  1. I know why I am not thinner, I refuse to play that game, if it gets thrown to the floor then it stays there at least for a while.
  2. Bless her little heart, I hope this gets better soon and you two can get back to normal, it sure does hurt when one of our fids is under the weather, get well soon Neytiri.
  3. Hello Jane and welcome to our family. Congrats on your new baby to be, a nice addition to your existing flock, I can imagine your life is pretty full and you are busy but you are blessed with their companionship. We have an other birds room where you may share some pictures of the flock if you have some.
  4. Hopefully she won't have to wear it for too long, when the meds kick in and the gland heals then the picking should stop so just hang in there for the next few days, this too shall pass.
  5. Hello Toran and welcome to our family. Congrats on your new grey to be, know you are anxious and counting down the days until he/she arrives to start the rest of your lives together. You have come to the right place to learn all you need to know before that big day comes so browse thru the threads and glean what you can from them. I also have a sun conure, Sunny was my first parrot but not my last, I also have a 7 year old Cag and a tiel, that is my limit as it is stretching it with only 2 shoulders to sit on. We have an other birds room if you would share a picture or two of Echo.
  6. Thanks for the laugh Dan, that little chipmunk was not going to stand for the other snitching his nuts he had worked so hard to store away.
  7. What a senseless act but we will keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
  8. Hello Gus and welcome to our family. How old is Echo and how long have you had him/her? Would love to see some pictures and of Nesta too, we have an other birds room where you may share them. About that bite I just bet there was a reason but it just wasn't apparent to you, sometimes we don't read their body language correctly and we pay for it.
  9. Some greys never do this for their owners so don't feel left out, some people think it is gross to have a bird bring up their food and offer it to you but its one way they show affection, Marco just uses other means to show you she loves you.
  10. She isn't going to like that collar but it will prevent her from doing any more damage until it heals up, bless her little heart.
  11. You have a beautiful flock of birds, love the ringneck, we have another member who has a mynah and they are awesome, thanks for sharing them with us.
  12. Cheeky is a beautiful grey, I can see why she has that name, that second picture says "Heres looking at you Bud"!
  13. Poor dear Neytiri must be so distressed to have done that but sometimes it gets worse before it gets better, hope she gets thru this ordeal fast and you will do fine so quit worrying, please let us know when you find out something for we care.
  14. Well congrats on your blooms, I have never tried hoyas but its great when you are rewarded for all your hard work getting this plant to bloom so you must have done something right, very pretty I must say.
  15. Awesome when you first hear it you think no it couldn't be but yep there is no stopping Felix now.
  16. Hello Mizuki and welcome to our family. Budgie was a precious little tiel, so sorry for you loss, I too have a tiel and they are wonderful companions. Quakers are another bird with a lot of personality, thanks for sharing Frodo's picture with us. As far as noise greys tend to be one of the quieter parrots so it should not be a problem with having an apartment and its good you are doing your research before you commit to owning one of these magnificient creatures so read thru the threads at your heart's content and you will be fine.
  17. Hello GC and welcome to our family. It looks like you have quite a flock and they all sound like fun, love the grey's name, I just bet she is Cheeky. She looks beautiful from the picture you shared with us, I love how she is standing. Would love to see some pictures of your other birds, we have an other birds room where you may share them if you like.
  18. No she is not sick, she was regurgitating for you which is a sign of affection, when she does this say "thank you but no thanks" because you don't want her doing this a lot, if she had flung her head while doing it that would be vomiting. It sounds like she is doing very well but you need to work a little more on getting her to step up when asked, try a couple of practice sessions every day and soon she will be stepping up every time she is asked to.
  19. Oh yes Val, once you thank someone for a post on the right hand side will come up remove thanks in case you change your mind. Admins and moderators can delete whole threads if necessary.
  20. That's good to know Daniela and Julie will be so relieved, thanks so much.
  21. That is scary but at least it was good practice, we don't get tornadoes here because of our mountains, love my mountains, at least you have a basement to go to.
  22. Exactly Val, if a member's posts are deleted then their post count goes down by how many were deleted.
  23. You might look to your avian vet for some do provide boarding services, you might have a family member who wouldn't mind coming in and taking care of your grey or maybe a local bird club might have some members who wouldn't mind taking yours in while you are away.
  24. OMG Dave, you almost made me toss my cookies with that picture, no worms for me or grubs, not in my diet, not even with sauce on them.
  25. Yes its good to have you back but to me you have never left for we have stayed in touch thru other avenues of communication, its good to have you back in the fold on greyforums, now get busy and post.
