  1. Truthfully, I'd guess a good 50% and maybe more of the forum members (including myself) have been through a divorce. We just helped my oldest son through a year-long divorce/custody battle/mess and he is still healing. Your birds, family, and true friends are what will help you keep putting one foot in front of the other. As others have said so well, your birds need you, in whatever state you are in, because you are their family. They will weather the storm, just as you will! God bless.
  2. Hello and welcome! I have no "baby" experience but someone will come along and answer your questions. What is your baby's name? Love the avatar pic
  3. A lot of us struggle with getting our birds to eat pellets. As Dave pointed out just recently, pellets aren't a necessity as long as Smokey is getting a varied diet of things he WILL eat. Good news about the vegetables!
  4. Yes, someone just recently posted their specs but I'm not seeing it either. Hopefully that member will see this and chime in!
  5. No experience and no clue here, but believing for a quick determination and solution and waiting to hear!
  6. Ah, there's Mabel! I've been hearing the name a lot on your recent videos but was too lazy to go back and find her in previous posts.
  7. Hello and welcome to you and Ruby! Very cute pics, thanks for sharing. I am looking forward to hearing (and seeing) more about your life with Ruby. Good luck and God bless!
  8. I certainly would. I have nothing to contribute to this thread (except my sympathy and prayers), but I would inform the breeder of ANY finding that might affect her other birds. From what I'm reading here, it is hard to say where it came from or if it is really there (because of your comment from the vet about positive tests). If I were the breeder, I'd certainly want to know about the possibility. If the breeder is unscrupulous, if won't matter to her, but if she is honest, she'll want to "be advised."
  9. What a treat Emma is! Thanks for sharing, loved the video
  10. Hello and welcome to you and Steely! Like Dave said, three days is nothing to a grey. He will need lots of time to adjust to his new environment. Just let him set the pace!
  11. Argh! I'm not feeding goldenfeast but I just cringe every time I see these recalls. I figure my turn is coming Thanks for sharing!
  12. Cute! Shelby looks so easy to handle compared to my cantankerous bird... I still wouldn't trade him for anything though!
  13. You may also have a "closet talker." Timber doesn't say much when you in the room with him. If I'm in another room, he will talk but I can hardly hear him. I set up a web cam that I can view remotely. He will chatter away for quite some time. I listen to him through the spy cam.
  14. Jake has almost 10 grams on Timber. He was 276 last time I could get him on the scale. And, like you said, that is with me trying to get him to eat anything and everything!
  15. If you are like me Steve you wouldn't even refer to him/her as she then! Once you get it set in your head and speech, it is hard to change
  16. I sure do feel for you! We all just do the best we can and what we know to do at a given time. I've made a lot of decisions I regret, but you just have to keep you chin up and forge ahead! Praying for a quick and total recovery for Echo and no impact on Radar.
  17. Koko is a pretty bird. In better feather than a lot I have seen!
  18. Great news, thanks for letting us know
  19. Hello and welcome to you and Koko!
  20. Neat pics, thanks for sharing Timber (TAG) is abpit six and is a sort-a-cuddler. He will let me scratch around his head and beak as long as I'm willing. He will put his beak down on my stomach and stay there for as long as I scratch. I suspect if I tried to put my hand around his head like that he would NOT have it... He will let me scratch just about anytime, but he is more likely to be "cuddly" at bedtime.
  21. Just beautiful! Thanks for sharing
  22. Let me know how it goes! I'd like to give it a shot myself.
  23. I'm sure you and your bird will have many more years together! I agree that it is good to be prepared though. I'd be looking for someone who is quite young. I'd volunteer, but I'm only 14 years younger so probably wouldn't be a good choice! I want to arrange for Timber to go to someone that will outlive him, which means they need to be pretty young.
  24. I don't know what a balut egg is, but I'm not liking the sound of it!
