  1. That was great! Thanks for sharing. What a chatterbox! Endless entertainment though I'll bet
  2. LOL, my guinea pig did! I had one years ago when the kids were small. He lived to the ripe old age of almost nine, which was pretty good for those times at least. He made an eee eee eee squeak that I could imagine Timber doing with gusto. You heard it any time it was time to feed him, or any time you were eating something and he didn't have any.
  3. LOL Well, Timber thinks he needs a bite of anything I'm eating, so why wouldn't they want a drink of anything they see you with too?
  4. I've been freezing my birdie bread, but hadn't tried freezing chop and the Mundo Brazil mix I fix. With just the one bird, I don't spend all my time in the kitchen, but I could make bigger batches and save myself a little time. I don't have to travel much, but I would definitely need to do that if I had to be gone. Thanks!
  5. Do you refrigerate the leftovers and serve them during the following days?
  6. Yes indeed. From what everyone says they are like toddlers that way. Say something you don't want them learning one time and they have instant pick up and recall on it.
  7. Good to know Dan, thanks. Timber only does it on occasion, almost like a stretch, wiggle and yawn at the same time. Sounds normal at any rate!
  8. Good video! Love watching them, thanks for sharing
  9. Sounds like a great start!
  10. Enjoyed it, thank you!
  11. Yikes! Again, thanks for the info. When I first got Timber I took him to the vet the first day. She trimmed his feet with a dremel (his nails where so long they impaired his mobility a bit) and blunted the needle sharp point on his beak. Not much mind you, but she did that at my request. That was when his goal in life was to stick that beak in my flesh and it was razor sharp. I didn't know that you shouldn't do that until I read this post. She did say she was just going to blunt the tip a little so hopefully no harm done. I have a concrete perch in his cage that he usually sleeps on now, so hopefully the nails will take care of themselves (no noticeable growth so far). Now that he is used to us, the beak shouldn't be an issue either.
  12. Yes, my cats just don't seem that interested in Timber. He is the one most likely to start trouble. When he is out, he will hang from the bottom of the cage and try to get the cats to come over. No problem at all when he is in the cage. They do their thing and he does his.
  13. Timber won't eat Harrison's, so I'd say you are lucky your baby will! The consensus seems to be that it is the best.
  14. I can't express how bad I feel for you. What a shock and what a horrible thing.
  15. Great pics and a beautiful bird! Thanks for sharing
  16. After my experience with Timber and my headband the other night, I wouldn't discount anything. It amazes me how easily they are "disturbed" by seemingly minor changes. He also doesn't like my reading glasses. I have to take them off before I can pet him.
  17. I have seen Timber doing the same thing, but don't know what it means. He doesn't regurg, so I haven't been too concerned about it.
  18. That's a great video for the interaction!
  19. What a pretty girl! I'll bet you are so excited
  20. Interesting, I need to take a look at those.
  21. Loved the video! Thanks for posting
  22. Yikes, I am not sure about Timber's gender yet and it certainly isn't worth an injury! From what I've read 65 is a safe temp for a healthy bird so I guess he will do without it!
  23. Thanks for sharing. I don't watch TV much so hadn't seen it. That isn't a chance I'd be willing to take for fame, too much could go wrong.
  24. When I was on vacation, I was a bit surprised at how much Timber napped off and on throughout the day. I guess they are like cats and dogs, who never go into REM sleep thus need more sleep time? I remember reading that about "prey" animals. As judygram said, he can go from napping to alert in a second.
  25. LOL Heaven forbid he every sees me without my makeup!
