I think they were referring to the larger lego pieces as a grey might be able to break off pieces of the smaller ones, my grey has played with those before and some here will play with them for hours, anything to keep from having to buy toys for birds as they do get expensive, and they are safe since they are intended for babies and children.
This is a subject that touches on us all and really impacts the people who can least afford it but doesn't it just burn you up when gas keeps going up and so do the profits the oil companies are making, hello something is wrong with this picture!!
Jill has given you some good advice, the leg will never be the same as before but this grey will learn to get around as well as any other grey and just because it is not perfect it still needs a good home, I know some would just turn their back on just such a grey, I look forward to hearing more about this grey, you are going to get this one aren't you?
Welcome back Ellie and you have been busy as now you have two greys, so great that you could give Jackie a new home and she seems to be settling in so now all we need are some pics please.
I would say that having the surgery while he is still young is the best and he should be just fine and will learn to get around like he is missing nothing, they learn to adapt especially when that young so he should have no problem, please keep us informed and let us know how he is doing.
Hello Leron and welcome to our family, so glad you could join us.
You took on quite a task of handfeeding a baby grey as it is usually best left to those who know what they are doing but from the picture in your avatar she looks just fine.
It is exciting and amazing to watch them grow up and they do grow so fast, soon she will take flight and I do hope you are intending to leave her unclipped as she will be a more confident bird if allowed to fly.
I can't wait to see more pictures of Lois.
I have to agree with Chelsea since you are going to be moving so soon and your breeder is willing to keep her a little longer, its enough stress on them coming to a new home to start with, new people, new cage, new surroundings and so forth, I know its hard to wait longer but it will be worth it and after all her well being comes first.
No you do not need to put any vitamins in the drinking water, if you are feeding a balance diet with lots of veggies then they get what they need, if not then only on the advice of an avian vet.
I am so glad to hear that Ginger is doing better, poor girl has been thru a lot but with your love and attention she should be just fine, of course it goes without saying to keep us informed.
Its good to hear from you Chris and so glad to hear that things are going good for you, Lucy, Rambo and Elvis. You should update us more often as you have been missed and we welcome any new pictures you would share with us.
I have to agree with Shana about the conures as they are cuddlebugs, I have a sun conure that loves nothing better than to ride around on my shoulder when she is out of her cage and loves to snuggle up to me, of course she can be so sweet one minute then turn and bite you but their bites are more like pinches.
You need to go to this site and listen and read what it has to say, it may make the decision for you, toos are not for everyone and you need to make sure you know what you will be getting into.

Wow, that is amazing you got her back, you were very lucky and so glad you shared your story with us for it just goes to show that diligence and perseverance can pay off and you got your precious Roxy back, bet you won't make that mistake again and who knows what other birds you might have saved when others read your story and take heed, thanks for sharing that with us.
That room is looking great and yes it will take time for Slater to get used to it but he will, maybe by the time you are finished he will be comfortable with it, I bet this room will be awesome when finished, can't wait to see the finished product.
I really liked that fist bump that Blue and Linda did in the movie "Rio" and that is wonderful you are teaching that to Gilbert, he is smart and will catch on quickly. He has really come along in leaps and bounds for you and will for your family too in time, a match made in heaven and I love hearing these updates about his progress, what a grey!
Please check thru the Homemade toys and playstands room for lots of threads with ideas of cheap or free toys you can make from common things found around most households as sometimes they get the most enjoyment from those instead of those expensive made for bird toys found on the market.
