Hello Wendy and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Molly. Molly needs time to settle in to feel comfortable in her new home, everything is new and different to her so be very patient with her and don't rush her into something she is hesitant about until she shows she is ready. Have you done a lot of research about the greys, if not please do read thru the many threads for lots of useful information that may help you with dealing with her and do ask questions, no matter how silly they may seem and we will help you in any way we can. Would you share some pictures of Molly with us as we would love to see her.

Wendy, make sure she has food in her cage and do not offer her any food outside of the cage, hunger will force her into her cage and when she goes inside you will have her trapped, then close the door, problem solved. :cheer:

Hello Donna and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Coco. Thats so sweet how Coco welcomes you home, they really are such endearing creatures and mine also continues to amaze me with her vocabulary and her intellect. I too lost a beloved cat this year and I know you miss Patrick very much and please accept my condolences on your loss. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads and do ask any questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Coco you would like to share with us please do as we would love to see him.

Just be careful of letting your bird get too close to them while in use, they do get kind of hot on the outside. Yes you should try to make some time to get on the forum more often, you have been missed.

Hello Kimberly and welcome to the family, so glad you found us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this grey you are getting. I commend you for taking in a rehomed bird, there are so many out there in need of good homes and it seems like you want to do what is in the best interest of the bird. You are doing exactly what you should do in finding out all you can about the grey and you came to the right place for help and advice. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so read thru them at your leisure and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that Mackenzie will be coming to your home and that she brings much joy and happiness to your life. I have already seen a picture of her and she is a beautiful Tag but we are anxious to see more pictures when you do bring her home, I have my fingers crossed. -
That sounds about right for your baby's eyes are dark in the pic in your avatar if that is a recent pic, they will lighten up as time goes on.

Thanks Carolyn, I may have some of that which means I can get right on this.:cheer:

Hello Ann and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you. You are performing such a service to so many people to take in these rescues and you are so right, with the economy the way it is so many people have had to give up a part of their family and what you do shows what a big heart you have. We will continue to see high numbers of birds, cats, dogs and other pets given up all due to the economic conditions and there is not enough people out there that are willing or able to take in these pets but I commend you for doing so. Your Charlie is a lucky ekkie to be taken care of by you and even though he is a plucker I am sure with your love and attention he will do great. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so browse thru them and do not hesitate to ask any question you may have and we will help you in any way we can.

I just love the baby pictures with their dark eyes, Ash is a lovely grey, thanks for sharing them with us.

Just remember to provide lots of toys and foraging opportunities to keep them busy, we do have some threads here on just that very subject so do a search to find them. They need that to keep them occupied or they will find other ways and that may include plucking but they are capable of spending some time alone.

I slept in this morning as I usually do on the weekends and had a visit from my daughter and her son who usually come on the weekends and grandson was hungry as he always is so granny gave him a snack. I sit down with the Sunday paper and read the news and go over the ads for this week at the stores. Not doing much today, just relaxing and spending some time here as I usually do, I can't stay away it seems. Its still windy here today and cooler but its nice on the inside, will play with my birdies:kiss:

Hello Steve and welcome to the family, so glad you have decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey you want to get. You are doing the right thing in finding out all you can before you make the final plunge into greyt ownership for if you know what you are getting into then you will be better prepared. My grey is left alone for over 8 hours a day 5 days a week and she is fine, I also have a sun conure in a separate cage but they are company for each other and I leave a radio on to provide background noise. She does fine for as soon as I get home she is out for the remainder of the evening, as long as you make quality time with them is more important than quantity of time. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so read thru them at your leisure and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.

Congrats Pat on the good news about Gizmo's blood work and you will have him balanced out on his calcium and vitamins levels very soon, now like Shelia said the real fun begins but you are doing such a good job with him so far, I look forward to hearing how it continues to go with Gizmo and the rest of your flock. Well that is proof positive that it is never too late for them to start talking, 13 1/2 years old, I guess he just decided one day to just cut the crap and say something and now he doesn't know how to shut up, thanks Jen for sharing that little story with us, gives the ones with non talking greys hope.

Twinkle and Jim Jim are mating, well well well how about that, then maybe you better take a crash course in breeding tiels but congrats if they succeed in laying fertile eggs.
