  4. James in the UK you can get the red palm form holland & Barret health shop, Rob Harvey, sellers on ebay have it to. Lovely pictures
  5. Great pictures guys & girls, keep them coming
  6. Do you have a dripping tap ? Greys make a wonderful array of different baby noises, gurggling, whistles, mumblings this is often followed by mimicing speech.Sounds all normal to me
  7. You could try pine nuts, there small & greys love them or sunflower seed, if you grey has a seed mix remove them & use as a reward, i have never known a grey to refuse a sunflower seed, but with everything in moderation Plenty of verbal praise too
  8. I wouldnt put a split ring on John,my boys are microchipped.Rings can often get caught & some birds do pick at them Personally 3/4 toys in the cage is sufficent, be sure to move them around or swap them with different ones, this wil help your baby to be more accepting of new toys when introduced, greys are often wary of new toys.I also had the perches lower down in the cage to start with, gradually moving them up a few inches over the firat week / 10 days. for the first week or so i had a soft towel with newspaper on top in the bottom of the cage, this will soften any falls your baby has. Supplements are debatable subject here some believe if your baby is getting a full & varied nutrional diet then there not neccessary,i add a vitamin supplement 2/3 times a week for mine, the same goes for a calcium supplement.

  12. Time & patience, they need time to get to know eachother, They need to be introduced slowly over a period of time, then there is no guarantee they will become friends..here is a link for introducing a second grey... http://www.greyforums.net/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,27/func,view/catid,5/id,69501/
  13. Toss, Fetch and Catch - which are variations of games which use a soft, lightweight object such as a Koosh ball or soft stuffed toy. Either you or the bird tosses it and the other one catches it. Place birdy items in a drawer the bird can get into. Like your clean sock drawer. Hide surprises in the drawer like walnuts and new foot toys and let the birdy find them. A box may be substituted. Pick up - the bird tosses something off and you either laugh or say, "Uh Oh" and pick up the item over and over and over. Blink. You blink, they blink. "I can do that too" game. The bird does something like stretch and you imitate him and then you do something like raise your arm and see if he will learn to imitate you. Make a Mess games. Some parrots love to shred and tear paper. Get some tissue paper for both of you. Rip yours and play with your bird. "Horsey is gonna get you," Tap your nails on the surface and walk your fingers toward the bird saying the above and tickle their tummy or chest. Foot play, a wonderful game you can do together. The bird offers its foot and you shake and set it back and try to teach the bird different things to do with the foot like wave and kiss the footie. Take your pick Trish

  22. Many greys are cautious of new toys, others dont mind at all, here is a link for introducing toys it's from the nursery but it will apply to you.. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/the-nursery/73105-teaching-your-baby-to-play.html Thats great that he is readily accepting all humans that come to the house.sounds as if he has a great array of vocal noises  As for covering the cage, that's a personal choice,if his cage is in the middle of activity & noise he will need to get his sleep at night. As for treats for clicker training you could try pine nuts or sunflower seeds, remove the sunflower seeds from his seed mix & use them as a reward Diet sounds good,we have loads of useful topics in the bird food room which are worth a read. There is a whole range of perches available, the sandy perch & cement perch are good ones for keeping the nails down.Be sure to offer a good mix of perches
  23. Not a bird we have here in the UK.I bet they are great to watch congrats Mark
