  1. All the boings in my home are used as chew toys but hey, they are atleast using them! Lol All my guys like to be steady, things that sway are a no go.
  2. I learned that when working with Bubba on new words, turn on the steam mop. You can try getting out new words until your blue in the face but if you are steaming the floors, he gets talkative. We let the boys play on the floor yesterday, that was fun for them, not so much for me! I was chasing them away from my tables, Oliver was chasing me! Then out of no where Bongo flew from his stand to the floor and ran as fast as he could to me, he did this on his own. I guess he has had enough of just watching and wants to join in now, yeah. He even sat on the faucet like Gabby does when i am starting dinner! Welp, Bubba goes back to Dr in the morning, yuckie.
  3. Wonderful information! Such a heart you have!
  4. Lol! Thats funny and i can hear him already saying that!
  5. Ahhhh, great idea!! Hope my hubby goes for it! Oh, my ac vent is up there, eh, lets see what the builder says. Lol
  6. Wow, i went to her site. It is great. Her phone number is my area code so she is close. I see an outting in my future! Thanks!
  7. Lump is back out and hard again. Dang it! We had them outside in the aviary yesterday, macaws out first then i go get the greys. I have to bring them out in their carriers as they are a flight risk! I had the carrier out and Bubba saw it, started with the "byes". Hubby was mowing the yard and i brought out Bongo, Bubba watched me take him out and as soon as i started out of the aviary, i heard "bye" about 6 times and all the way to the door, Pat even heard him over the lawn mower. Exact same thing when i brought Gabby out. It was like he couldn't wait for me to go away and leave them to play! Lol, of course i know better cuz i get the same thing from him when i take the trash out!
  8. Everytime i leave the room, i know when i come back in i will be playing a game with Gabby. The game is, " Wheres Waldo?" except here it is " Wheres Gabby?" I swear she plans where she is going to hide from me. I had been telling my husband about this but until yesterday i don't think he really understood. When he had to help me look for her one time and we found her up in the curtains, he finally got it!! I know i should be pro active, in my kitchen over the cabinets i have antique glass and plates, knick nacks, all very meaningful for me. I know she will find her way up there one day soon and probably break something before i do anything about it, please just remind me when it happens i had my chance and it isn't her fault!! Lol It isn't lazy as much as i have no where to hide stuff anymore! She is not allowed in our bedroom, and when we were in bed last night i looked around and it is cram packed with stuff i can't leave out! Old rocking chairs, victrola, coo coo clocks. Oh my, why couldn't my hobby be collecting rocks, not wooden antiques?
  9. Very cool! Who was the breeder? There is one here who i adore, her name is Lou and i have been to her place several times now. I like to go there just to ewww and awwww. Lol
  10. Cheers to you and your new baby! Have fun! Can't wait to hear the name! When i first saw him a name came right to me, be fun to see how close i came! Lol
  11. Had to move furniture around yesterday to get Bubba and Oliver closer together. One or the other would fall off their stand trying to get to the other. I do wish they could be on the same one but alas, they get too mean. Pat isn't thrilled with the location of Gabbys stand now as it is by the door and she flies but, i explained to him that she is NEVER on her stand so why worry! Her stand is everything but her stand so logic states to put it where you don't want her going! I had a shock yesterday while steaming the floor. Bubba was saying his normal hellos then they started changing pitch. It went from a mans voice to a womans voice. Then out of no where i heard, "pretty bird". I was so excited to hear something new, i told him "i love you"! And whadda ya know the stinker said "i love" back to me, we will have to work on the "you" part! We are also working on the word Pat and he about has that, it is more "at" sounding right now but he will master it! Lol Oliver is paying such close attention to Bubba that i feel sure he will be talking soon himself. He already says hello and can darn near say i love you! We also are working on the name Howard, that is what Gabby calls Pat so out of just pure meanness, i would love the other birds to atleast know that word! All of Pats family are calling him Howard now too! Do you think a 20 yr old grey can still learn new words?
  12. Haven't been able to check him this morning, he is on the bottom of the cage shreeding paper and making a nest. Very aggressive when he is busy with that! Oliver is in his cage turning everything upside down frustrated he isn't in Bubbas cage helping! My sweet greys are in their cage whistling and chatting away, even let me clean their cage before the garbage men came. Ahhh, mom gets to shower now!
  13. We now have a drawer in the kitchen for the cell phones, wallet, kitchen remotes and sunglasses as we found out last night Gabby also enjoys chewing. Bubba, Oliver and Bongo never ever messed with our stuff, then Gabby came along....
