cracker on his silver clippy at 4:00 pm everyday!! Im telling you he is the most demanding bird in my house! Cant move his toys, has 4 treat bowls and 4 clippys that have to have the same thing on them at the same time EVERYDAY!!! *sheesh*
  11. Have you tried to crush up fruity pellets in it? Mine wont touch it unless I do! My DYH amazon is VERY picky sometimes but will eat anything if he sees us eating it...try eating some in front of her!! *Oh come on its not that bad, actually its good, just ignore the seeds!* But since they are flock eaters they see you eating it and they think hey I want that instead of what I have!!

    Meats

    Cheese can be good in extreme moderation!! There are valuable things in it!! No processed or soft cheese but hard cheese once in a while is fine!
  13. Today the spoiled brats got, Birdie noodle soup!! Wich is basically homemade chicken noodle, minus the salt and pre-made boullion. Everything fresh or frozen and organic chicken! To make the broth I use oregeno, parsley and salt-free butter..amish made. Its not the chicken noodle I would make for me but they Fids love it!!!
  14. Thanks for the link Ronda!!! I will have to check into it in the am!! My baboes love the nutri-meals!! If you can imagine how spendy that gets with my flock!! {Feel-bad-00020072}
  15. I find that Fawkes likes frozen better than fresh with MOST things! I actually put several of the same things in her bowl at different times and she always ate the frozeen before the fresh...so I tend to buy HER more frozen..where my conures and others like fresh!
  16. I dont really keep track, I just cook up a bunch of food a few times a day and split it between my flock. Freeze the rest for another day! They always get their pellets first though!
  17. Ok I know I always say this...but the video is a little dark...you can see her some anyways!
  18. Hmmmm I did a little research today after seeing your pictures!! I found a breeder that sells TAG's for $750 that im going to look into...maybe this summer Shane and I can work on adding one to the flock!! He says I get to get a baby grey, I have always been a CAG person but since joining this site I have learned how wonderful TAG's are too! So I think I may just go for one....still would be hard to pass up a baby CAG, but im in love with your new baby!! LOL!{Love-000200DB}
  19. Some greys just despise water!!! There may be nothing you can do to get her to like it!! Greys are naturally dusty birds...one of the most dusy along with cockatoos and cockatiels. The loud noises, have you tried returning her to her cage when she does it..without saying anything to her? Same with when she does the noises over the food, do you talk to her when she does it? If so try to just leave the room and completley ignore her until she A) stops, or B) makes a noise you like...then go back to the room as fast as you can and praise her!!
  20. AWwwwww she is adorable!!! The bobbing of the head sounds like a feeding response to me!! Just a habit from being hand feed that she may or may not grow out of, it could also be a sign of affection.
  21. HAHA! Judy but I dont feel so young anymore!!! i have terrible knees, eyesight isnt as great as it used to be! I have put on about 20 pounds in 2 years and the list goes on!!! LOL!! What a winer I am!!
  22. Ok this is obviosly and old thread but I just saw it and had to read it!!! So the last book....*uggh* what a bummer!! Well I loved it...but my favorite character was not in it of course...those of you who have read the books or watched the movies will know who I mean by Padfoot!! Soooo im just wondering if anybody was as bummed about the way the series ended as me?
  23. LMAO!!! Judy im afraid you would only get a taste from little jack...he is TINY!! Little Netherlad dwarf, not much meat there!! Had to cover his eyes when I read that ((LMAO!! Hes sitting in my lap right now!!)) No but he is the sweetest bunny ever and the kittens...I will have to get some new pictures of them!! They are getting soooo big!! The little boy has one eye almost all the way open now!! Little hams!!
  24. Ohhh ok Hannah_rae!! I am also about 2 1/2 to 3 hours from greenbay...but the other way!!
