  1. Speaking of towling assistant.... I know now that Gina doesn't like my girlfriend touching her while she is laying on her back. (she lets me lay her on her back) I was trying to look at her wing, and my better half touched her, soon after there were 2 in the house that were bleeding
  2. I've got the styptic pencils on the way, but I don't think they'll be necessary tonight. I haven't seen any additional drops, but she still seems to be favoring that wing (to be expected). Thank you (and CD) so much for my little flipping out moment.
  3. I sent my better half to wal-mart to look for some styptic powder. Gina seems to be calmer now. Hopefully it was a false alarm. I'm watching her close. I've just heard stories about bleeding feathers killing birds.
  4. I'm 35 minutes from the nearest pet store and they're closed anyway.
  5. Gina fell earlier, and now she has what appears to bea a feather bleeding, I need ideas. No vets in my area
  6. DWI An old guy’s car collides with a young guy’s car and both are demolished. The two crawl out of the wreckage, amazed that neither of them was hurt in the accident. The old guy says, "Look at this miracle! This must surely be a sign from God that we should meet and be friends and live our lives in peace for the rest of our days." "Sure," says the young guy, convinced the old man’s crazy. "And look at this!" says the old guy, reaching back into his car. "A miracle! My car is demolished, but this bottle of 12-year-old Scotch didn’t break. Surely God wants us to drink and celebrate our good fortune." Again the young guy agrees, so the old guy opens the bottle and passes it to him. The young guy smiles and takes several huge swigs, then tries to hand it to the old guy, who, to his surprise, refuses. "Aren’t you having any?" asks the young guy. "No, thanks," replies the old guy. "I’ll wait for the police."
  7. I didn't know about the tomatos either. I gave Gina homemade lasagna the other night that was loaded with tomato sauce and stewed tomatos. And zandische, I gave Gina some fresh chopped garlic the other day and she loved it. I just gave her small pieces so she wouldn't go overboard
  8. I got the medium and would suggest it. The collar on the small probably wouldn't be big enough for Kip's neck.
  9. Parrotsupercenter.com is where I got mine. I actually drove to the store and picked it up, but they ship them for free. $34.95

  12. I would, but the previous owner took it, and CD only wants your own material. I tried to get the other bird, but it didn't work out:(

  14. I wasn't allowed to get a baby, better half wouldn't let me. But here's the pic the previous owner sent: And after she got adjusted to our home:
  15. If it's a short trip, I leave the TV on and Gina will just keep by her cage, so I leave her out. If I'm gone longer, I put her in her cage and leave the radio on, because my tv is a plasma and they're not known for longevity, and they use lots of electricity. Since Gina sits right next to the computer desk, I can put it on the lcd which is on anyway and she can watch it right next to her cage. The radio isn't cheap either, in the last month, my light bill has gone up $40, where it was always within $5 before  I wasn't going to use it everyday, but maybe the 2x a week like talon said. How long is the dvd before it loops back? I'm planning on getting Gina some company within 3 weeks though.B)
  16. Anybody got the Bird Sitter dvd? I was thinking of ordering it for Gina, since she really liked seeing the birds on the Aviator Harness dvd. How long are they?, and are they worth it? Where's the cheapest place to get them?
  17. Gina was February 2, 2006. She came here May 30, 2007

Anybody know much about them? Their temperment? I saw one that someone had up for adoption that used to be a plucker, but has since grown in most of it's feathers. I wanted to get gina someone to talk to while I'm not at home. (Seperate cages of course).
  20. I had only had Gina for 2 weeks or so, and she seemed skittish around my infant neice at first, but after a few hours of watching her, Gina let her pet her and didn't mind at all.
  21. I like the red tails too, it gives them some color. Although, I wouldn't mind having a white tailed Grey, it'd be pretty cool. It would also completely match my living room. So far, the only red thing in the room is Gina's tail, everything is grey, black, or silver.
  22. I have seen pics, there was one for sale in San Antonio, Texas for like $1100 in a cage a month or so ago.
  23. Good to hear. I can still reply
  24. Oh, I'm 5'10" and I'm eye level with the perch on the playtop on mine
  25. My cage is 24w x 22d x 34h on the inside, it's very similar to that one, the only real difference is mine only has 1 ladder on the playtop. I do believe there are 2 sizes though, the one like mine, and one that is 18 x 18, which is too small.