  14. So peaceful. I really understand the "sometimes"!
  15. Woo hoo! Tonights bath showed no sign of anything coming from his bumm but whats supposed to! Meds on too without issue! For those who follow Oliver let me say that he almost said "love you" tonight at bedtime! Every day it gets a little clearer, tonights though brought my hubby in closer asking "what did he say?" I am such a proud mama today! Lol
  16. A little more organized tonight. We had Oliver on the couch since Gabby was busy playing this cool new game with Pat which consisted of her throwing a metal bowl on the floor, him picking it back up, her throwing it down, him picking it up, down, up down, up, well you get the picture. Oliver decided it was his turn to run amuck. Found him across the room on Gabbys stand eating her food! This morning Gabby was in Bongos cage so fair is fair! She didn't care about Oliver on her stand but Bongo was upset about her in his. She was at his food bowl, he was across the cáge as far as he could get!
  17. I bought an acrylic one and used it once. The weather was cool at the time but i won't use it again, to us it was like a see through oven. We then got a full wire small dog crate. Can add perch and bowls no problem, we added shoulder straps from luggage and are now good to go. Also got a baby blanket to cover it when needed.
  18. Worse was coming home and hearing Oliver saying hello over and over again to be picked up so he could find Bubba. Okay, Bubba had surgery, minor, and they removed 20% of the papaloma (ms). Said it would be a risk to him to remove more right now. He will go back next Wednesday to see if they need to remove more. He did great and no adverse reaction. They told me when they brought him out that he is bleeding and i shouldn't panic when i see blood. She walked away and he pooped solid bloody stool, i paniced a wee bit but then asked them if thats what they meant i shouldn't panic over, they said yes. It was all over my shoes the floor and the wall, all i could do was look around and say "okay". Got him home, left him hubby and ran to the store. When i got home again Pat was sitting outside so i joined him, when we went back in we walked to the kitchen before i even noticed Bubba wasn't on his stand. Pat had walked right by it and never even noticed. After a quick look around i finally saw him on Bongo's stand and Bongo was scared to death. Moved Bubba back and Bongo flew off his stand, while going to get him Gabby flew over to see what was going on. Oliver is screaming because he couldn't get off his stand to join in! Dogs running in fear while Pat is saying that Bubba was on his stand when he went outside! Pat and i got the birds back to their places and ran outside laughing at them taking over! Moral to all of this is Bubba seems to be feeling just fine, the little trouble maker!
  19. The birds took over tonight, we had to run outside laughing and just had to sit and compose ourselves. Birds flying and wandering all over the house. Poor Oliver was the only one unable to get off his stand and cause havoc! The others were on the wrong stands, on the floor chasing dogs! Man what a night, and to think Bubba had surgery today, one could never tell that by the way he acted!

So very well stated. Thank you
  21. He is at the vets now. I almost started crying, he kept saying bye to me as i was driving him there. I know its just his butt and i shouldn't be as freaked out as i am but he is my boy! :'( I hate seeing him distressed. They said i should be able to pick him up after 3, they are closing the office from noon to three for a staff meeting and he will be checked out by the dr before hand and if he misses the meeting, oh well. Lol man i love this guy!
  22. I can't enforce wrist because with her bum leg she isn't steady to walk with, you need to hold on to her hanging toes so she has balance. She gets to prep dinner with me but is put in her home now when actual cooking gets started. She is very entertaining to say the least and oh does she think she is a bigger bird than she really is. I have chihuahuas that think they are dobermins and greys that think they are hawks and macaws who think they are babies! I need to start flashcards with them to try and teach them what they really are!
  23. Knocking on wood as i write this, my fids have never touched my earrings BUT none of mine are ( were ) allowed on my shoulder, until Gabby that is... Old habits are hard to break. Bubba gets on my hand where i can cover his little tootsies with my thumb, this is a must for him as he likes to flip himself upside down while you walk with him! How he got the back of my hand is still a mystery. Gabby is the same way. Oliver and Bongo both hate hands and will only step up to your forearm. Heaven forbid you forget and try to get them to step up the wrong way! Lol
  24. Bubba goes back to Dr tomorrow. His bumm lump hardened over night and we can not get it back in. I called the vet and he said basically that he didn't care if we didn't like dropping him off, we are to bring him in the morning and he will take care of him and have him back by night fall ( unless he does the surgery ). I am a nervous nelly right now! My vet normally doesn't demand, he always has given me options.
