2. Loofa - You are definately a member :-) OOoooOOoooUuuUUuuUUuCcccCCcChhHhhHhhHhH!!!
3. Judy - I knew i was forgetting the most important actor :-) Shawzy4 - Interesting. My Great x3 Grandfather came to the US from Scotland in the late 1700s. Do you know if you still have that family line here in California?
4. Shawzy4 - Thanks for starting this Topic :cheer: I live in the San Joaquin Valley of California which is considered the "Bread Basket" of the Nation. It produces around 35% of the fruit and produce for most of the Nation. The City I live in is a small City of 120,000 and is at the base of the foothills at the bottom of Sequoia Nation Park where the Giant Sequioa Trees are. Plenty of thing's to do such as Boating, Snow skiing, Backpacking in the Mountains, off roading, Motocross and much more!! So most of us here are very active in these things. The Beach, Disneyland,Hollywood and other such places are only a 3 hour drive, so it's a great location. I work 3 hours away in San Jose (Silicon Valley) where the High Tech Jobs are for Electronic and Software Engineers are plentiful. No, just because I live in California, I do not go have Coffee with Brad Pitt...:-) ....had to add this for the Women on this Forum Karma + for You Shawzy4!!
5. Hi All - Just a reminder as I posted a few days ago "This contest will end on July 31st, so please get your ideas in if you have some. If this stays dormant for more than 3 days, with out an entry. I think we should stop any further waiting time and start voting on a winner." If you have Idea's, and I know you do :woohoo: please submit them!! Were waiting ....To catch the next Idea !!! {Sports-000200F0}
6. Lidia - LOL, your spot-on :woohoo:
7. Hi Toki, What a great looking Grey! Your photos and description of Toki's settling down in your home are all enjoyed by all of us :-) I love to hear updates and see new photo's and I know others here do to! Thanks for taking the time to put this together and share it with us!! Karma + to You!!
8. All, Ceasar is going to make a new Video!! Let's all get our Photos submitted early to be sure they are in it. The Theme of this Video is Happy, Fun, Light Hearted, Funny or just plain Whimsical :woohoo: I know once this is done, it will be something that will make us smile and probably experience a couple of goo Belly laughs too!!
9. Hi - Talon and Judy. I'm glad I started your morning out with a smile
10. Talon - So Talon didn't have "Betty Davis" Eye's ;-)
11. Miltie - Just rub it in ;-) That is an excellent price! As CD said, you won't have a problem getting your Grey to stand on it. Especially since it will be young and open to being trained. Dayo just stepped right on to the perch for me when I tried weighing him on Saturday.
12. Joe - Crossbreed LOL!!!:woohoo: It is funny looking. Dayo and the rest of this clutch have been scratching the carpet, blanket or whatever they are on for about 4 weeks now. I have read in a few articles on Greys in the wild of how they have observed them digging along lake shores and streams in the soft wet ground for "Stuff"...not sure what. We need to get a video of this and put it to the "Chicken Dance" song
13. Shawzy4 - Welcome to becoming an "experienced" member :-) Wife - Not funny, I believe Killer is possessed and will take the proper items next visit to perform an exorcism. Judy - I am not fearful of the "Grey from Hell" and certainly not Dayo. I am more afraid of how I might instinctively smack him to the ground the next time he flies at me. Which I know would not be the right thing to do, but you know reflexes  ..... Oops, sorry, didn't mean to knock out your "Grey from hell" ...as they look on on horror :woohoo: Lidia - Please do not encourage my Wife
14. Talon LOL!! Yeah, the other error factor, is how experienced the person performing these visual indicators is. I would imagine if you had visibly studied say 200 Grey's and noted the slight differences based on the sex of the Grey. Maybe they could obtain a 80 -95 percent accuracy. But, one of us, looking at one or maybe three, would never reach that level of accuracy. I would think anyway :-)
15. Wow, these are all great songs! I can only think of one and it may not be appropriate, but what the heck. How about "Wind beneath my Wings" by Bet Meddler?
16. Personally, for $20, I'll stick with recommending DNA as the most accurate. It would be really interesting to do a "Blind" study of a group. Take 50 Grey's, that have been DNA tested and see how the "Visual" indicators measure up in accuracy.
17. Loviechick, You are a godsend to this Grey! :-) It sounds like as Talon already stated, a little time for her to get comfortable in the new surroundings will probably do the trick. Has she seemed to lower any of her "Walls" that you've noticed?

melon

Lidia, That's great information on Melons! Your right of course, the Skin/rinds basically lay in the dirt until harvested and pick up all kinds of stuff imaginable  Though they are washed, they are by no means disinfected. I must be more careful when cutting these up and prepping!

Post edited by: danmcq, at: 2007/07/23 16:47
19. The kindest thing to do, would be for them to turn the poor guy into a rescue that would care for him, nuture him back to good health and plummage. Then they would find a good home for him :-)
20. RdnkPara - LOL - Thanks for the comments
21. What an experience you have had! Great looking Grey, thanks for the photo links of his growth. :-) Keep the stories and photo's coming!!!
22. Hi All, CD is going to make a new Video of all the Members that have posted their Photo's. 23. Beccy - You said it, the health and well being of your Grey. If I was in a state of anxiety, I would do the same as boomer :woohoo: In fact, I bought a scale even though Dayo is not home yet. Yes, I paid too much probably $69 with perch, bowl and shipping included. It's a 1 gram, 1000g scale and worked perfect when I had Dayo home Saturday, he stood on the perch like a good boy :-)
