4. I agree Mark, personally & my opinion only, id be far happier if breeders, petshops etc.. were only permitted to sell fully weaned babies, but at least there is some information available here for when the need arises,& we will try to help as much as we can.

7. I agree with Dan,he is probably feeling distressed right now.Has he been clipped before ? has he had bad experiences with his wing clipping ? Was this the first time ? Has he seen this guy before ? He needs time to get over what appears to be a bit of an ordeal for him.
8. Ahh bless little Macaroni,Mark im sure she will be fine, she looks healthy & content,i believe the correct thing is to leave the egg if it's removed it will encourage her to lay more. she sure was lucky the day you found her She wants to be a mommy, how about a boyfriend

10. The move may well be effecting Darwin as well as the new cage.moving home can be just as stressful for your bird as it is for you.He has a brand new environment to contend with plus the addition of a new cage. Birds are very much creatures of habit and routine. A new cage is a brake in his safe routine. Most birds will see a new cage as being a scary new object So let your feathered friend adjust to this scary object in his own time. Place some of his favorite things in the new cage. If the cage has a play top attach toys and put some of his favorite food in the new dishes. Even if he won’t approach the new cage having his favorite things within sight and easy reach will keep him interested and his natural curiosity will draw him to try out this new place in time. Some birds will adjust in a day. Others will take longer. We have a welcome room why not pop in & introduce yourselves to us

13. Well your be pleased to know i have another one for you  Thanks to bondsmom for sending this one to me Here is a really great recipe for Bird treats...I made it and my baby loves them... Homemade Bird Treats 2 cups crushed cheerios (or shreddies if you don't have cherrios) 2 cups crushed pellets 2 cups assorted seeds 1 1/4 cup honey Stir til mixture is wet throughout but not soggy. Maybe a little more or a little less honey. Pour onto cookie sheet and spread out. Bake 225 for 40 to 45 minutes depending on where you live." I added some dried fruit to mine and after I baked it I let it cool and broke it up into pieces and stored in an air tight container... Hope everyone likes it... Deby

17. Great Advice For harness training an older grey. Ronda please let us know if you have any success with the paper towel method.
18. I agree with what Ronda has said,i believe it's a myth that males bond to female humans & vice versa.i have two boys & two girls & they are equally attached to all the family. The key is socialization from a young age. There really is no difference between a male or female, just personal choice.
19. sorry guys i did re-size pics !! Not sure went wrong
20. Well what can i say I was considering a caique, done my research..had even spoke to a guy on phone about reserving a baby caique. Then in a telephone conversation with Lesley ( new member, Parrotlady ) it turns out Lesley had a caique for re-homing,The rest as they say is history We collected Jack this morning,he is the most adorable, loving, sweet natured little boy with an amazing personality to match. It was love at first sight for everyone, they all adore Jack.He has just fitted straight in & become a wonderful addition to our family. To say we love Jack is an under statement

Post edited by: lovemyGreys, at: 2008/04/21 00:11
