2. Email me venuto@earthlink.net that photo and I'll do it for you.. CD
3. If it doesn't you can use Ebay to get one.. I paid $19 for mine.. :P Brand new and in the box..
4. Tari wrote: And this could never be considered your fault Tari.. Like Talon stated, Once started it becomes a habit.. sort of a mental problem that is way difficult to fix.. So in your case I know you are not mistreating that bird.. But what do we know of the previous owner that did have the plucking start.. Not much I bet.. or we know that there was mistreatment at some level going on.. The fact is if you have a happy, well adjusted, properly fed, bathed, loved, socialized, and a million other "healthy" factors you don't have a plucker to start with...
5. jstrelaxin wrote: My take on your RANT is a alot different then Talons. She is the "good cop" and I am the "bad one" Is this how you act Jane? You have a disagreement with the tone of a thread and already you're running away... So you think you are gonna find a forum that you won't have any disagreements in.. That everyone in that forum thinks like Jane? I am surprised at you.. I really am.. If you think you are gonna find a place with a more caring bunch of people.. good luck.... One thing I do know. Running away from something as minor as this isn't making you look so good.. Why don't you take a breath and tell us how you really feel. Ask why your Grey Plucks.. I bet we can find the answer for you... and wouldn't that be so much better then you getting angry over the fact your bird plucks and run away from the very group of people most likely able to help you fix the problem? The fact of the matter is Greys Pluck for many reasons.. First and foremost is mistreatment.. and that would include poor diet, poor cleaning, poor bathing habits, bordom, lack of interaction with the owner or flock leader, yelling at the bird and on and on.. You can't deny this.. It is a known fact.. and oh yeah.. There are a few other reasons not related to mistreatment of some sort.. Perhaps your case is one of those remote reasons.. By taking the stand you have you make me think that you are guilty of something.. Know why? Because if you cared for your bird you wouldn't be effected by someone acusing another of mistreating their bird.. What in the world does that have to do with HOW YOU TREAT YOUR BIRD.. Why such a guilt trip Jane? rethink your position.. No One wants to see you leave here.. and that includes me FIRST.

Post edited by: CeasarsDad, at: 2007/07/27 07:00
6. Yes indeed Talon.. This is key with an african grey. It's no secret that these birds can become very one person oriented. Keeping them in front of many people is one way to get them past this attachment problem so many of them seem to have.
7. Actually you need the scale to go down to grams.. Not ounces.. It's not what he weighs now that's important it's any change in his weight you would be concerned about.. and it's 10% change.. It there is a 10% drop in weight you need to have him checked by a vet..
8. Hi Sandra.. You are correct.. We are a nice group. I hope you find everything you need here and then some.. If you need anything special must contact me.. I'm here to help.. Cd
9. Not only have I heard them all but I own them all.. :P Including the concerts..
10. Interesting.. Not exactly the upbeat song i'm looking for but it is very interesting... I'm not ruling it out..
11. Hi lidia. I never considered what you are saying about his cage. And of course you are correct about it. In my house there really is only two times ceasar is in his cage. Bedtime and when no one is home. All other times he's on his play tree. When people come over ceasar is out in the open already. I never witnessed how he would act if a stranger approached his cage. Perhaps then he night try to defend it. But I would think we would try to defend his play tree. But he doesn't. Go figure. But I am very happy at ceasars progress so far. I do realize that there are many changes coming. But I am less worried about them. Ceasar knows who the boss is and I really don't thing he will ever try to wrestle that away from me
12. B) Three for all and all for Three... that's what I always say... Garrrr.... or is it Hardy har har? :P
13. Snow.. when you talk eating and how much.. You need to also talk Scales and Weight.. Do you have a scale? and do you weigh your bird at least once every few days? It's the weight that will tell you if he is eating enough.. I believe that when someone buys a bird.. Any bird.. The scale should come with the bird and cage..
14. I told the story before of the morning Ceasar pooped RED.. Looked like blood.. I was horrified.. Was making plans to take Ceasar right to the Vet when my wife said " the kids gave him a Twizzler last night " Oh... thanks for telling me..
15. See I'm the total opposite with Ceasar.. I encourage everyone to go over to his cage and tree stand... I encourage everyone to try and have Ceasar step up on them. We had a New Years Eve Party last year.. Had many many people in the house.. Ceasar was right on his tree stand with all the guests.. He goes to most anyone.. We went to Petco one day with Ceasar.. Walked into the store and all the Petco employees came over looking at Ceasar.. In minutes they were passing Ceasar all around.. I don't shelter Ceasar.. When we first got Ceasar home.. He was 20 weeks.. I had my daughters bring all their friends over to see him.. Got him use to people from the start.. It Works.. So the answer the question of this post.. NO I am lucky Ceasar never bit a guest.. Or US for that matter..
16. Ceasar is on my should all the time.. We go in the car together and that's his seat.. He loves it up there..

18. Connie wrote: Connie. The problem with uploading photos is no one tells you that the size must be 500 pixels across or smaller.. If the photo is larger then that is just won't post..Sometimes you get a warning about this and sometimes you don't.. If you can resize the photos do so.. If you can't email me your photos. venuto@earthlink.net and I will do it for you.. One more thing.. Welcome to the family.. We are glad to have you...

23. Of Course.. Irene Pepperburg.. "The Alex Studies" This is one tough book to read but worth the torture.. It's very scientific but if you want to know everything about the best trained AG on the planet this is a must read.. It outlines everything she did to teach Alex and documents what it all means. I got my on Ebay for a fraction of the cover price.. If you own an African Grey this book belongs on your coffee table..
