Yes there is something called slip claw,Slip claw is when the rear toe is pointing forward along with the other three toes & is usually discovered when youngsters leave the nest for the first time & is something that has occurred during the development of the chick,so your grey never jumped on the perch !!I advise a vet's visit ASAP To help your bird, the vet will probably use a thin strip of sticky tape to secure the toe to the leg, The bird will need this for a couple of weeks.

Hi Amber & Welcome, Im sorry to hear Tuki isnt as friendly as she was,the majority of animals will bite if you go poking fingers in their cages !Perhaps you will have to go back to the basics with her,Does she step up for you,how does she interact with you as a family ? Has there been any big changes in her life/routine that may have caused her to act this way ? I'm sure with time you can win her back round

  4. Yep the morning one is always a biggy :sick: I would try to remove your grey so he can poop, perhaps a stand or somewhere,many greys dont like to poo in their cages.

  12. sorry but as BMustee has said we are not qualified vets but we are here to advise & the advice you will get is that your grey needs to see an avian vet ASAP.Please keep us informed on the prognosis.

  15. No dont celebate easter Judy here in the shops they sell easter eggs, chocolate, candy etc.. people swap eggs & the kids eat too much choccy :sick: Are you religous ?
  16. Just a word of caution make sure your grey is unable to catch her claws in the fabric you used, i have heard some sad tales of birds catching their toes.

  20. heather how about a shape sorter,like little kids use to put the different shapes in the correct hole.I get loads of ideas from looking through the baby selections of toys at the store,Easy puzzles a few pieces of course !!Did you have a nut puzzle,usually made from acrylic, you can pit a treat or nut inside & harrison will have to figure out how to retrieve the treat

  23. Birds are supposed to preen a lot. They spend most of their day preening their feathers. Their feathers are very important to them and they have to keep them in tip top shape 24/7. If the bird didn't preen himself, then you should worry.
