  1. I am sure this is more than you thought would be possible at this early stage of bringing Kopi into your home and your life and no one is happier for you than I am, you were meant to be a grey mom and I am so glad you have him, it was just meant to be. I look forward to your updates every day and if we could see your face right now your mouth would be grinning from ear to ear, so happy for you Dee.
  2. Harvey is just taking his good old time in talking, he has been busy causing much frustration for you Jill and now that he has that mastered he decides he will speak at least that is my opinion for what its worth. He might be slow coming out of the gate but watch out for there is more coming I'm sure of it.
  3. That Salsa is very clever in using that spoon to get her mash and what a messy face she has, must be yummy, thanks for sharing that with us Jay.
  4. Sunshine does have a great disposition and allows you to do just about anything to him, what a wonderful bird he is, loved the video and thanks for sharing it with us.
  5. I too hope you get your grey back but don't give up and use the suggestions that Brittany mentioned plus put an ad in the local paper, go door to door, visit vet offices, you just never know who might find him/her and the more people that know the better your chances of finding it. Good luck to you.
  6. That is wonderful news Jules and that is so helpful of Caroline to give you some advice you should have already known to start with:whistle: just kidding:laugh: I guess they like being where the action is just like greys and other birds and if that is what has made the difference then you should have done it a long time ago but better late than never. I'll just bet he likes being around where it all is happening, way to go Jules.
  7. We have lost our power several times this winter but we are prepared with two fireplaces and a wood stove, I know not everyone has these but we stayed nice and warm. I hope your mom gets her power back on soon. Its also nice to hear from you again Tricky, you haven't been here in a long time, don't stay away so long next time.
  8. Thats great advice Jay, they do quickly learn that if they are being put back into their cage when you have them step up then no wonder they refuse. This also works for those who have greys or just birds that don't like going into a travel cage because every time they do it means a trip to the vet, take them other places that are fun and they won't associate that travel cage with an unpleasant experience. Shake things up some Jill.
  9. Thats easy in my house as I only have one grey but it does matter in those households including yours where there is more than one grey and I guess you do have to be careful to keep the peace.
  10. Thats great to hear Dee that he is eating anything you offer as it will be easy for him to get what he needs nutritionally, wish they all were that easy. Its only been a few days, I am sure he will soon be able to go into his bigger cage but if he feels more comfortable in the travel cage then so be it. Greys can be so pecular about what they will accept or not, you would think he would go for a bell as most will but he needs some time to come to accept it as something that won't attack and kill him so keep it near enough that he isn't scared of it but where he can see it and soon he will accept it too. I can see you are on cloud nine and enjoying every minute of it, I am so happy for you Dee.
  11. That is so true Jay and my grey was my second bird and probably my last, I would love to have another bird but since I work full time I have limited myself to just these two, I know I can provide them with the love and attention they need, any more and I am spreading myself too thin. Even though my grey is not the first of my two birds I still consider her top priority, she is the No 1 bird, I don't think rank means too much to Sunny my conure but don't tell her that.
  12. kittykittykitty wrote: You are so right Howardine, we can come here and enjoy each other's birds especially with those who have lots because some of us only have one or two, what better way to experience many birds. I too think you won't find a better bunch of people than right here and when you join you are among family, you are in good company. Go ahead and take the plunge to join us, you won't regret it and you will kick yourself for not doing it sooner. :cheer:
