  1. Ok, it was weigh and measure day again today. I stayed exactly the same. That's kinda good news, though if you really think about it...I quit smoking 4 weeks ago and didn't gain any weight! B)
  2. Klaus is still spoiled. He's dismantling my stapler as we speak! LOL
  3. Hi! I remember Beaker! Thanks for sharing that picture.
  4. Hi, and welcome! Go ahead and hit us with those questions... We LOVE to gab about greys, don't we guys?
  5. I've heard of people soaking the pellets in juice, or maybe mixing with applesauce to make them more appetizing.
  6. Hi, and welcome! That's quite a flock you have there, and interesting stories. We look forward to hearing much more from you!
  7. I'm kind of giggling at the whole recipe thing. That is far more effort than I even put in feeding myself! lol My husband works a different shift, and my son gets fed by the baby sitter...dinner for me is quite frequently a bowl of cereal. I do make oatmeal just for Klaus, though...I consider that a huge effort!
  8. Harrison and Klaus are two peas in a pod! If I need Klaus off me, I stand next to the cage and gently make a pushing motion with my hand, for lack of a better way to describe it, I kind of "chase" him onto the cage with my hand. This doesn't always work - if he's very determined to stay on me, he might run around to the other shoulder, or down my back. LOL At bedtime, I pet him approx 598 times and work him from my shoulder to out near my elbow - from there it's easier to make him step up because he's running out of real estate...
  9. I'm stumped on this one. I thought greys were supposed to become quite independent at around age 2. My only suggestion is to aim for a "happy medium" interaction time. I wouldn't shun her altogether, but maybe be a little more insistent each time that the cuddle sessions be made shorter. Good luck!
  10. I have also heard that at the age of 2, it's common for a grey to "drop" their favorite. I can't remember what happens next - if they focus their affection on someone else or just overall achieve independence. So, maybe sometime around then you might become the favorite!
  11. Oh my gosh! That must be something when they all start chatting with each other! LOL
  12. Hey, that's exciting! Can't wait to hear all about Jasper... Welcome!
  13. That's awesome! I'll bet he'll say lots more, too, when he realizes how much wonderful attention that talking gets him!
  14. Hi, and welcome! You are in the right place for friendly people and great advice on greys...
  15. Hi, and welcome! I would not worry about the wheelchair. If your baby is coming home right away it'll be no sweat. (Babies are very adaptable - it's when they grow up they get ornery!) LOL
  16. Hi, James and Welcome! I wouldn't fret too much about Corkey not liking new toys (or new things in general). Klaus can take up to a month or more to get used to something. For example, he has a swing on top of his cage and had always loved playing up there. One day I hung a new toy from the swing and it took him FOREVER to go back up there. Oooh, that scary new toy! LOL Anyway, glad you're here! Cheers, Laurie
  17. Hi, and welcome! You're in the right place for friendly, knowledgeable people...
  18. Aw, I'm sorry to hear that! My thoughts & prayers are with you & your daughter...
  19. Great to see you back, Toni!
