    Terrible twos ?

That sounds like some good information Lidia, and you speak from experience since you went thru it many years ago. I think a lot of us have greys about the same age that we will all be going thru this phase about the same time, maybe we can help each other get thru it to the other side.
  2. Always when you are on the phone or maybe trying to have a conversation with someone else in the room. I have always heard that 2 together will bond with each other and not you but it looks like you have proven that wrong, Jeaniebean.

    problems.

Greylover, I'm glad to hear the biting has stopped, maybe it was just a phase, thanks for letting us know.
  4. You have to keep them in separate tanks don't you, if I remember correctly, very beautiful fish.
  5. Hi Kara, they may get along and they may not, just don't force anything and it may take a lot of time before you can actually put them together. Of course what do I know, nothing, I have my grey for companionship and not for breeding. Maybe one of the other members has a suggestion for a book about breeding greys for you. Good luck to you and welcome here to our family.

    Contest

I guess there is not many story tellers on this forum according to the entries so far, Tari, I'm sorry this hasn't done so well yet, but maybe some of them need a little more time to add their story. I'm trying to figure out if I have one to tell, will let you know if I do.:cheer:
  7. DNA sexing is the only true way to determine whether female or male without opening up the bird and checking that way, but who wants to do that.
  8. Let your husband be the one to give it treats, things it really loves to eat, that might be one way for him to get back in the good graces with Ollie.
  9. What a lovely tank of goldfish, I like to look at others fishtanks, but I have never had the inclination to have fish, except for a betta fish. My daughter-in-law has a pretty good sized one and my late mother-in-law had a huge one, maybe 100 gal or better and she had a huge goldfish, 9 or 10 inches, but it finally died. Thanks for showing us your tank.
  10. Well that is a new one on me, Mandiskem, light blue or dark blue tells the sex, anyone else out there got an idea if this is true?:side:
  11. Way to go there Geoff, your bird likes music, go ahead and play the guitar for him, he might surprise you.
  12. Thanks Lidia, but its the thought that counts, but since I have one to give you are it.
  13. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww how cute is he, a real doll. He's just unsure of himself and a baby but as his confidence grows so will his agility and he will be so sure footed he will be all over the place in no time. Congrats on bringing him home. Try soaking the pellets in some juice and see if that makes it more tempting to eat.:cheer:
  14. If you built the desk yourself, then you can build yourself another one, and another one, and another one and you get the picture. I have to keep Josey's cage away from the wall enough so she cannot get to the picture hanging on the wall behind her cage, she has already put a nick or two in it.
  15. Hey I'm with ya there, a nap always helps.:side:
  16. Some people make good money selling the most unusual things on ebay, like Jesus's face on a piece of toast, some people are stupid or maybe they are just born that way.
  17. It comes out more like jibberish to start out then it becomes more clear. It is amazing what they can pick up and say.
  18. How wonderful of you to build an aviary for your birds, I am not close enough to help you but if you do a search you should find out the information you need to complete the aviary. Welcome to our family and here to the forum, we look forward to hearing more about your aviary and please post some photos of it when it is finished, we would love to see it, who knows it may inspire us to do the same. Feel free to post a photo of your grey so we can admire it.
  19. I don't know about paying them, but you couldn't pay me enough to see it.{Feel-bad-00020079}
  20. I usually throw them away, but someone in our bird club makes jewelry out of them, some are very pretty.
  21. Not to rain on your parade but you will more than likely experience some aggressive behavior and a few bites in your lifetime with Storm. My Josey is a little over 1 year old and has never bitten me but I know the day will come that she will, she still has to go thru puberty yet and that is the real test.
  22. Part of it is the fact that she is a baby, but they have their own personality so you may have one that is more outgoing and friendly than most. They do get more independent when they reach sexual maturity so they can be a little more difficult to handle. I'm glad you have one that is willing to go to most anyone. Welcome to our family and looking forward to hearing more about your Storm.
  23. Well that might be safe, Geoff, but I wouldn't want to take the chance, I would never forgive myself if I killed them that way. But you sound like you know your stuff, so maybe it is ok.
  24. I don't have any trouble getting Josey back into the cage at bedtime, she knows its time and probably is ready for sleep anyway. You might just have to pick him up and put him in if he won't go willingly.
  25. Me too, and I am letting Josey's feathers grow out too so she can fly again. But once in a while a feather will get bent some but she straightens it out in no time.
