Sorry Haley, no sympathy, I would love to live in an old cottage miles from anywhere. My house is quite new, well about 20 years and though its ok it has very little character.I do love it though and my neighbours are all fantastic, My neighbour even came round with some home made soup for me when I was sick in the summer, I thought that was really nice.Does your cottage have lots of old features, beams and fire places and such?

I would love to live in an old cottage Hayley! No worrying about the greys making all their noise in the middle of nowhere, that would be bliss!

How could you waste a full glass of wine on your laptop? I hope you had some more:laugh: Good job you had another keyboard:laugh:

Not done anything exciting today, got a pile of bills this morning which kept the greys quiet for half an hour:laugh: been out and bought a dishwasher at long last ( give my husband Dave a break from washing up )

And its not been as cold for a change!

Hope everyone has had a good day!

Take care.

Caroline.

Haley, I bet an 250 year old cottage would be so beautiful. I can picture it out in the fields. I love the architecture of old buildings and it would be a dream to live in one. So, nope, no sympathy from me either. I would love to see a picture of it.

Carline, congradulations on a new dishwasher. I don't have one of those either but I do dishes with Baxter and it makes it fun or atleast bearable:silly:

I just finished putting a pot roast in the over a little while ago and have about another hour or so before its done. It's cold here too and a pot roast is always good on a cold winter night. I am ready to dig in. {Nature-00020096}

It is cold here too and the weather man is warning us about an artic blast and the coldest we've seen this winter. I am not looking foward to that.

It was decent enough to day that I got to take my little dog out for a good walk today. It was sunny and other than the cold was a nice day.

Hi all, how's it going? Well, I've been sick since Christmas time, had a cough that won't go away and now on top of that I've got a cold! I'm ready to begin the new year fresh again- it's no fun being sick for going on 3 weeks.

Ah well- that's life I guess and I suppose once I'm feeling better I'll appreciate it all the more.

Today I brought Sadie Grey to work with me all by herself. It's the first time her and Sterling have been apart and it took her a little time to settle down but now she's chilling out in Lyric's work cage and seems to be doing fine. Hopefully Sterling is in similar shape at home. I thought it might be good for both of them to have some time to themselves. Of course she is having the better end of the deal since she got to spend some extra time with me.

Well, other than work, being sick, dealing with birds, cleaning house and keeping up on all the grocery shopping and chores I haven't been doing too much lately! Hope all is well with all of you. ;)

Busy, busy, busy

Have taken on a Goffins cockatoo. We saw an ad in preloved looking to rehome a neurotic bird, feather shredder and 8 hours driving there and back we got him home.

So we have added to our flock both birdies get along just fine all vet checks fine but radical changes in diet desperately needed;)

Cockatoo is on a special bach flower remedy and new feather growth is coming along nicely just trying to get him on a new diet now. The previous owner allowed him to have coffee and chocolate biscuits, the only fruit he ate was an apple and that was only so that he could get to the seeds.. no wonder hes all messed up.

Well hes a terrific little fella, he speaks with a cockney accent and he is really taken with my son

he just lights up when my son comes home from school

Hope you are all just fine, I miss hearing all the news

All the best from Hayley;)

Haley its great news you got the too. Sounds like the proper diet will sort things out. Wondered why you had not been around.

The wii is great, I have been on my nephews and loved it. I was total rubish though. It was some car race thing, I kept crashing and going the wrong way.

Things are still quiet i work but thats usual for us this time of year.

Hi all! Hayley, how exciting about your new too- I can't believe his diet though, poor fella, no wonder he was plucking feathers. I'm sure you'll sort him out in no time!

I'm finally feeling back to myself again. I was terrible sick last Wednesday so I finally broke down and saw a doctor Thursday- they told me I had bronchitis and a bacterial infection. After a round of antibiotics and a couple days off work I'm now on the road to recovery. It's nice to be well again. Other than that I've been busy with the animals, (as usual!) and just life in general. Funny how wrapped up in the every day tasks of life we can become. Well I'm glad it's Friday and although I have no big plans for the weekend, I'm happy and looking forward to a couple days at home. Hope everyone is doing alright!

Seems like everyone has had some kind of illness this winter as that is all I hear and I have had some kind of crap myself, hope everyone gets over it quickly.

I just started my weekend but I have the company of my grandson until Sunday so there goes my sleeping in but I enjoy having him around and the birdies like him better than they do the grandgirls:whistle:  :P

It has been a nice day hear weather wise.I spent the afternoon in southport.I went for a good watch for my dad who is 80 in a few weeks.I could have got one in Liverpool but in southport there is a jewellers I love having a nose in.Just love all the bling they have. I had to be very firm with myself and just get the watch. I am getting a small bonus in a week or so and I may treat myself to a Radley bag.Make a change from treating charlie and Cracker. No point going for a pair of nice shoes at the moment, I have a lump on my foot and the chiropodist thinks it is a type of cyst that will need removing.I cant get a GP appointment till 2 Feb so I am mad. Oh well if thats all I have to moan about im doing ok.

I went of a walk today, it was so sunny, fresh and beautiful outdoors!

Sheila, I hope the specialist helps you with your foot. Good thoughts go out for a speedy resolution. I banged up my knee a few years ago so I know firsthand that anything that hampers getting around easily under your own power is a real bummer!
