  1. I do notice "moods" with Klaus. Definitely.
  2. Hi, and welcome! I think this concept of greys thinking they're human is a pretty common thing. Klaus certainly has me trained!
  3. Hi, and welcome! Wow, that is a LOT of birds!
  4. Hi, and welcome! As you can already see this is a great place for friendly people and great advice. We're glad you're here!
  5. Hi, and welcome! Peanut is beautiful.
  6. Thanks for the nice intro and the adorable picture. Welcome!
  7. Hi, and welcome! We're excited about Bailey, too!
  8. Hi, and welcome! Glad to hear you're doing so well with your re-homed grey! It is amazing how they can adapt, isn't it?
  9. Hi, and welcome! Klaus whistles the theme from "Andy Griffith." They are so funny!
  10. Hi, and welcome! We're glad you're here...
  11. I was fortunate to get this one for free, but there are some great travel deals out there if you look around!
  12. Oh, my gosh! You all are so NICE! I can't believe I'm getting a pat on the back for making it only 10 measly days. Well, the plan now is to make a dr appt and do the next attempt with actual professional help. I know hypnotism works for a lot of people - it just wasn't the answer for me. Plus, going on a party vacation so soon after quitting wasn't my most brilliant moment in planning. But I do give myself credit for trying, and I feel confident that I will be done with the #$%& things someday soon. Thanks again for listening to me, and for your support!
  13. Aw, thank you Judy! You know what they say: Don't quit quitting!
  14. Oh, gosh. The highlight was probably finally boarding the ship in Miami after a long day of flying and riding a bus (flew to Ft Lauderdale, then took a bus to Miami). I got a margarita and my friend got a banana daquiri and we had a toast while watching Miami disappear. First day we hit Key West & did some shopping. Second day was Cozumel and more shopping (had lunch at the Hard Rock cafe there). Third day was at sea all day. That was my least fave day because everyone was on the boat (all 1700 of us) and it was crowded. The weather was excellent (almost always sunny and mid-80's). The food was great and the drinks were free (and unlimited - whoo!). And they had a disco for anyone who was maybe in the mood for dancin' - hey, I got my exercise. We saw a comedian - I can't remember his name but he's kinda popular - has been on Comedy Central & whatnot. We just had a really, really good time. It was great to get away and spend some quality time with my friend.
  15. Two cents, here - I left Klaus while I went on a cruise. I was gone 5 days. He stayed home with my husband and son. He doesn't like the husband & son much, but tolerates them. Klaus was fine when I got home. I opened his cage and he climbed right up on me as though I'd never left!
  16. Well, I promised to be honest, and honest I will be. I started smoking again while on the cruise. The friend that I took with me smokes, and we (how do I say this?) - Well, we partied like rock stars! It was a lot of fun. I was stupid enough to think that I would be able to quit again instantly upon returning. I have not been smoking much, but I definitely have been. I'm sorry to let you guys down. And myself. But I will quit again, definitely. And soon. I proved something to myself earlier this month (that it is do-able). And next time around I will be more prepared. To those of you who have quit, or are quitting - more power to you! I'm with ya (or will be with ya) soon!
  17. Hey all - I'm back! My computer has been acting up very badly. I'm suprised I got this far! I will probably take it in this weekend and get it fixed if I can. But anyway, just wanted to say "Hi." The vacation was a blast!
  18. Hey - Just to let ya'll know, I'm heading off on my little mini vacation tomorrow (the cruise I won at work). Have a great Valentine's Day and weekend! I'll be poking my nose back in around Tuesday next week to see what you've all been up to!
  19. Thanks for your support Siobha, Judy, everyone! It really does get easier every day. My mother in law smoked in front of me today (usually she doesn't, but today she was really stressed). It didn't bother me. My challenge now is not to get over confident. I see that over and over on QuitNet how people started feeling so good about their quit that they decided to have one, just to prove they can do it and not get hooked again. I've never made it this far before and I don't want to tempt fate!
  20. If Klaus has taught me anything, it is that I am still trainable! LOL
  21. Maybe Rascal is foraging? Very cute with the fluffy feathers, BTW. Anyway, it's possible he found a stray morsel once while doing that and wants to make it happen again. Just a thought...
  22. Yeah, Klaus tears up everything, including wood & plastic. I guess I've always trusted that he won't swallow anything he shouldn't.
