  1. Pooh! This would be a wonderful tool for me!! Knives and I don't get along, I always manage to cut myself, or at the very least...a finger nail. I try not to use them.
  2. I never quarantined any of my birds when I got them.....I dont feel it is always a MUST DO RULE! But everyone has their own opinion. There is nothing wrong with doing it your own way!
  3. Well said Dave, that put a smile on my face. I do let them settle their little differences sometimes, I thinks it necessary for them to work things out in their bird way without human interference. It teaches them how to get along in a flock, where their place is in this family, and also resentment can start if I always interfere. Don't get me wrong, if ever I see one getting too rough, I will step in, but that never happens, they are gentle enough with each other and still able to get their point across.
  4. Yes, my birds all are jealous of the others. I have gotten a nip or two on occasion. I try to give scratches to all birds at the same time if they are begging for them. But my amazon thinks I belong to her, and will sometimes allow Rikki to come over or else Rikki will let her know she belongs with me also. Like your advice Ray, thanks for sharing it.
  5. Wow! Those are great! I bet your birds love the,? Did they take long to make? Probably longer than it will take for your birds to destroy them!
  6. I would love to see a picture of your creation. Sounds like fun for any bit!
  7. Thank you Oblivion for getting this thread back on topic. That is where it needs to stay everyone ........
  8. Welcome to our family. Do you have any pics to post? Tell us more about your birds. We love stories!

  10. Yes, a video of her and her checkbook would be great!!!
  11. I think Ray said it all. DefinItely UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! And maybe a bucket with foot toys in it...
  12. Happy Birthday Val! Need some bird day photos!
  13. Not too worry about posti g on the wrong room, that why we have such wonderful moderators!! After all, we can't have them falling asleep on the job, this keeps them alert and gives them something to do......after all, they are so highly paid!!
  14. Yup. He sure has won you over early, he's got your number! He'sadorable!!!
  15. Thank you for that reminder. We DO have a thread as a sticky named RESPECT. Which clearly states the importance of all you said. Perhaps it should be read as a reminder....
  16. Such a sense of humor added to this colorful thread, leave it to you Dave! You never let us old folks here down
  17. I don't see any problem with him going other than HE may bit a bit freaked out at first. If he is used to going places with you, then he will probably settle down after a bit. I wouldn't be afraid of the coffee maker or the air, sounds like he won't be there too too long, so he should be ok. I have a coffee maker in my kitchen used every day, and I don't know if it's Teflon or to, but my birds seem to be ok with it. I know others here take their birds to work occasionally, maybe they will chime in soon.
  18. Bless you for all you have done for your wonderful family member. Have you tried the donut shape AND the cone together? It hard keep my dog from picking at his boo boo. Also, if you know anyone with a Kangen water machine, if you can get the 2.5 acid water from them, it WOULD heal his wound. It has been proven to get rid of staph infections and heal any wounds. It kills the bacteria in 30 seconds. Daily use would heal this. Google it in your area and maybe a kind soul would give you some, it lasts quite a while. We use it to sterilize things, on cuts, clears up acne, etc.
  19. Welcome to our family! I look forward to hearing more and seeing some pictures perhaps? Feel free to ask anything you want! Lots of great advice here and very kind people. Oh, and is should be fun.........my name is Penny! LOL

    Beak Question

It is a natural behavior of theirs to wipe their own beaks. I find if I don't do it for them, They rub less. I think they get mad at me for doing their job! If you are concerned their beak is too thin due to rubbing it so much, post some pics and maybe we can see it. But they do rub their beak a lot, especially after eating and drinking.
  21. FYI My tag s 6 1/2 years old and weighs 326 grams
