Glad he's still holding on. You must have spoken with Jamie or Oneta. Just beware those two will eat their own babies if you cross them. Lots of people get insulted and feelings hurt as they have terrible social manners but they know their stuff when it comes to avian medical advice.

If you have a facebook account - join the group 'Parrot problem solving 101'. Or contact 'Oneta M Carter' or 'Jamie Galindo'. They are both admins of that group and they know how to help. This forum only has a couple who might know what to do at this stage and as you can see there is a huge lag time. You will get a response within a few minutes in that group.

Can you get apple cider vinegar with the 'mother' in it? I know this is really good for sick pigeons and is recommended all the time over on my piji forum.

Tinkerbell just staying current:

If she likes to be spray bathed I would not use the spray bottle to deter. All three of my birds hate getting a squirt which is why I just have to show the bottle and they hop to attention. The only time I spray is when GreycieMae and Toby get into or about to get into a death ball. When they get like this just showing the bottle does not work, they need that little extra attitude adjustment.

I learned patience from my African Grey. Wait it was actually my CAIQUE!!!!

When do you all make the big move?

I use a small squirt bottle to get compliance in my house of chaos. GreycieMae knows when the squirt bottle comes out she better tighten up the ship real quick or a squirt is coming her way, and she hates getting squirted. She loves to fly to the top of the littles (conure & cockatiel) cage and harrass/torment them. I hate getting out of my chair 50 times an hour to stop her so I bust out the squirt bottle. All I have to do now is pull it out and tell her to stop and she stops. I also use it to bust up fights between her and the caique & jardines. They see me break out the squirt bottle and everybirdy buries the hatchets. Something else that worked with my bitey lil conure was to have a dowel perch nearby. Once she started biting hard I break out the conure-beating-stick. Just the sight of it caused her to stand up tall and quit the dang biting.

Two Re-Homed Amazons; Meet CC and Sadie
SRSeedBurners replied to Luvparrots's topic in Cricket's Amazon Room
You found one fast! Can't wait for pics -
Refridgerator is just like another cabinet. All three of our birds have to get in them when the door is open. The fridge has the added benefit of food. My Greycie will go in there hunting the cheese. Nice pics!

Love that second sign!

There were similar comments on the Grey FB page. However several others jumped in a said it's not nearly closed in enough to send a normal grey into broody mode. It's a LOT less closed in than a cardboard box (which she's in right now shredding to bits). I would consider a cardboard box a broody box but lots of people give those to the greys to shred.

Amazon singing Sia's "Chandelier"

Those amazons make great singers. -
Ahh...I need to bring Miss Tinky over to help cheer you up. She's turned into a real sweetheart. I bitey-ass, nippy, eeeeeping little sweetheart!

Play dates are always welcome. However, sharing could be an issue. Somebirdy here has a selfish streak when it comes to sharing her toys. I won't mention any names. <--- uhhummm....

Hmmm...an Etsy shop. Sell bird toys so I can buy more bird toys. Is that like selling drugs to support my drug habit? If you look closer, especially in the first couple photos, you'll see the look of annoyance on her face. Her and the Caique had been in a standoff over the new toy for a while when I decided to bust out the camera. Same thing happened when I hung GreycieMae's birthday net. She hates sharing anything with Toby. She'll share her food with me all day but Toby can shove off!

Happy Hatchday Dorian. I expect to see pics of a pile of bird toys!

"The Utopia of Rules" - David Graeber. An essay "On Technology, Stupidity, and the Secret Joys of Bureaucracy". That book describes in fine detail what you're dealing with. I picked it up one time for a flight back from the East coast. Pretty accurate. Great pic of Sukei. Not sure I've ever seen a pic of him besides your avatar. Really hoping for the best here.

Everybirdy needs a toy box. Wife has been after me for - I don't know how long - to build Rio, our Jardines, another hidey-fort for the aviary. He loves to hang out in little wooden boxes and the GreycieMae loves to turn them to splinters. So I decided to build GreycieMae a hanging toybox that I've been promising for a while now. It didn't take long. I had all the tools I needed in a pile from a fence job I finished that day. I was in the middle of a putting up some insulation/wall board and was waiting on my daughter who I sent on a gofor job to get more insulation. So this took about 35 minutes from raw fir strips to finished GreycieMae hanging skybox!!! I know I hit a home run when the birdies get possessive and wanting to fight over the new toy. Looks like I'll have to be building another soon.

God bless his little soul. May he fly free on the wind.

Please keep us updated. I've been following this from near the beginning. I can't wait to see pics of your bird happily living state-side with you!

It dawned on me today (Thanksgiving Day) what this day really means. For those of you who are owned by a parrot you may understand. I am not allowed in the kitchen on this day as I just get in the way, make a mess and won't stay out of the marshmallows. So I sit out here, on my perch, watching footyball and patiently wait for a feast that is being prepared - just for me. I hear chopping, mixers, opening of containers, the pepper grinder, cookings, and the smells are absolutely delish. I've made my way into the kitchen a few times looking for an early treat or to try and make off with a marshmallow only to get kicked out and told to stay out. I am feeling a bit empathetic to GreycieMae's struggles. The sounds and smells are tortuously irresistible and all I hear is the repeated NO! I'm hoping my time will come and a feast will appear before me. There will undoubtedly be morsels in my dish that just aren't suitable. I will merely fling those out of the way and eat only my favorites. If there is nothing more good to eat I will flip my dish in protest and make my way right into the middle of the sweet taters with the marshmallows. Because sweet taters and marshmallows is what this is all about. Right? I will relish this day, pretending I am a spoiled rotten parrot. Happy Spoiled Rotten Parrot (Thanksgiving) Day to all my US parront friends!

Happy Thanksgiving to you guys too! Hoping the worst is over with Ollie, know how that struggle is. You guys have the keen sense of placing a bird with the right hooman. Tinkerbell thanks you!

And a lil video of GreycieMae doing her very basic clicker training. She's pretty quick to get on with it already so I can't really slow down and show the basic steps. I've found it just helps to 'watch someone else do it'! The last bit is the 'rollover'. She has yet to do that successfully. I didn't realize I was behind a lamp. However you can see I'm helping her do what I'm asking. She has already started to try and roll since I showed her what I want, she's just scared of the vulnerable position.
