  1. Your work is excellent Gina, thanks so much for looking into and getting a name and a phone number, good detective work and karma coming your way.B)
  2. I'm not Irish but I like that Irish toast. I wish everyone here a very Happy New Year and may the year 2009 be the best one yet.
  3. I have a sun conure and I can attest that she is the more aggressive of my two parrots and she does not get along with my grey either. She will try to nip at Josey and she used to be a little afraid of her at first but now she stands her ground. I have to keep them separated or Sunny will end up with the shortest end of the stick. I would have them on separate playstands when they are both out of the cages, that is what I do and I very seldom have both of them on my shoulder at the same time. You are right to be concerned for even though the conure is the aggressor, it will be the conure that will end up hurt very badly or killed by the grey.
  4. Well it was just a thought:whistle: :woohoo:
  5. Its hard not to cry when you read this but it is a beautiful piece, thanks Dan for sharing it with us.
  6. Awww, gotta love those conures and I don't think I have ever seen a yellow sided one before, I love his colors and he will be a welcome addition to your flock, thanks for sharing him with us.
  7. Glad to hear Rikki took it in stride, maybe she can give some lessons to Talon on the proper way to act at the vet's office, thanks for updating us Penny.
  8. Well I have never heard of this band but if you say they are good then I will take your word for it:laugh: now if you can catch this fancy footwork on video then we all might appreciate it very much:woohoo: I like your new arrangement, I would imagine it would work better for you and Pepper, thanks for sharing the pics with us.:cheer:
  9. Well it sounds like Malibu is already used to having dogs around so introducing a puppy to him won't be a new experience but a puppy can be rambunctious so introduce them slowly and keep your eyes on the puppy at all times. You may have to keep Malibu up and away from the puppy for quite a while until you find out how they are going to react to one another. But slow is the name of the game and never leave them together in the same room when Malibu is out of his cage. You may even have to pen the puppy up for a while when Malibu is out if things get too wound up and Malibu gets stressed so he has some time out of the cage to be more relaxed and not having to watch out for that new little bundle of energy. Others who have dogs that stay inside will chime in with their ideas and suggestions but what I gave you is a start.
  10. Hootie is a cutie, hey that rhymes:whistle:  and nice little playstand too, looks good to me even if it is your first try, you did great, thanks for sharing a few pics with us.
  11. Hello Cazy62 and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Holly. Is this screeching something she has been doing for a while now or did she just start this behavior? It will help to know a little more about you and Holly so we can get a grasp on how or why she is doing this. But I can tell you if she is getting attention when she does this no matter what the reaction is from you she will continue to do this for the reactions she gets from it. You will need to ignore her when she gets to screeching, I know that will be very hard to do but it is the only way to teach her that it serves no purpose if she gets no reaction from it, then she should do it less and less. We have some members here who will have more ideas and suggestions for you as some of them have had their greys for many years and are very knowledgeable in their behaviors and actions. We do have a lot of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them at your leisure and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. I assume that is a pic of Holly in your avatar, but if you have any other pics you would like to share with us we would be more than happy to see them.
  12. Hello Adhaincroi and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Roswell. Yes someone is missing her but you are doing all you can to find her owners and I commend you for that but if no one claims her then she will be yours. I would say she is not that old either if the eyes are not light yellow yet and especially since you mention that she is making grunty noises while acting like she wants to feed from your fingers. You will find lots about greys in our many threads so do read thru them at your leisure and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Roswell that you would like to share with us we would love to see them.
  13. You might get a faster response if you send them an email, if you go to their profile that option is availble.
  14. You dang skippy this is good stuff and who else would know any better than Dave. I think Cosmo is just imitating the handfeeding motion when they stick the syringe in their beak and they pump their head taking the formula.
  15. Astro is a cutie too, I also have a sun conure and they can scream but its too bad you had to give him up as I love my Sunny, she is a permanent shoulder ornament. Thanks for sharing a pic of him with us.
  16. That was so cute Jan and you picked the perfect music to go along with it, thanks for sharing it with us.
  17. I think you are getting the hang of it Rick, and Cosmo is one good looking Cag and that is one big cage.
  18. Was it treats that he has taken from you before? Maybe he just wasn't in the mood for what you offered but no I don't have any idea why he refused, maybe try again later.
  19. Nice stand Rick and Cosmo looks right at home on it, thanks for sharing it with us.
  20. Thats great to hear and you are so right, don't expect too much too soon, this will take time but it will be worth it, remember small steps. It sounds like her videos have helped, I may have to check them out myself, keep up the good work and keep us informed.
  21. I am so sorry Jessica and I thought this was coming but she is pain free now and flying over the Rainbow Bridge in all her glory. I know it meant so much to Rouge to have you close and holding her, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, you did all you could do for her.
  22. Hey, you did it, I knew you could, congrats on a job well done, now we want to see some more. Cosmo is cute, thats for sure, thanks for finally sharing a pic with us besides his avatar.
  23. Well thats good to hear Brittany, you have one of the lucky ones who will tolerate everyone and I hope it stays that way. B)
  24. Well let us know how it goes and whether they help you or not.
  25. She is a brave woman and I hope she can come to have a good relationship with Ash. Terri you have some good ideas too about the stepping up on a stick but that won't help with getting Ash back into the cage but putting your fingers over his talons might. You are so lucky that you can touch Bella pretty much anywhere and get away with it but you are right about the hand over their back, they don't like that at all and neither does Josey.
