1. That sounds about right, let him have his temper tantrum, whether it be a bell or the thermostat he is venting and that is good for him but I had to laugh. {Feel-good-0002006E}
2. Josey is right footed most of the time and thanks Sandra for sharing that link with us.
3. Do I know Dave or do I know Dave, only I know for sure! {Feel-good-000200BB}
4. I take Josey into the shower and use a handheld shower head on her, I can get under her wings and all over with it, she does not like it much but will tolerate it, I then finish her off with a spray of aloe vera juice to make the feathers soft and her skin supple. You will just have to try several methods and see what works best and what Charlie will tolerate, we don't have one of the lucky ones who love a good bath or shower.

6. """I'll keep a ready cam handy!""" You better:laugh: :woohoo:
7. I knew you could do it Terri and she is something else, I love how she cavorts around on the table like she owns the place, opps:blush: she does own the place:whistle: doesn't she, thanks for capturing and sharing that with us.:laugh:
8. Well hello Raz, nice to hear from you again as you have been AWOL for a while, nice photo of Piper and that is a harness you made, interesting, is it similar to the aviator? Happy Holidays to you and your flock:)
9. Hello Lex and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey you are getting in January. No it doesn't matter where you are from, a member is a member regardless of where they live but I do think that a majority of us do live in the USA. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them at your leisure and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Would love to see some pictures of this grey if you can manage sharing some with us.

Post edited by: judygram, at: 2008/12/18 02:07
10. I will not micro chip Josey not that I feel she would never escape from me but I just don't think it is worth the trouble to do it and more than likely like Dave said if someone finds her they aren't going to check her for it, besides there is always the slight risk of some type of infection from it and I am not going to take that chance.

12. Hi David, I would not recommend looking for a grey in a pet store as a first choice, why don't you check out this website as you can do a search by state to find breeders in your area. www.avianbiotech.com I commend you for looking into rescues and shelters for a grey as there are some that need a forever home but most that end up there do not usually stay for long. You can also ask your local avian vets for breeder recommendations as they might know of some in your area and those pet stores may divulge where you might look for one. Good luck to you in your search and be sure to come back and introduce yourself so we might get to know you a little better.
13. Caroline is about ready for Christmas but I am not, I haven't put my tree up yet or decorated the house, haven't shopped for the first present much less wrapped it, I have not done anything to get ready for Christmas, Bah Humbug. We took our family vacation last week and went to Disney World and that was basically our Christmas but we will get some gifts for the grandkids but that is all, I just have to get off my duff and get busy.:blush:
14. You know I have seen those basketball games sized for birds but just never thought Josey would be interested but I bet Bella would have a ball, pun intended:woohoo:
15. Feel free to ask any question you may have as there is usually someone on at all times to give you some advice.
16. I think you hit the nail on the head, Bella is an outgoing, gregarious blabber mouth all on her own for they do have their own personalities and I would surmise that most are not like that but you were lucky to get her. I can't wait to see a video of her.
17. Josey seems to lead a dull life compared to Bella, she just won't do those shenigans that Bella does and I am constantly amazed by Terri's stories of what she does to make her laugh so much but keep em coming for we love to hear them.:laugh: :lol: :cheer:
18. Bella, the poet and she didn't know it:laugh:
19. That was a really great question and one that I have thought about as I live in the country and we do have occasional power interruptions due to falling trees, wind, snow, ice or other disruptions. I was not aware they could handle temperatures down around freezing but I would never allow that to happen if I can help it. We do have a wood stove, a home made papa bear stove, we have 2 fireplaces and we have a building full of wood so that is our backup heat if the power goes off. What we do lack is a generator to run the well pump, fridge, freezer and hot water heater, those are the things you really miss when the power is off.
20. Good luck Terri, you are gonna have to be smarter than her to catch her in the act but I know you can do it!
21. Dan, one word of warning, watch out for those lessons as they can be painful, I speak from experience:whistle: Linda, I am not afraid of either Dan or Dave:kiss:
22. Terri it doesn't surprise me what Bella comes up with, you have an amazing grey, very smart and full of herself, quite the character and I love hearing your stories of her antics and feats. I hope you do catch this rhyming on video as it would be something to hear.:cheer:
23. Boocha wrote: Your husband is right!!! I think Cha Cha will do fine at home with Boozle for company and your neighbor friend coming over and seeing that they have food and water, have a great family get together.
24. I do hope the owner is found for this grey for it sounds like he was someone's precious pet and thanks to you Leanne for taking in this grey and doing what it takes to find his home and posting everywhere makes it more likely that he will be reunited with his flock.
25. It does sound promising doesn't it and maybe thats all it took for Maxi to show Tanner what those toys were made for, this may work out better than you thought. The poor bunny:blink: but I am sure Snowball will settle down soon, if he can get used to one bird then he can get used to two.:lol:
