  1. Aww is he camera shy, he slipped right into the water when he realized he was being filmed, he is a cute little bugger, what is his name? Thanks for sharing him with us.B)
  2. Thanks Jo for posting those links for us;)
  3. Oh gosh Tari I hope it turns out to just be an inner ear infection as a stroke will be more of a problem to deal with, I will keep Tinker Bell in my thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery.
  4. I might be wrong but I think teflon is the product that makes it non stick so that would mean any non stick pan is off limits, you can check out those pans in the store but I bet teflon is mentioned on all the ones that are non stick. Maybe someone else who knows more will shed some more light on this subject but for the time being I would toss them, its not worth your bird's life.
  5. Jo if I were you I would get rid of the teflon pans as we have had others lose birds because of them, it is not worth the risk to your baby's life.
  6. Amanda, what a pair of greys Jack and Jill are, they are so adorable and both are having fun with those balls, thanks so much for sharing them with us, you must be so proud:laugh: B)
  7. We need to know a little more information about your grey before we can try to help you with your problem. How old is your grey and how long have you had him? Did you get him as a baby? Does he spend a lot of time caged or does he spend time with the family? Has anything changed in the household about the time he started plucking? Its normal for them to preen themselves but not to the point of being excessive. I would not smear any vaseline on his feathers, not good for him or his feathers. Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you and this grey, like what is his name?
  8. Matt, what are you doing in the girl's thread, can't you read, its for girls only, guys no looking     thats ok Matt if you think its funny, we like to give the guys a hard time, all in good fun:laugh:
  9. Amen Dave and thank you very much for some excellent advice as always:kiss: B)
  10. No Matt but do expect to have a perpetual 5-year old child for a lifetime committment.

    Step Up/Down

Thank you Ms Tracy:kiss: B) :cheer:
  12. Matt you won't have to change your routine when you get your grey, you just continue on with your life as it is now and the grey will fit in nicely. There are no major changes that have to be made other than providing food, cleaning out the cage and including your bird in your daily life. During the week I work away from home so I feed Josey a warm meal and give fresh water, mabye changing the papers on the tray under the cage floor before heading out the door. She is in her cage while I am gone but usually when I return she is out, I just open her top door and if she wants out she comes out. She either plays on the playtop or I put her on a playstand while I fix dinner and do some other things around the house. She joins me for dinner and then pretty much keeps me company for the remainder of the evening until she goes into her cage for sleep. On the weekends she usually stays in her cage part of the day while I am about the house doing stuff and maybe outside for a while, then she is allowed out to do the same as during the week after I get home from work. She gets some oatmeal with some baby food in it for breakfast, I fill up one of her bowls with pellets, another with a seed, nut and legume mixture and another bowl with some fresh veggies and fruits. She also gets more veggies with the evening meal usually warm ones. Please take a cruise thru the bird food room for lots of ideas and suggestions as to what to feed and even some recipes if you can cook:lol: B)

    Step Up/Down

Matt, read this thread I provided a link to for some good advice on teaching the step up command: http://www.greyforums.net/forums/training/28103-stepping-up-rekay-question.html
  14. Thanks Matt for resizing that for us, now if Amanda will take it out of her post that would be great or you can tell her how to resize them to post. Those two are some good looking babies Amanda, thanks so much for sharing them with us.
  15. Amanda, you need to resize your pictures, they are too large to really view them properly.
  16. Then I am sure if she needs a nap she takes one since she has plenty of opportunity to do so.
  17. Thanks Kim for the advice, it helps when someone knows firsthand about wood floors, finishers and the fumes they create. They would be worse for the grey than they would be for us since their respiratory systems are more sensitive to the fumes. I thought with proper ventilation the grey could stay but now I know different, thanks Kim for clarifying that for me as it could have been fatal for his bird.
  18. I think most greys will nap during the day if it is quiet and no one is around so that may be ok for Sammie. Some of the members here do use a sleep cage, I personally don't, Josey remains in her big cage and I cover her with a big black sheet.
  19. I think so too, Madi:sick: {Feel-good-0002006E} Sorry I couldn't help myself:blush:
  20. siobha9 wrote: Very interesting propostition Siobhan, maybe Matt will take you up on it as I would like to see that myself and others would too.:cheer:
  21. Thanks Matt and Mark for the tips on posting photos for Amanda and we also have a section in FAQ that explains how to post pics also, have a read thru.
  22. I doubt it Matt for greys do not get along with each other except for maybe clutch mates and if they are raised together. If you do take your grey to your friend's house you need to keep them apart for it could get nasty and you don't want them to hurt each other.
