It wasn't me this time, but I didn't say no either!

Yeah, right now i am a tad gun shy of all beaks and my face was between them. After the macaw got me and i put him in time out, i forced myself to get him back out myself despite the pain and fear. ( he had his foot up to be picked up, once he was on my arm he clamped down on the back of my hand and tried to remove the skin and vein and wouldn't let go ) Oh and i also hate having my picture taken, lol -

Okay, my husband calls it bonding time with me and Gabby. I call it scary and dangerious! Gabby is taken to the living room when i am cooking. Tonight however she kept flying into the kitchen and onto my shoulder while i stood frozen in front of a hot stove. Scared to turn around for fear i would scare her and make her panic and hit the frying pan or stove. We tried to stop her from this but she isn't listening so after the prep, i am afraid she will have to go to her home. She loves the prep. She will sit on the faucet and just watch until i get to something she likes, she will flutter down to the side of the sink and oh so slowly walk to the cutting board and get what she wants. It is so cute. While on my shoulder tonight, she gave me my first kiss and again a kiss when we put them to sleep. Bongo and Gabby had their first close encounter too. It went pretty well. They stood on the stand together but Bongo always moved away from her. -
Thats is great! I just watched Bogeys utube videos, boy does he speak clear and loud. I must say, those were the first i watched that i wasn't struggling to hear. Really enjoyed them, thanks!

Yeah! Congrats! -
We had this guy for a year +. When the greys and macaws came along we were advised not to keep them together as they carry something the parrots could catch. My niece loved him so while she was here after school she would work with him until we felt they were comfortable together then she took him home. Too bad Bongo learned that scream he did! Lol

This is Gabby, she is on her back alot. She laid like that for a while until Pat gave her tummy rubs, when she got her fill she got up and attacked her toys.

You will do just fine! Have fun and relax!

The shoebox is officially gone. Lol she has now moved on to the garbage bag box. I stuffed it full for her, then gave the 2 macaws the mail and Bongo got his fav, sale ads from the mail. Gabby got mad at the macaws and took their mail away! Good times, they wanted it back! -
After a little scolding from the vet we finally got a battery for the bird scale. How sad it that to be sooo forgetful i couldn't remember to get one. He asked about Olivers weight and i had to say i dunno....duh. Okay, drumroll please, last weigh in at vet, 830g. Yesterday, 960g!! PPD diagnosis not slowing this boy down!! Bubba only weighed 803 on Monday, vet said he had dropped 30g since last visit 1 week earlier. I panicked but he told me to buck up, the guy had his butt frozen and it was okay he had lost some, excpected he would. He is back to 833g as of yesterday. Bongo weighing in at 453g. Gabby at 494g. They are all within range! Great another thing for me to worry over, weight. Just what i needed.

With Gabby, no box or paper is safe. Nothing is safe really, she inspects everything and destroys what she can. We have the new aviary done except for a branch or two. This is them yesterday enjoying some sunshine. -
Oh, i am in your area but i just can't. I will be happy to help you, in any way i can, to find a new forever home for pepper.

Ahhhh, Oliver was with me yesterday and he squatted, dropped his wings and started quivering. I told my husband that he must be in season. Duh, never put it together that Bubba could be too. Lol Does explain the new bruises and bites i have gotten in the last few days! The one yesterday left a huge bruise on the back of my hand. Perfect cuts of his bottom beak in two places making a v, but only one hole from his top beak. Bad part is that the vein, from the index finger to the wrist, is what he was digging for. I guess he just didn't think it needed to be there. Lol I still have my fingers!

Yeah, she got the baseboards in a few places and Bubba got our window frame. For the first time all 4 of them were chatting up a storm last night together. Hello's back and forth between Gabby and Oliver, Bongo and Gabby were whistling things back and forth, copying each other then it happened. Our first not so nice sound, Gabby did a fart noise, then right after said, " thats not nice". Although we were in the other room laughing our butts off, thats not something i would like to hear daily out of 4 birds! -

She helped me with dinner tonight! I think back to my first week with Bongo, how i wished and tried to get him to help me in the kitchen, nibbling the veggies as i chopped, oh how cute it would be. Welp, that beautiful dream i had was proven to me tonight to be more of a nightmare. Goodness she was into everything, crawling all over my cutting board, stealing my carrots, potatoes and celery. Then she spotted my new shoes in the pretty new box. I guess her helping me in the kitchen and helping me get rid of my pesty shoe box is a step in the right direction with me and her! ( Bubba on the other hand, ouch, he turned on me today and got me goooood ) -
NO HERPES! We finally have some good news! Bad thing, today we saw Bubba at the bottom of his cage, he was shredding his paper so we really didn't think much of it. Later while i tried to get him out he stepped up for me as normal, then bam, outta no where clamped down on the back of my hand. Hubby said i groaned but did great getting him back to his cage while he had ahold of me, lol. Tonight when we put him to bed he went to the bottom again, walked across, stopped, then went back up to his swing. We are not liking that, so calling the vet again tomorrow.

