Hello MonkeyBird and welcome to our family and congrats on your new grey. You are in good company here gushing over your new baby grey as we all can relate to that, looking forward to seeing some pictures.
Hello FeatherdFollies and welcome to our family, sorry I missed your post but life has been busy as has yours from the looks of it. You have quite a flock of greys there and from the pic it looks like they get along really well. Why don't you come back and tell us more about yourself and these greys of yours. Pictures are always welcomed.
The weight can depend on what type of bone structure they are as there are small, medium and large boned greys and Ray is right about a slight weight loss when fledging so it sounds like Marco is perfectly normal.
I cover the entire cage, always have for they are in the family room where we are still up watching tv and such, they have no separate room for sleeping.
Its so special when two greys get along like that, you should count yourself very lucky to have them, thanks for the update and the pics, gorgeous greys.
I have to agree that cage doors are shut and locked while we are out or when we are sleeping, there is just too much for them to get into and hurt themselves and I like Janet's idea of having the travel cages nearby just in the case if needed at a moment's notice, better to be prepared and not need it than need it and not be prepared.
Marguerite you have been missed but we do what we have to when life hands us our fate, sorry to hear of your dad's passing, I bet you were a great help to him.
You have come a long way with Dorian and so glad to hear that things are going well for you both.
Josey has my two other bird's voices down pat and sometimes I have to figure out just who is calling, its amazing how they can mimic the voices so accurately.
Oh boy, the battle of wills, can Penny come up with a new item every night to entice Nilah back into her cage for bedtime, time will tell, round one Penny, now on to round 2.
Exactly, give a grey a big heavy duty bell and watch them try to beat the crap out of it, every grey should have at least one big bell they can fight with, you would think the bell was trying to kill them the way they attack it.
I am afraid I have to echo the other's concerns about the bird being in a workplace all day, sure it may get lots of attention but would it get some out of cage time and most greys will bond to just one person or several people and the person or persons picked might not share that status with the grey. Then you have people who do not understand about birds and would stick their fingers in the cage and get bitten or they end up tormenting the bird, a grey deserves better treatment than that and I think you will find that out on your own if you do any research, please rethink this idea of yours.
Hello Snoepgoed123 and welcome to our family, that is one precious looking baby grey you have there, cute overload is what it is and we look forward to hearing and seeing a lot more of the both of you, thanks for sharing the pic with us.
Unlike children greys tend not to get excited about new toys as they are usually a little fearful of them to start with but glad Ellie decided to try her new plaything, she is a beautiful grey, thanks for sharing the pics with us.
I missed you at the Christmas party for the bird club.
