Today is Talon's double digit birthday! She turned 10 today! She is the oldest of all my animals. And I didn't get her anything just yet......but I have been singing Happy Birthday to her today..to which she echos.....yoooouuuuu!

I use Nickelodeon on the tv about 3 days a week, another day I play the Bird sitter dvd, and one day I play a repeated cd of songs for my Amazon as she loves to sing. Also I put toy buckets in their cages, small wooden toy parts wrapped individually in paper or coffee filters or baking cups. Phone books Are fun or small cardboard boxes for them to chew up

Yes, Talon had got her eye burned by perching on her boing in her cage with the light on top. It was almost 3 weeks and 2 vet visits and a week of antibiotic drops in her eye....as the vet thought she had an infection, not a burn, turned out to be a burn. I throw the lite in the trash and bought a feather brite that sits on her cage

Talon will sit on the back of the chair watching it, she seems to really be interested. Rikki.....no way...she is certain it was brought into the house to murder her!

I just bought a 5 tier running water fountain for indoors for my parrots. I will post a pic soon. It recycles the water with a pump so there isnt fresh water coming thru it. Is there anything I can put into the water that would be safe? I have been researching it and I have heard copper pennies or a small piece of copper pipe to keep the slime at bay in between water changes.

My vote is NO! I had 2 greys and 1 Amazon who when I got them where clipped. It took my Congo 2 years to be able to fly and learning was difficult . My son had to teach my Amazon how to fly. I am a firm believer in NO clipping ever, but with that comes a huge responsibility and diligence in making certain there is NEVER an opportunity for them to get out thru a door or window ect.
