Monique brings up some good points, if you want the pet and bonded to you keep it that way, but if you want to breed her then you will in all likeihood lost your pet to its mate. Personally I would go for the pet.

Well good, Geoff, glad to hear that, I must say I did not have Josey cry for her nest mates as she did not have any. She was hand fed as a single baby but she had a small stuffed animal to cuddle with and I don't remember her crying for that.

But it can be done Monique, it takes time and patience to feed a little less seeds and a little more pellets and eventually it will be mostly pellets.

Well I will find out when Josey's feathers grow out, she has been clipped since I got her.

Most all will stop when they are full, so you do not need to worry about overfeeding, just wasting food when they throw it out.

Josey spends little time on the bottom of her cage, she likes to be up in the top part banging her toys around.

I avoid teenagers too, especially if they have snakes.:angry:

Give him some time for the vocabulary, some don't talk until they are around a year old, mine included. Sounds like things are going well but slow but soon you two will bond so have faith.
