Yes he does and that isn't helping the situation any, why don't you relax and just treat him as you always have and when he sees you are ok with the new room then he will gradually accept it, remember its only been a couple of days and greys take to change very slowly. If he sees you are anxious about his acceptance of the new room he will continue to be a nervous wreck, you must learn to develop some patience when it comes to Slater and I think it will serve you well if you can relax about it, try it and see if it helps.

Hello Abbie and welcome to our family, so glad you are getting a grey and we look forward to hearing lots more about him. Thanks for sharing the picture of your precious baby Tag, they are so adorable at this age and when I see them I just want to grab them up and give them a squeeze. I hope you will be able to visit your baby often as it will be so helpful when you bring him home to be familiar with you for he will be going into an entire new environment, new cage, new home, new toys and such. I sure do hope that Nilah is ok but keep a good lookout for any more strange looking poops but the fact that she is acting normally makes it look like it was just the fruit, they certainly can keep us worried sometimes and we women are the worst but here is hoping that she is fine and the vet visit will not be necessary, keep us posted.

This wasn't the best of ideas and should have been done very slowly and carefully, I would imagine he is not terrified of towels and it will be a long drawn out process to get him used to one now. A towel should be introduced slowly and you should try to make a game of it so they do not fear it. You will never "bond" with a bird by toweling him, trust has to be earned and you are back to square one after this episode. Yes it can get hot for them in a towel, they have a higher body temperature than we do anyway and can overheat wrapped in a towel plus if you hold them too tightly they can suffocate as they have to be able to expand their diaphram to breathe.

I like Dee's idea of the skunk scent but no one should have to put up with what you have and the sooner you move the better off you and your flock will be, hope you find something suitable with great neighbors.

Does he have a small stuffed animal with him in his enclosure? Most baby birds like some kind of companionship if they are an only bird and something to cuddle up with helps.

The travel cages I have are very durable as I have been using one of them for a long time now as I take Josey with me occasionally to work and when I go visit my son who lives 4 hours away but I have to admit I do like the food doors in the Kings cage.

It doesn't surprise me in the least, look what you have done with Yoshi in the short time you have had her, you are a wonderful parront Robin and you truly reap what you are sowing, great to hear.

Congrats on your girl, my grey is a dna'd female and she is bonded to me but tolerates my hubby, she has never bitten me or anyone, sometimes its just a matter of paying attention to their body language and backing off when they display signs of displeasure, just like us we have our times we don't feel like being messed with and thats their way of getting their message across. Does she really dislike your husband? She may not like him as much as she likes you but he can still have a good relationship with her if he respects her space. Let him be the one to give her treats, he can sit by her cage and talk to her, read her the newspaper or a book but I imagine she will be more tolerant of him when you are not around. You don't have to worry about any egg laying issues for a few years yet and she may never lay an egg so don't cross that bridge until you get to it, at 5 months of age she is a long ways away from it.

Dee you continue to amaze me with how well things are going with Gilbert, you two are exactly what each needs and I love hearing your comments on what he has accomplished so far, who would have thought you two would be interacting so well and he hasn't been in your care that long when you think about it, you have made great strides and there will be many more to come, now if we could get a few more pictures it would be perfect.

My grey Josey has days she does more mimicing than saying actual words so it just depends on what they want to do at any given time, nothing to worry about as long as he is vocalizing he is happy.

I don't use sleep cages either but it may work for you, it just depends on the circumstances but it is just easier for me and them to have them bed down in their daytime cages, I just cover them with a black sheet.

Josey still does the digging once in a while when she is out of her cage and wants me to come get her as she is not flighted, of course I go get her.

I still shudder when I think about that incident and birds do make good alarms, I don't have an inside dog so my sun conure is my alarm, of course she sounds off when I come home but that is for another reason.
