  1. I dont know if they chip birds over here but both my dogs and cat are chipped, but there is also a big thing going on here at the moment aswell as noone has to check a lost animal for this, and 99% of the time they are not , you get the usuall month to find your dog then it is either re-homed or put down , so most people now think whats the point?..i think this about Archie as more than likely he would be found and sold on and i would never find him
  2. How funny!! Archies doesnt do this,as luvparrots said i would love to see it
  3. I see now thanks Doug , Ill have to get corn on the cob tonight to try him on it , i tried him with it out of the tin and he turned hes nose up but then i dont like it out the tin but love it on the cob,do you cook it first or raw??

    Peanut Butter

In Archies parrot mix i buy him he has pistachios, monkey nuts, the odd half a wal nut all these are in shells,i also buy him these 3 in the shells from the shop, all unsalted , why would they put these in hes mix if he is not allowed them??
  5. Archie does exactly as you have said he also bites me when on my head/shoulder/hands every where, think i got a bit of a biter on my hands??! i also give a firm `no bitey` but i just get a look of yea whatever and then nails me again,i personally would not put him back in hes cage everytime he does it , as you said i think it would lead to ill feeling of hes home,i just ignore Archie for a couple of minutes then say `make up` and give him a scratch (which most of the time is returned with another bite) typing this i dont actually think i should be trying to give advice lol
  6. I hope anya is getting along even better now??
  7. oh you dont give them it on the actuall cob then??
  8. I re homed Archie just over a month ago and he is age 2,he has settled into our home i think very easy,he took to me within 2 days,he started showing me bonding actions after only about a week.i think he done very well,he come from a home with a single man and one other bird to a family home with 2 dogs and 2 other birds, the dogs still have to keep there distance but they are deffinatly tolerated now As for the pair or not id say the same as life is greyt,if they like eachother and are close i would not seperate them , as a year is pretty long to have a best friend and then be taken away, but if they are not close then i would take one , you also have to consider if you could handle 2 your self
  9. I cant really say iam concerned as to wether he is a he or she,i just wondered if i could now deffinatly say he was a boy as hes doing that to me a girl, but as you have all said that is not the case and iam fine with that,in the future if we deside to get another grey then obviously i will DNA him then as i dont want any chance of breeding ,but for now its fine. I have looked up a few DNA sites and they say i have to get a fresh feather from him,not one that has been plucked out and been on the floor, and i dont want to pull one of hes feathers out,so at the moment while he is on hes own that is not something iam prepared to do The owner we got him from said he was deffinatly a boy but when i asked him for DNA proof he didnt have any so ..... Sorry that all sounds abit stroppy i dont mean it to
  10. Yea it is very cute , makes me smile everytime i see him do it 8pm is bed time every night , sometimes if they have been `good` they get untill 815pm lol,but just like human kids he will sit there yawning, put him to bed and he wakes up and gets all chatty
  11. Ive been looking at them did you get the mediums ize or large?
  12. Archie has changed the size of ebay to very small,i can barely read it every other page i go to is fine just ebay ,which is the page i was on when he done what ever he did i cant seem to fix that
  13. Thanks everyone i kinda new it was a bath but just wanted to be sure as i have never seen any of my birds do this.I do spray all 3 of them every other day and new i was not getting Archie good enough but was hoping he would get used to it , i never spray their faces but i do try and get their chests I am going to look up what you have Ray and get him one,my Tiels like to be misted but what ever makes them happy they get
  14. What a good idea i never thought of that Archie goes mad for all the stuff you have mentioned aswell,we got him hes own `fake` phone which lasted a whole 10 mins, when he comes after my keyboard i give him a firm no which is returned with a look of `bring it` and then goes straight back to biting my keys , deffinatly going to do as you have done
  15. I have just brought Archie a new playstand,i was wondering where i should place it to get him used to it,is it to close to hes cage here ??I have put a box on to try and intise him lol I no i didnt make it myself but i dont even know how to put a shelf up so my chances of ever doing that are pretty slim
  16. Haha , do you think he is trying to tell me something?? lol .....After he had finished kicking all the seeds out he left me a lovely present to clean up how thoughtful of him
  17. Oh yea i see what you mean, that would of caused me to panic
  18. Ill start from the begining i was hoovering and Archie flew over to me and landed on my shoulder,so i walked him back to his cage after i finished the room and off he went,he then went into this `fit` he done what you can see in the video which i assume is him bathing yet i got the squirter out and he still lunged at me like normal as he hates it ,he done this with hes water bowl for about 5 mins, and me changing hes water 3 times, hes then gone to the top of hes cage climbed out and rubbed hes beak all over the top of the cage,no bar left untouched , climbed back into hes cage and has had a right good go at one of hes toys,is this a normal bath or is he as peeded off as i think he is for someone reason??he has now calmed down and just sitting there shivering, also as you can see he seems abit bald on his neck and chest today yet i have found no feathers anywhere i dont understand it??iam going to go and get him some aloe vera spray and anti plucking spray i think although he HATES being sprayed so dunno what to do Excuse the music http://www.flickr.com/photos/77628157@N07/6888595216/ I will admit iam also feeling abit nervous of him at the moment now because he has his `i hate you ` face on
  19. So iam giving the cages there weekly scrub down , turn around and start to panick as Archie has gone out of sight, then i hear this rattiling and what do i find.... Luckily the bag is only filled with both cages newspapers and left over food
  20. Do they `yawn?` ..i have notcied of an evening normally after he has had scratches Archie will open hes mouth really wide with hes neck stretched out,it looks like he is yawning and i take it as that and put him in hes cage for bed
  21. I like the shelf thing Emma is sitting on in her picture