Made this the other day, what you think?

Its great! -
Still nothing back on the test. Gesh! Did talk to the vet about this thing coming out all the time, he said he expected it and to keep an eye out to make sure he keeps pooping and eating. Still wants to wait three weeks to see if it dissolves on its own.

Oh yes, she is way smarter than we could have imagined. Really wants to please us but also very set in her ways. Right now we are trying to find the middle ground. Today we were working fixing up their room, so we needed them on their stands. Really expected her to be flying into her room but she stayed on her stand without any problem! We did have an issue where we were trying to get Bubba his butt ointment on and she bit into the tube. It was no where near her but she zero'd in on it and got it! She punctured the tube but didn't eat any of it thank heavens. -
I can not believe i forgot to tell ya'll this... Yesterday evening Bubba, out of the blue after a full day of butt probing, did a very high pitched opera "ahhhhhhhhh". ( it's hard to explain but you know joke when men go to the dr and do the bend over and cough, the sing song "ahhhhhh" they make ) I think someone at the vets office has a funny sense of humor! Both Pat and i just looked at each other then busted out laughing. I am going to have to remember to ask about that!

We have some bad habits to break with Gabby. When we put her in her cage for dinner, she will not eat. Lol She did much better tonight. She flew from her stand to pats plate. He put her in time out, went in a few minutes later and got her out. She sat beside him and didn't bother his plate or mine the rest of the meal! -

Lol, I bet that is so cute! Gabby does the ring then the hello. I know she can say a whole bunch more than she does, she is just so darn quiet and my house is not quiet by any means! We hear her chatting away but can't hear it to understand. I would think that since she can say hello and some basic words that goodbye, good morning and goodnight would be flowing but she hasn't uttered them yet. I am also rethinking teaching any of my birds our names due to the Howard name she keeps saying. They are going to outlive us and and hearing one of our names repeated by the birds would be hard. I don't know if i could handle them saying Pats name if he should pass before me. Maybe i am being selfish. -
That is so beautiful! It would be heaven on earth to me!

Ah, that is so nice of them! Who ever made that set, made it with parrots in mind. Try as they may, hardly a chip in it from those macaw beaks! They loved it so much, Pat went ahead and put it their room. He is going to keep looking for another for Gabby, maybe a little smaller. We stuffed the fridge full of toys, balls and and learning musical toys. Okay, Bubbas butt... First cleaning this morning the cyst was out and we had to get it back in. We had to wrap him up and the vet told us to use a thermomitor to push it back in. I used the antibiotic to lube, closed my eyes and hoped Pat didn't let go of him! Went okay. Second time, out again, this time i held Bubba up and Pat put the ointment on his finger and it popped back in. Third time, same thing. I am so glad Pat is on vacation this week, i couldn't do this myself.

Bubba had to go to the vet yesterday morning as a drop off. His butt was pretty bad and he started grunting again but this time nothing was coming out. He had to cut off the remainder of the cyst and then push the rest back in. As soon as he did that Bubba pooped a big un. Vet said that there was so much old stuff in him that it all came out and stunk to high heaven. Glad it happened with the vet! He will be very sore and the thing may pop out again but if it does we are to push it back in. He is on an antibiotic cream three times a day. Recheck in three weeks, he seems to think he got the bulk of it and that the rest will go away on its own in a week or two. He said he wouldn't freeze again but if he has to remove the rest he will have to knock him out this time as it is on the inside but doesn't want to do that unless it becomes a must because he doesn't like to knock out birds. They said also they were going to call the lab and get his results for us today. Fingers crossed it is good news! While out killing time before picking up Bubba my husband found a childs kitchen set that wanted to get for Gabby, our terror in the kitchen CAG. He wanted to convert it into a stand for her in our kitchen area where she always flys to. Welp that didn't work the way he planned at all.
