  1. I have given my fids toilet paper and paper towel rolls but not on a regular basis but cereal boxes and the sort that food came in is excellent for them to tear and rip up, boxes are great toys and cost nothing.
  2. I make it a point to stay at home, after all you can't get hit by a drunk driver if you are in bed sleeping. I gave up going out on New Year's Eve a long long time ago, in fact I cannot remember the last time I celebrated it, I will sit by the fire watching some tv with a margarita in hand and will more than likely be in bed sleeping when the new year comes in, I'm not much of a party animal or maybe its my age, take your pick.
  3. Like Penny said they may never be friends but they can learn to co-exist in the same house but it will just take time but I love how you got them mixed up, the more time you spend with them the more you will be able to tell them apart as each will have their own quirks. Thanks for sharing a couple of pics of them with us, they are gorgeous Tags.
  4. Their toes are normally black so white toes sort of stand out, it will be more noticable when the chick gets older.
  5. Hello Dyeraudio and welcome to our family, congrats on your new grey Bella. Bella is a beautiful grey, thanks for sharing the pic with us.
  6. You definitely have a Cag as they have the black beak and greys do blush so that is what you may be referring to.
  7. A routine is good but not a rigid one where if you deviate from it then panic ensues. I pretty much follow a routine to a degree but allow some flexibility so they are not surprised when something different is thrown into the mix. My flock isn't out on mornings I go to work as there is too much to do before leaving for work but as soon as I get home they are out for the evening and spend lots of time out on the weekends. They usually have a set bedtime but are uncovered earlier on work days versus the weekends when I get a little more sleep, they stay quiet until I uncover them.
  8. Josey eats Harrisons High Potency pellets and she likes the fine versus the coarse, she doesn't waste much of them, she has been on them as long as I have had her which is over 5 years now.
  9. Hello Gosha and welcome to our family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing lots more about you and your grey. BTW, what is your grey's name? Dave is right as always, they will go back into their cage if thirsty enough and maybe it is time to try some new foods to change things up, he changed things for you so throw him a curve ball and see what happens. We would love to see some pictures of your grey if you have some you would share with us.
  10. Many times when one door closes another one opens so the new year may bring a whole new world for you and your fids, I hope 2012 is your best year yet.
  11. I said it in your visitor section but here it is again, Happy Birthday Ray, hope your day was filled with love and happiness.
  12. Happy Birthday Ray, I hope your fids give you a wonderful day today as always and may you have a day filled with love and good cheer, you are so blessed.

  13. Hello Thebirdistheword and welcome to our family, so glad you could join us. So glad to hear you have been doing your research before plunging in to buying a grey, now that you know what you are in for you won't be disappointed for they are awesome creatures who will steal your heart in a flash along with providing you with a lifelong companion who will dazzle you every day with what they can do but still bring you back to reality at times, its all worth it though as we will all attest to.
  14. That is a sweet looking little blue quaker and if I was to ever get one it would have to be a blue one, not that the green ones are any less lovable but that color is so adorable, how long will it be before you get your bird Wingy?
  15. LOL but you do realize with so many members here with new ones coming all the time that sometimes it is hard keeping up with everyone, their bird's names, their names if different from their log in name, their pictures of their birds and themselves if provided, and you will find out when you get my age that memory is not what it used to be. You have made an impression on me even without the aid of a picture of you, remember that and a good impression I must add.
  16. Hello Ellie and the other half and welcome to our family, so glad you could both join us and we look forward to hearing and seeing a lot more of you both and Lola. Lola is a beauty of a baby grey and I know the wait will be long but so worth it when she finally gets home to spend the rest of her life in your loving care. Your breeder is right to keep her until she is fully weaned as it can take more than 16 weeks and sometimes less than, it just depends on the individual grey, thanks for sharing some pics with us, she looks to be a real sweetheart of a grey.

    Cookie!

This is so cute as you would not imagine these two birds getting along so well, thanks for sharing it with us.
  18. Opps, well it is the first time I can remember seeing what you look like so you must forgive an older woman, I will have to check back further to see those posts for pictures but maybe I can scrounge up one of myself to share but I am camera shy as I do not like what I see.
  19. Varying sizes and shapes are the best as they need different widths to keep the feet healthy, if you had to grip the same size perch all the time then it will eventually freeze that way, variety is the spice of life.
  20. Congrats on bringing Barnaby home and into your life, I think you will both be blessed for the relationship to come and I look forward to seeing and hearing a lot more about him, he looks like a sweetheart.
  21. Aww Merry Christmas from me and I hope you had a wonderful day with loved ones including your fids. Those are some nice pictures of Zak which would make a nice Christmas card but I especially like the one of the two of you together, its nice to be able to put a face with the screen name Morana. Hope you all have a blessed New Year to come.
  22. Exactly Val. The joy is in the box, just ask my grandkids.
  23. Talon is just like kids when it comes to boxes or bags as my grandkids were on Christmas Eve after they had opened all their gifts, they took one big box and made it into an imaginary space station and they spent quite a while enjoying that until the box was just a flat piece of cardboard, give a child or some fids a box and much merriment can be had. Thanks Penny for sharing those pics with us.
  24. I love that poem and like you Ray I would be interested in a copy of that sign as my home is their home.
  25. You have come a long way with Louie and though it is not the type of hat you would like to wear it does show the progress he has made, I know the day will come when he will allow you to touch him even if it is just a little bit, bet this was the highlight of your holiday. Thats a pretty good shot considering how it was taken, you are getting good at this. Ana Grey looks unhappy with the situation but Louie might give her a run for her money in time.
