1. Hello & Welcome! I look forward o hearing more from you. B)
2. Hello and Welcome to our family. I am happy that you are doing all the necessary research before purchasing a grey. They DO require a big commitment, and it is a lifetime one. They are a lot like having a very young child. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are happy to help you.

4. Hello & Welcome to our family!
5. There was a post made somewhere, I don't remember where exactly, but the owners used a George Forman grill for the first time, and their seemingly perfectly healthy Grey died 20 Minutes later. I had bought one, used it once 6 months ago, and got rid of it immediately after reading that tragic warning. It's not worth the risk. THEY ARE TEFLON COATED!! :huh:
6. Interesting theory.... B)
7. OMG! She is so lucky you were home. It could have resulted in a tragic accident with her wing. You must have been so frightened! I'm glad everything worked out safely for you both. :cheer:
8. {Emotions-00020076} Well, I guess it's official everyone........after all, you all saw the memo...... :ohmy: Does anyone here know how to stop time?? It needs to happen on June 30, 2008............... {Emotions-0002007D}
9. Thanks siobha9, no, Talon prefers to bite him instead!!!
10. OMG!! DID YOU REALLY SAY SWIMSUIT PHOTO'S????? :ohmy: IS THIS A NEW MEMBER REQUIREMENT THAT I AM UNAWARE OF??? I DON'T REMEMBER GETTING THE MEMO........:ohmy: :ohmy: :blink:
11. Thanks for the suggestion Dan & Tracy. Since I have moved, my credit cards are used way too much, but that won't stop me......:evil: :evil: I think buying a new cage is what I will do. I suppose I could take her play cage she uses now and put it outside on my back deck. I am having part of the deck built into an aviary, but until then, she likes to be outside when we are, I could put her in her cage. See, there is always a solution!! B)
12. Dan, thanks for your advice. The problem I am having, and maybe you can offer a solution, is that the top of her cage opens up. I like to have a light on it when I have to put her in her cage when I leave. Otherwise she is free to roam the house when I am home. Her cage is tall. Any suggestions? Ideally, I have been wanting to purchase a cage like Judy has, maybe I should just hit the credit cards, and do it!
13. Andrew, with your permission. I would like to see this article published here at www.greyforums.net. I think it is very valuable information for all bird owners. Please send me a pm, on your thoughts. And again, my condolences, please keep the faith, you and Andrew could still be reunited. Keep looking for him, he's looking for you.
14. Welcome Aaron! I'm happy you joined our family. You have come to the right place to learn all you can. Please read through the various topics and threads. And feel free to ask anything. We have so many knowledgeable members here, there is always answers to your questions. B)
15. Okay, back to the topic here, or I'll have to go digging down deep for the Off-Topic Police!! :laugh: :laugh: Well, I met with a trainer this week at the gym, who among other things made me do 5 sets of 10 push-ups.... I didn't think I could even do one, so I surprised both him and me by doing all 50. Boy am I sore today!! :blink: But I did them again tonight, hopefully I won't be sore for long. :pinch:
16. Thanks Spooky, I will try that bulb instead. I did like the light, because it stretches up to 5 feet, my other light is balanced on 2 stools one on top of the other. :pinch:
17. Thanks siobha9 for reviving this. I agree! The pictures are soooo cute! :woohoo: Karma for you!! :cheer:

Post edited by: Talon, at: 2008/06/06 01:05
18. That's a very good idea Tracy. This light came without the bulb, then you had to purchase the recommended bulb separately, which I did from them. It came from Foster's and Smith.
19. OMG!!!! MY CURTAINS!!!!!! :ohmy: :ohmy: :ohmy: :ohmy: Very nice and great pictures as usual! :cheer:
20. UPDATE ON TALON!!! Yes, everyone, it was the light! I believe it had given her a sunburn, as every time she came out of her cage, it was very red!! I had taken that light away, and put her old light back. It too does shine on the side of her cage, but it never made her eye red. I have yet to turn it on. I'm trying to give her eye a long healing time to make sure it doesn't flair up again. I called the vet and let him know in case he ever encounters something like this again. It sure would have saved a traumatic time for us had it been something he suggested, but I guess he never heard of this. It was a special avian light for birds, I believe it will stay in the basement never to be used again. What a waste of $80.00 :pinch:
21. Very nice Melissa! They're looking a little fat....perhaps they need to go on a diet?! :blink:
22. Talon leaves all the sunflower seeds in tact in her food bowl. She doesn't like to eat them.

24. She may not bite during those terrible two's Judy. Not all greys go thru that biting faze. I believe she is too sweet to do so, just like you! {Love-00020116}
