  1. Fantastic first weekend and great pics!
  2. I'm sorry to hear that but thanks for sharing his brief life with us. The pictures are awesome!!
  3. I have a Hahn's. They are neat little birds. Mine loves, loves, loves to cuddle! They are not real loud but can make their presence known. Mine talks but not as much or as clear as my little African Senegal. Both birds are somewhat "trained" to stay quiet until they hear someone up and moving around. The Senegal is 19 and the Hahn's is 17.
  4. Unfortunately none of the videos will play for me.
  5. I really appreciate your updates. Keep up the good work!
  6. We had those moths several years ago. It definitely came from the bird store from the food in open bins. We usually bought bags but they were out so I got some from the bins. By the time we realized what was going on they had made their way into the pantry. We threw out food and obviously the bird food. Everything now is in zip lock bags and we don't buy loose food any more.
  7. Last one....here he is back in his bin:
  8. Red tail feathers coming in:
  9. Here he is responding to the "stay" command:
  10. 45 days old today, 249 grams, Egan my little bright eyed one!:
  11. You have definitely come to the right place. I don't know where I would be without this forum. Lots of great people, great advice, great support and GREAT FUN! I look forward to sharing your adventure with you.
  12. That was definitely cool! (I liked your husband's laughter in the background too.)
  13. Murphy was at the top of my prayer list today in church. I really, really feel like you are very close. He's coming home.
  14. Also (you hope people wouldn't do this but they do) check the for sale ads. Someone may find him and then turn around and try to sell him.
  15. The only guess that I had and it's an "out there" guess is that Joe had a night fright. Since you were the first person he saw he associated the fright with you so he lost trust. I'm no expert by any means but going back to square one to regain his trust is the only advice I know.
  16. The cell phone rings might change because your ringer might be different. Our little Sennie used to respond to the ringing telephone. Whenver the phone would ring, she would yell, "Christy!" followed by "Chriiiiiiiiiisty!" We got a new phone with a different ring. Plus Christy is now 32 and hasn't lived here for awhile so we haven't heard that in a few years. We still hear "Where's Jessica?" She is 29 and doesn't live here anymore either but her 3 year old daughter is here frequently. She watches this one Scooby Doo movie where a character says, "My name is Jessica" and Lana says, "She's not Jessica. Mama is Jessica." So lately the "Where's Jessica?" has returned.
  17. Great news! I'm glad it all worked out for the best.
  18. That is fantastic! Thanks for sharing the joy!
  19. One member here, Rudysmom, has a grey named Cody who had it's leg broken in the nest. She has gotten a cage that isn't quite as big but has a very nice playtop to accomodate her little boy's "handicap". Also some special perches. I'm sure you will find a lot of great information here to help you and your new buddy.
  20. Checking out my new Droid 3 and watching Hangover....again.
  21. It is possible that someone found him between last night and this morning and took him in. That would explain why you had no sighting of him today. It could be the one person in the village who is unaware who he belongs to. Hopefully tomorrow or Saturday you will hook back up. I still have good feelings that you are going to get him back. Keep posting flyers with his picture and your number. Possibly offer a reward (but don't indicate how much on the flyer, just *REWARD FOR RETURN*). He will be back with you soon.
  22. I don't have enough knowledge to help you but I am very much interested in what others thoughts and ideas are. One question: is it just you that your bird has this reaction with? Is your wife able to interact as she always has?
