  3. Makena that is 1st class Thank you. Guys you have some competition here Get them pizza's in
  4. Beccy is quite right, if she never had the opportunity to learn to fly before she was clipped, she has no knowledge on how to fly.Allow her feathers to grow & let her learn to fly before clipping.Avoid high places so she is safe.
  5. Tari this is a good site for looking after your plant http://www.bachmans.com/tipsheets/indoor_plants/Pothos.cfm
  6. Your quite right Tari there is never guarantees with rescues what you are taking on. i accept that,i can separate him if the need arises, but in an ideal world i would want him to eventually accept being part of the flock with my other birds.I have some soul searching to do.It is hard when you are asked to take these birds & you want to give them a better life.I have said i will take one more rescue but it has to be the right bird, but i just wont know until i try .
  7. As far as i know Talonsis there is no reason for a CAG or TAG to have a longer life span than the other. In the majority of ways they are very similiar birds, i think from what i know they have the same expected life span.
  8. Tari you are correct it is a pothos plant. A popular, easy-to-grow indoor plant, pothos is often called devil's ivy or variegated philodendron. ·
  9. Tari, thanks for your advice. My rescue does live with my other 2 greys,as i have a separate room for my birds. It is their room. All three are fine together & i fully understand that at any given point in time one may well turn on the other but they live harmoniously together, thats why i have to fully evaluate this bird & my situation . I would be re homing for myself & not my greys but at the same time whatever bird i rescue in the future has to be right for the greys aswell as me.<br><br>Post edited by: lovemyGreys, at: 2007/09/05 23:51

  12. Tonto may well copy noises he hears from tulip, greys are well known for their mimicking. Move him closer to you on his stand & he might interact easier with you, chat way to him
  13. They are all wonderful, lovely photos i couldnt pick a favourite
  14. Here's a picture Judy,i found on the web. This amazon is easy to tame and considered one of the best talkers. It is not as popular as some of the brighter amazons, It's says they are very gentle & like company of other birds, but i am unsure if he will get along with my greys ? Need to think with my head & not my heart
  15. It is normal for young greys to play/scratch on the bottom of the cage.My two did this for a few weeks when they were baby's. He should grow out of it.I would personally put a towel or blanket in his cage for protection with the newspaper on top for his poop!. You will need to change the paper each day so he's not playing in his own mess, but it is a baby thing.
  16. Hi All, i have been asked by a friend who is involved with a parrot rescue here in the UK, if i would consider a mealy amazon who is needing a new home.As you may know Coco my grey is a rescue & came to me this way. He is 5 years old, has has a really bad wing clip & has no flight at all, doesnt step up ! , can be tickled by anyone & is noisey. Thats all i know. Does anyone own such a bird or know anything about them ? i have a lot of thinking & research to do !!
  17. Zooky many thanks for the update Mende has a special place in our hearts now, whatever you decide will be right for you & mende.Take care & keep us informed, we are here for you.
  18. Dayo sounds a well fed bird Kim, do you feed the bean mixture in addition to his main diet ? eg pellets or seed mix ?
  19. dareuk wrote: It's not a case of us coming down from our high horses ! You choose to teach your grey bad language, that's your personal choice. My personal opinion which i am entitled to have is that i personally dont see the point in teaching a parrot to swear , what does it achieve ? I think it is totally irresponsible.
  20. No Apple Joe I am just the classroom assistant the teachers get the apples Gosh it was hard work after being on vacation for 6 weeks !!
