They dont need any supplements to digest their food.I do give my greys cuttlebone as a treat they just love to grind it up & make a mess. Some owners do give calcium supplements in the form of a water soluable solution, here is an intresting link on Calcium & greys . http://www.greyforums.net/forums/bird-food/68248-cuttlebone.html#68248

  22. It does sound as if they are showing mating behaviour as BMustee has said Secure perches will be needed for mating.African Grey males mount the female to mate,The birds will mate often, and for several weeks, running up to the time when she will lay. Before mating the male will feed the hen and display to her, he holds his wings out and jumps about on the perch in a sort of dance. The male will then spend many days in the nest box checking it out, before the female goes in to lay.

  24. Hi William & welcome, look forward to hearing more from you
  25. hi Lisa, The recommended daily amount should be no more than 1/2 a teaspoon.Personally i feed it every other day.The palm oil has a high anti oxident value & is an excellant source of beta carotenes which is converted in to vitamin A.It can improve feather condition, allowing new feather to grow in strong & glossy,it also has been suggested that it aids some greys to decrease the need to pluck. It aids in breeding, and generally promotes overall good health.
