  1. My boss at the pet store showedme that one. I walk over to her and she was rubbing the poop between her fingers and I was all like, "Uhhh, Steph? Should I ask?!?" She laughed and told me all about it. 1000 POSTS!!!!! and about bird poop...
  2. If she is pooping ok then she isn't egg bound. When the egg gets stuck they are not able to pass anything else ether. Also, does she look like she is pushing as all? Tail bobbing? These are signs an egg is on the way...but if she stops pooping then RUN to the vet!
  3. LOL...yep, they joys of owning a parrot. I think it's so funny how some people are so grossed out by the bid poop...it's not like it stinks like dog poo or anything!
  4. No problem. I trim nails all day at work...from Macaws to finches...and I do the DNA tests there too. Figured this was right up my ally. Thanks for the karma!
  5. :lol: :silly: :pinch: I just looked again and there is another person with a green quaker named Molly on Utube! It was on that sidebar with "related videos" and I thought it was your bird! Yours it cuter!
  6. Well, if she is eating what you put in front of her and isn't into her morning feedings then she is ready to drop them. Put lots of food in for her in the morning before the feeding time and see how much she eats. If she goes right in and eats don't feed her. At 13 weeks that is right on schedule. The night feeding is normally the one they hang onto the longest. It's not really for nutrition at this point, but it's for their imotional health. It could be a week to a month before she is ready to give that feeding up. As for play, 13 weeks is still "baby" age and they really don't play very much at that point. Like everyone else has said, start showing her how to play and she will start to do so soon.
  7. Here is an image of the internal working of the nail. Don't start going to short, clip more than just the tip, but don't hack at it. Once you get blood wipe the first little bit off and the squeeze the toe to get a droplet. smire the blood onto the card and then use ether the setic powder they sell for cuts or corstarch or flower works too...I use cornstarch at home. Apply pressure to the nail tip with the powder till the bleeding has stopped. The nail will be sore for a few hours or so, and don't let him sit on ruff surfaces or chew at the nail, this could cause it to start bleeding again. I just did the DNA test on my Elmo the other day and he was fine, he didn't look like he was bothered by it after about 20 minutes.
  8. This will sound gross but get some in between your fingers and feel it. It shoud have a smooth consistancy. If it feels like there is grit in it that is a big sign of infection.
  9. exactly. My boss at work is missing his pinky finger of one of his hands...bailer accident as a kid...and he is fine without it. He says the only this that still gets him is splashing water on his face after cleaning it...like in the face wash commercials :woohoo: :laugh:
  10. I know I will get one some day. I can't think of a single downfall to them. Like, macaws are loud, amazons are hormonal, greys are single person...I've NEVER heard a negative steriotype about caiques.
  11. I just watched and OH MY! It is a good thing that I didn't watch that at work! I watched the "molly says allo and coucou" and boy that is cute!
  12. You should really get into trick training...they are perfect for it.
  13. lol...yeah, a little off topic:laugh:
  14. I love baby ducks! A customer brought in a baby duck the other day that they had found all by it's self and one of the girls that work in the Kennel knew how to take care of it so she took it home. If I get a house that I can have "barnyard" type birds in I'm getting peacocks and Lady Amhersts.
  15. LOL...well then, you better get a typin'
  16. {Feel-good-0002006E} That would be cute to have a "farmer Joe" pic of elmo with all my Bryer animals.
  17. I know right? LOL I'm actually suprised he didn't start snoring!:woohoo: Don't lie Judy...your not putting in your 2 cents, your just trying to get to 9000 posts!!!
  18. I can't enter this one because I don't have any barn yard birds... How about a pic of Elmo with a toy cow?
  19. Ohhh, he is adorable! If you can't keep up with him I'll fight Judy for him! HAHAHAHA Just kidding! {Sports-00020059}
