  1. Congratuations! I'd love to know Timber's gender (for sure). I checked out the site one of the other members recommended but decided not to go ahead. I'm planning to talk to the vet about it on our next visit, which will be soon.
  2. LOL It would scare me too! Hubby gets up really early and tries not to disturb the rest of the household when he leaves for work (3:30 AM). He doesn't turn any lights on downstairs. He said he about jumped out of his skin the first time Timber said "goodbye" as he was walking out the door.
  3. Yes, they always often wait until you are around the corner or out of the room to say something. That's one of the reason I got the birdie cam, so I could her Timber talk!
  4. Timber seems to have a horrified fascination with the tree. He cocks his head and stares fixedly at it for several minutes at a time. We walk close to it (he's on my arm) all the time and it doesn't freak him out, but if I get too close he starts going up to my shoulder so I'm not worried about him wanting to perch in it any time soon.
  5. They are so funny with their eating patterns. Yesterday, Timber seemed to eat very little. This morning, I've been watching him eat for nearly an hour it seems.
  6. Well, you have to laugh! While you yell "duck Bubba duck!" He's probably thinking "that's not what I said you idiot, clean you ears!"
  7. LOLOL The neighbors are probably wishing the end of the world came every week!
  8. Poor Luna! I wonder if she will probably still want to sleep on your chest even after the splint comes off.
  9. Cool video! Thanks for posting
  10. You might also want to check out foraging toys or boxes. My TAG loves to forage. He has a couple of toys specifically for that purpose that I put things in, and I make cardboard boxes for him. I put shredded paper, a foot toy, a walnut or almond (slightly cracked so he can get to it) and that kind of thing in it. They do crave human interaction though, so it's important to spend as much time as possible interacting with Miki. The more time I spend with Timber the more responsive and verbal he is. I think if they spend too much time alone, they withdraw.
  11. LOL I tried to get a pic after his bath last night but couldn't get a decent one. They look so funny!
  12. Interesting. I think there is a walker in my attic (not sure where it came from but it is there). I may give that a try! Thanks.
  13. You never know, she may be. Timber doesn't mind being sprayed, but doesn't want a real bath as often as I would like. After I spray him, he will sometimes go to his water bowl and throw water over his shoulder. That is my signal to get the baking dish of water to put in the bottom of his cage and he will dive right in. In other words, a full bath is on his terms only. I have a birdie cam and it gives me a lot of peace of mind. Also, free entertainment at my desk!
  14. LOL I can see the water bottle being endlessly entertaining for the birds! Yes, the bowls have to be changed frequently, especially if you have a dunker like Timber.
  15. LOL We all know that crazy bird woman/man look you get...
  16. Good job on the final Nancy Now just relax and enjoy the family and the holidays!
  17. Woohoo! Happy hatchday Cricket!
  18. I wonder... we buy water at Walmart. You take your bottle in and fill it from the machine there (3 gallon bottle we put on cooler at home). It says "ionized." Is that even close to the same thing? I know nothing about it.
  19. Plus, I think Timber would have a temper tantrum if he couldn't "dunk" his stuff in the water bowl!
