Vitamin A is also available from eggs, meat, and many kinds of cheeses in the form of retinol but these should be considered in the other categories. OTHER VEGGIES & FRUITS - About 15 to 20% While these foods many not be high in vitamin A, they still have other nutritional value or psychological benefit as part of a varied diet. Corn on the cob, peas in the pod, bean sprouts, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, leeks, artichokes, zucchini, green beans, okra, asparagus, beets, tomato, potato, apples, grapes, banana, guava, berries, pomegranates, tangerines, oranges, figs, blueberries, plums, kiwi fruit, cranberries, prickly pear, pineapple, etc.
  6. How old is your baby ? A grey will start to refuse less hand formula once they are full, follow your baby on how much formula he wants never force or over feed him,to tell if the crop is full it should be nice and rounded, it should be quite noticeable that there is food in the crop,When the crop is full, it can often be felt. To feel the crop of a bird, you can gently place a finger on the bird's upper chest, right around the area where the neck meets the chest. If you rub the area, you will feel something which feels kind of like a sandbag, being very hard and obviously gritty. This is the crop, and if you check back in a few hours, it will probably have shrunk, unless the bird eats again.

  14. Peeled and Steamed Squash is fine & the peppers are ok to feed too they contain high levels of vitamin C and A As a general rule, the healthiest veggies are darkest in color. Dark leafy greens, and fruits, veggies or tubers which have dark colored flesh (green, orange or red), contain the highest vitamin content.

  23. When a parrot's feathers are growing in, they are covered in a waxy-looking sheath that is made of keratin. The stuff are fingernails are made of.A mature feather has no nerve or blood supply contained inside. When a new feather is growing in, there IS a blood supply inside the feather. The feather that is still growing is called a "blood feather" because of the fact that is has a blood supply! Please DO NOT pull at the sheath ot attempt to pull it out. If your bird knocks a blood feather & it bleeds you will need some styptic powder, if you havent got this to hand then cornflour or starch will work.Apply to the bleeding & hopefully tthis will help to cause the blood to clot and stop flowing. In extreme cases the feather will need removing.
