  1. Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us some about you and your parrot, is it a grey?
  2. Talon wrote: I only have two birds but I don't want to know what I spend, it might shock me.
  3. There shouldn't be any chemicals involved in air conditioning equipment, the liquid that cools the air is contained in the unit outside so only the cool air is circulated inside. I have central air in my house and it causes no problems for my birds.
  4. I would advise you to call your avian vet, most of them have emergency numbers where you can reach someone even on the weekends.

    Rusty

He is a cute little bugger and those conures can be feisty, I know as I have a sun conure but she isn't fearless like Rusty
  6. I am so pleased to hear that Tobie is taking flight and he seems to be doing good, I bet in no time he will be so proficient that he will seem as if he has always been flighted. I hope one day Josey can do the same thing but it is a waiting game.
  7. A lot of us use photobucket, you can resize the pictures there and post the link.
  8. Woody is precious, what a sweet looking baby grey, thanks for sharing a pic with us.

  10. Those are some amazing shots Sanggay, she looks great when she takes flight and you do a wonderful job in capturing her in motion, thanks for sharing them with us.
  11. You really should get her checked out by an avian vet but this was a traumatic experience for her so it will take a while for her to feel safe again so give her some time to settle down.
  12. Hello Ondrejd and welcome to our family, you will find lots of information here on this site and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Hopefully you will figure the posting pics soon so we can see Woody.
  13. Aww man that feels so good, who wouldn't enjoy that and thanks for sharing that with us.

  20. Hello Buffy and welcome to our family. This forum is the best by far and we have many knowledgeable members who are willing to share what they know with others, you are going to love it here. Would love to see some pictures of your grey, btw what is her name?
  21. What a cute picture of Pakshi and congrats on finally getting a picture posted, photobucket makes it easy, thanks for sharing it with us.
  22. I'm glad to hear that Francis is fine and the vet reassured you he is ok but we do tend to worry, at least us females do, thanks for letting us know.
  23. Wow Lyn, those are some interesting facts on that site you shared with us, not surprising that the grey is on it too for being the best talker.
  24. I read your blog on Mooki and you do have a tough road to travel working with an abused bird but you have only had this bird for a short time, this will take much longer to overcome but it is possible. Please do interact with him as much as you can, you don't have to handle him much until he comes to trust you some and you will have to earn that. Include him in conversations, read the paper or a magazine to him for it will take a long time for him to get over his fear of hands. He might be in need of a vet visit if he hasn't had one in a while, just to be sure he is healthy. I do not have any experience working with a bird that was abused but we do have members who have worked with them and maybe some of them will chime in with some advice for you but time and patience on your part will be your best friends for now.
  25. I will echo the other's advice, you need to get this bird in to see an avian vet for a workup. I see one main problem and that is when you say he is in the basement and you and your family live upstairs, you need to bring your bird and his cage into the part of the house where you all spend your time. A grey craves human contact, you are part of his flock and he needs the attention, that could account for his lack of eating. They don't like being left to themselves all the time especially when they know the family is home. Please contact your vet and let us know what you find out.
