2. One more thing.... Was there anything we could've done to get you to join sooner??
3. I haven't had much time lately to welcome everyone personally, but And For Joining!!
4. OMG.. Every 2 hours is a chore, that's for sure. Which one's mine?

6. One suggestion... Get an Avaitor harness so she can get used to it at a young age. Believe me, it's no fun on an older bird:blink:
7. Gina's whole album... I've really got to get a camera http://s131.photobucket.com/albums/p302/mchl_wood/Gina/

9. I'm in Texas (US). It's usually hot, but we have all climate zones in 1 state. Plains, mountains, hills, wooded areas, desert, coast, wetland. You can drive for 12 hours and still be in the same state!!
10. It's just in case their bird is carrying something, or yours is for that matter. It would be terrible to find that one bird is immune to something that it is carrying and the other bird isn't. Better safe than sorry
11. Here's the e-mail she sent me back: I am located in Copperas Cove Texas but I am willing to drive an hour in any direction for $40. We do still have Molly, she is $350 firm w/out cage or $500 with a large cage. I can provide a small temp cage for $30. She is cage aggressive but if she is off her cage she is sweet and will allow you to hold and pet her. She prefers men to women. She does pluck. From what we know she was abused for the first couple years of her life. She is 9 now and we know she hasnt been treated badly for 2 years but prior to that we know she was abused just not for how long. She started plucking before we got her, by the time we got her it was a habit. We have tried to stop it but our various efforts have just stressed her out more. She actually doesn't pluck, she chews, therefore she never bleeds when she does it. She also leaves all of her down feathers so she looks like a baby bird. She is not DNA sexed but we do believe she is a female, she may not be. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. Thanks.

13. Now I have some instructions: 1. Take all items and pack neatly in a cardboard box. 2. Tape said box shut securely 3. Take said box to local post office and ship to my address. 4. Enjoy pictures of Gina playing with said items

15. Come on and join us!! I see everyone 'lurking'
16. ^^ That is VERY commendable I would be willing, let me see if I can get a little more info. I sent them an e-mail earlier.

18. There are people in the dallas area on the "other" forum, maybe one of them could help. (CD knows who I'm talking about ) The bird is in East Texas area. East of Dallas. Chances are.. it's within a 1 hour drive of me. If you look in my profile, I'm on the map Post edited by: Number6, at: 2007/07/22 04:39

Post edited by: Number6, at: 2007/07/22 04:58
19. I would, but vacation broke me. I don't even know of any bird rescues in the area.
20. Talon wrote: Yep, I just got Gina's put in today. I used to have to keep newspaper around her cage because she walks along the top of it, then just picks a spot to drop one on the carpet :pinch: When it gets dirty, take it outside and hose it off
21. OH, another thing Kathy, I take Gina out and put her cage on the porch at least once a week. Now I wouldn't do it in the direct sun on our 900 degree days, but if it is acceptable to do yard work in, you can put him/her outside. It's a good time for a bath too. Just watch him/her for signs of exhaustion like you would a child.
22. Talon wrote: It's powder coated, I've seen this same person selling them in different colors as well-- guess you'd just have to ask. The cages don't get many bids, so you can get them for the $99, but they charge $100 to pick up, and $169 to ship. (that's where they make their money)
23. More Texas folks! That makes 3, me, loofa, and another member that lurks occasionally (name omitted, lol). The pet store is just telling you it has to be stainless so you buy it. Mine's powdercoated, as are many other members. Here's a store on e-bay, it's in Frisco, so you could just pick it up.. Price isn't bad either: http://stores.ebay.com/WPIC-PET-STORE_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZQ2d33QQftidZ2QQtZkm $200 if you pick it up:

Post edited by: Number6, at: 2007/07/22 02:05
24. Not sure where exactly they are, but it's in my area. No $$ though. And I couldn't imagine the vet bills:( They also say they have a much younger grey that they carry with them everywhere. Guess they want to just trade this one in:angry:
